Beautiful restaurant, the open kitchen was really enjoyable to see and hear. Service was top notch as you might expect. There were a couple unpleasant details or issues with our food, but the staff was attentive and sure to more than make up for it.

The experience was everything I expected from a Michelin starred restaurant. Such a memorable experience celebrating my birthday. We sat on the patio so conversation was easy. Plenty of heaters, however, the weather cooperated! Next time would request a table inside near the kitchen. Won’t be as quiet but should be fascinating to see how this wonderful food was prepared and plated. The service was focused, friendly and accommodating.

Fabulous experience at a familiar/new favourite! We've been coming to J&J for years so returning after being awarded the Michelin star was sure to be an experience. The food of course was fantastic. Four courses plus amuse boche plus a bit of extra dessert were all excellent. The portions were sufficient to allow an appreciation for each course but not leaving one wanting or overwhelmed. The service was excellent. Often enough to feel taken care of but not overly present. The ambience was lovely and reflected the busy restaurant atmosphere of Carlbad on a Saturday night. We did not purchase a bottle of wine and had a very nice Chenin Blanc recommended by the waiter. A Wonderful Birthday experience and re-acquaintance with a familiar but new restaurant. Merci beacoup!

Really loved every moment of this dining experience. Every staff member was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Our waiter Nate took great care of us and was quite lovely to speak with. We will done here again!

Entire experience was amazing. Nate was an incredible server. The food was perfect, and the wine pairings were excellent! We have had meals at many one, two and three star Michelin restaurants and this is right up there with the best! We will definitely be back! Highly, highly recommend!

Nathan and Maya were two of the most personable and lovely servers I’ve ever had and did a wonderful job describing everything and adding to the experience. The food is incredible. Every dish is not only beautiful, but delicious and complex. It is a Michelin star, four course meal, so do not go here if that is not the vibe you want. If, however, you want a truly exceptional dining experience with fantastic staff, and a true gourmet experience, then do NOT sleep on this restaurant!!! Thank you to the Chef and staff who made these two very tired parents feel like royal guests!
