Jia Modern Chinese & Asian Lounge
$5 happy hour from 4pm-7pm at the bar and the lounge.
Our first time here and won't be our last! The Mongolian beef was incredibly tender and delicious. The manager Fawn and the staff have amazing energy. Will see you again soon!
Made a reservation, but they weren’t open when we got there. Maybe next time!
Great location to University Park
Staff was friendly, food was great. This was an excellent spot to hang out.
Premium location with "upscale" Chinese food. Very reasonable drink menu.
Food was great this was the first time we were there and will be back best Chinese food in Dallas
Tostadas are excellent. Jalapeño chicken was tasty. I enjoyed my sake. Service was great!
I have been looking for a good experience to have Chinese food and finally have found it in Jia Modern Chinese restaurant. Our dinner choices were all wonderful and large enough for leftovers if I had done take out. Service was perfect. If you can't find time to sit down and eat, order take out. You won't be disappointed. Still craving more spring rolls as I type this. They have valet so don't worry about parking.
This is a beautiful restaurant in Preston Center. It was quiet at lunch. We ordered two types of dumplings - both were wonderful. The lettuce wraps were good but I've had better. My associate had shrimp which he proclaimed very good. I will definitely visit this restaurant again.
One caveat - the very friendly, extremely nice car parker stole my Airpods from the console of my car. When I discovered it I called the restaurant, who put me in touch with the valet company. To the car parker's credit, he returned them with various explanations. When I kept pressing for the truth, he admitted the theft. That incident won't keep me away from Jia, but it will make me watch what I leave in plain sight in my car when I turn it over to a valet.
Chicken eggrolls, eggplant and General Tsao's chicken. All outstanding as was the service. Cannot wait to go back.
We love having a really good, friendly neighborhood modern Chinese restaurant nearby.
Everything was great except nobody busses the tables: so each course comes with a full
Table of dirty plates still there , but food excellent
Fine dining with very good cooks Chinese dishes. The service was outstanding. Pad Thai is awesome.
Supposedly Chinese fusion but same standard dishes. Food was no different then your average Chinese restaurant; however, the prices are significantly more. We had the Mongolian Beef was fine similar to your standard MB. The General Tsao's was really sweet and sour chicken with different spices and some cold brocolli that was added. Not even close since General Tsao's is traditionally double breaded and fried in a darker sauce.
Was very good and I will return.
Fabulous food and service. Highly recommend!
Food and service are always great. Had the chili prawns and a ginger bomb
So glad to see Lee. Fond memories of her from Szechuan Pavillion. Some recipes were even the same.
Delicious! Everything can be gluten free. Even dessert!
The most delicious restaurant everrrrr the food is outstanding. The service is amazing. We highly recommend!!!
What a treat to have a wonderful Asian restaurant back in the same space as the beloved, long-gone (and still missed) Szechuan Pavilion.
Delicious, consistent food with a super friendly staff! So nice to have good alternatives to Royal China and PF Changs (yes, I know...)!
So great to have a fabulous restaurant in this spot. Service was great on a busy Saturday night and the owner stopped by our table to make sure everything was good. Love this restaurant!
Cozy place for dinner with a small bar and upstairs lounge. It's a modern Asian look with updated and fresh traditional dishes. We've dined here twice and very busy both times. I think the staff is still adjusting to the volume of business on weekends but overall a good experience and great food. We will be back.
Delicious farm-table with great service
Awesome. We love this restaurant!
Service was incredibly slow. We arrived for a 6pm reservation and finally left at 8:30. The server was friendly, but would disappear for long periods of time. Two entrees were served at room temperature. One of those was shrimp, so that diner was hesitant to eat them since they didn’t seem fully cooked. The dessert of Joy Macaron ice cream sandwiches was so frozen the server told us to wait 15-20 minutes to let them thaw enough to eat them. Very disappointing overall.
A new well done neighood Asian food. All fresh well done. Family operation. Bar upstairs, Dinner down.
The best Chinese food I have had in Dallas! Real authentic. Kung pao was not swimming in sauce, and the spices cling to every piece of chicken. The chili garlic sauce over my dumplings was a game a changer! Outstanding all the ay around!!
Book your next event at Jia’s - amazing balcony with the perfect atmosphere! Also great for everyday dining too! A true gem in the park cities!!
This may be the best Chinese restaurant in Dallas. The food is light and not heavy. The staff made you feel welcome and were accommodating.
Potstickers were seared perfectly. Edamame was fresh and carefully salted.
We ordered three entrees: eggplant, prawns in chili sauce, and mu-Shu pork. Every dish was perfect. Wait staff was very attentive. Highly recommend. New favorite Chinese restaurant.
The kitchen, bar and service were all mediocre at best. The food was cold, portions unusually small, drinks watered down, service solicitous but unorganized. .... Yet they still charge Preston Hollow prices.
We will not be back.
Delicious meal and friendly staff. Would definitely go back.
The food was very good and ambiance is nice. The waiter was abysmal. The Asian management was flitting from table to table and was loud to the point of annoyance. I know the financial backers and will share these comments. This is all fixable and I wish Jia the best. I want success!
We had a GREAT experience! Food was fresh and not too heavy, which we don't like in Asian food. Glad for there to be a nice sit-down Chinese place in Preston Center again. The staff is still working out their "flow" but you can tell everyone is working really hard to make sure this is a good dining experience. They will only get better with time! MANY years ago, this was Szechwan Pavilion, so if feels like the space is getting back to its roots.
The food was excellent and they were very attentive!
Food was presented beautifully and was excellent. Friendly staff and service.
This is the best Chinese food I’ve had in Dallas in ages.
We had the Crab Rangoon, which was excellent. The edamame was also fresh and perfectly done.
The Hot Chicken stir fry is awesome! The last few times we have been, I tried the Dry Green Beans with Chicken made extra spicy. It’s my favorite Asian dish and I’ve eaten it thousands of times in my life...and this is the best I’ve ever had!!
My husband has tried the Mongolian Beef and says it is also delicious.
So glad this is in the neighborhood and thriving! Much needed in the area!
