Jikoni's menu is guided by Chef Patron and award-winning food writer Ravinder Bhogal, who’s delicate hand with flavours and global mixed-heritage cooking can be seen in the dishes. Around half of the menu is vegetarian and much of Jikoni’s produce, wines and even teas are sourced from artisan and sustainable family producers.
The restaurant is a culinary gem for foodies and frequented by off-duty chefs, restaurant types, and locals. Jikoni is nestled into the heart of London’s Marylebone neighbourhood, just a 5 minute walk from both Selfridges and Baker Street.

Just amazing, as usual. The food is exceptional, and the service perfect.
Ladies night
The experience was a little let down by the ambience - or rather - lack thereof. Covid-19 precautions meant some tables had been taken out. Understan
always very good on all front. we'll keep coming back
What a wonderful discovery. We will be back.
Wasn't as plush as I'd expected but the décor is not what is important here. The warmth of service and quality of the cooking earn all the stars.
Fantastic Indian fusion food AND dessert. Great ambience
The food was exceptional. Dishes were creative, original and the combination of flavours was a delight. I’m diabetic, and the waiter took time to ensure that I was aware of the sugar content of each of the dishes, and could make an informed and safe decision.
Very attentive staff and fantastic service. Excellent food. Well managed with regards to social distancing. Only feedback is the size of the table, really very small and unable to accommodate a few small plates easily
Creative and delicious food and excellent service! Would highly recommend
First time at Jikoni since the lock-down ended. Wonderful as ever. Food and service were both excellent and the chef's ability to create beautiful dishes with subtle flavours is still there. Loved all the dishes, but the Lobster Moile deserves a special mention - it was outstanding. Thank you for a lovely 20th anniversary dinner.
Great to return to Jikoni post lock-down!
It's our third time dining with them so we were keen to go back and support the team as we just love their African/South Asian/Middle Eastern fusion cuisine and their very personable team.
The food here is really unique - in the very best possible way and there's nothing like it that we're tried around London. The fusion of flavours from various parts of the world just somehow all work together and the food is really creative and delicious.
The serving team are super friendly and I'd encourage diners to ask them to explain the dishes you're interested in as they can take you on an interesting journey through the history of the dishes and the ingredients.
Only 4 customers and slow, borderline rude service
Lovely, original food, something different cutely presented.
Amazing! Lovely service, got complimentary chickpea chips for the table.. food came quickly and was very tasty! Great ambiance - thank you!!
Second visit, food is as good as I remember from my first visit. Friendly service. Great place for small group or couple.
Interesting subtle flavour combinations in a short menu, mainly vegetarian but with at least one fish and chicken dish. Sharing plates for starters and very good, light puddings!
Food was very good and have already recommended this place!
Service very good, music could be turned down a bit. Food, Broccoli excellent, but crispy cauliflower main disy needs lifting up with some citrus/ tamarind. Expected more East African / Indian influence. Take on Cuku paka interesting but lost that coastal character. Also beer good but over priced.
The food is amazing and it tastes extremely good. I wish the portions were bigger though. £19 for a curry but the portion felt like we should’ve been charged £5 for it. I won’t be going back very quickly!
The food was amazing. The menu was interesting and I wanted to try everything. I’d love to visit again . The samosas were delicious . The restaurant is super comfy and the service was absolutely great. Commending the chefs on the great food.
Excellent restaurant, very interesting dishes with lots of flavor. Wine and service excellent
I was recommended Jikoni by a fellow diner in Switzerland, who told me it was well worth a try. So when I was in London I did so. I am not sure of the theme of the restaurant, and it didn't matter, but what I noticed as I walked through the front door was kind greetings and a beautifully informal and comfortable restaurant.
The menu was interesting inasmuch as I had never experienced anything like it, and I was guided by our waiter as to what each dish comprised. I picked three at random, having no idea what it was that would arrive at table, but what did turn up was delicious flavours, mostly vegetables. I still wasn't sure what was the cuisine. African? Asian? Who knows? Who cares? It was very good and tasty and confortable, with staff who appeared to bend over backwards to make this a night to remember in London for my fellow diner and I.
LM.
Wonderful food and drinks in a gorgeous setting. The service was impeccable.
For foodies, I can't recommend a trip to Jikoni highly enough after my second time there and the food and service continue to be outstanding. Their dishes are all prepared with a twist so if you think you will get normal Indian or East African cuisine - think again. The variety of tastes and how they all just work together is fabulous. The staff are fantastic and like any really good restaurant, they have all tried the food so can talk and make recommendations from personal experience. What really impressed our party is that they team can talk extensively about the various ingredients for a dish in question, how dishes are prepared and even what the cultural background is to the dish - this was all very impressive and made for both an educational evening as well as a delicious one. Even better, the team are super friendly and professional with a good attention to detail regarding our needs as we ate from course-to-course.
Location is great just off Marylebone High Street, and the ambience is cosy upstairs. If wanted, I note there is a large table downstairs next to the open kitchen which I presume would seat around 10-12 people. Highly recommended and a credit to the kitchen and service staff.
Delicious food. Excellent flavours. Brussel sprouts were the best I’ve had. Banana cake for dessert was fantastic.
Amazing food, the flavour fusion was extraordinary and the staff were so welcoming & gave great advice on food & wine choices.
The tiger prawn moilee is so tasty. Very comfortable settings and overall a good place to go but nothing outstanding
The food was delicious, and the staff were very helpful for explaining dishes and discussing allergens, able to accommodate all the different requests in our group.
Service slightly sketchy but absolutely brilliant cooking.
Really different flavours - everything worked!
VERY highly recommended
An amazing dinner at Jikoni. So nice to try something different and see some real creative food alongside great service. Thanks to their team for all the great recommendations and the great banana dessert.
Fantastic food - a lovely place for a leisurely late lunch
Delicious food! Great service
The food was outstanding. Innovative dishes , beautifully cooked and served with a lot of care. Very nice wine too it would have been too much food if we had had a first and a main course , but a couple of bar snacks a main course each and a vegetable was about right. Sprouts were outstanding. And the prawn toast scotch egg.
Wonderful food. Independent place. Very Marylebone. Love it!
Very attentive service and interesting food menu.
Food was delicious. Service was lovely. Would definitely go back.
Just delicious, an explosion of flavour in the palette in the best way possible. The ambience is gorgeous and inviting and I will certainly be back. Thanks for a scrumptious evening in all senses of the word.
What a great find in the heart of Marylebone just off the High Street. Nice friendly vibe and service, but it was the food that made this a place we'll take friends back to. A very interesting mix of African and Indian cuisine - which sounds weird but it sure works! We had several smaller plates to try a number of things along with one main course to share between the two of us. Best dish from our meal was
"Sweet Potato Bhel, Apple, Pomegranate" and we'd also highly rate a starter of "Prawn Toast Scotch Egg, Banana Ketchup" (also with pickled cucumber which didn't seem to add to the dish TBH), and another small plate of "Charred Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Shallots, Hot & Sour Dressing". The main we had of a tiger prawn curry" in a Southern Indian style was lovely but we felt it was over priced for the quantity served. Overall though, we will absolutely return to try a greater selection of their dishes.
One of my favourites and we come from sw!
