So I was originally so excited to come here. It was different than I expected a country club to be...being on a main road...cute town though! I did like the different rooms, even though all of them were closed except where we sat. We started off with tea and coffee for Sunday brunch. They were delicious! Then we had the avocado and zucchini appetizer...it was amazing!!! My boyfriend had the French omelette over kale and zucchini...it could've used more flavor...maybe some more Parmesan cheese or some other cheese...manchego is tasty. I got the steak and eggs...I asked for it to be medium...it came out medium rare, so they had to bring it back. When I finally got my food back, there was no more eggs on the plate. He was already finished with his meal so he had to watch me eat. The eggs were a little too runny for my taste...the first batch was better lol. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed...especially that we drove an hour to try it! Maybe it was just a bad day, but sadly we won't be returning. xoxo
The music level was ridiculous for dining. I couldn’t even hear what the person across from me was saying.
Pricey but quality food and wine. The staff was very friendly. The sommelier was very down to earth and not intimidating but able to find a suitable wine spot on. The food was excellent! Interesting and inventive combination of dishes. Most creations were 5 star taste. Loved the appetizers zuccini cappacio & fluke with grapefruit dish! Loved the Bucatini with gorgonzola cheese. Not too crazy about the dessert with the fig & vinegar combination nor the pound cake. Everything else superb!
Really recommend to try this place at least once!
This is just an incredible dining experience. The vibe is great, service is outstanding and the food never misses the mark. It’s casual yet gracious and the team there couldn’t be more welcoming.
Excellent food and service. Accommodations were perfect for our engagement. Thank you!
Great food, fantastic service! Waitress was so kind and the manager even came over to discuss food allergies in detail.
Not a great table. Made reservation several weeks in advance.
Service was wonderful and the food was outstanding.
Spectacular, inventive food, great cocktails and very interesting wine list.
Beautiful place. Fantastic drinks. Awesome staff. The flavor of the food is great. The portion size is miniscule!!
Everything was fine but we sat outside and with the construction going on it was a very far walk to get from the outside tables to the bathroom. I feel that the quality of your food is very good, but I also feel that for the price that you're paying the portions could be bigger.
So the quality is good, the service is good but once again I just think that either the prices should be lower on the food items or the portions should be bigger - that's all I'm trying to say.
I paid $52 for a steak which was very good but it wasn't nearly as big as a steak I would get at Ruth Chris for $52.
Great place for a special occasion dinner! Would highly recommend
Welcoming service! Sat outside… pleasant temp, beautiful setting! Loved it!
Highly recommend the pirogies! Got it as an app. Steak was good. Not a fan of the monkfish dish. Oysters were fresh.
Fantastic cocktails. Wonderful place. Great service!
The server was great and food was good but we won’t be back because we were not told ahead of time on phone or on open table that they require vaccine for inside dining, we would not have made reservation and drove all the way there to be forced to sit out in cold
The biscuits and heirloom tomatoes were great. The scallops weren’t hot. The server said that the kitchen would do it again, but she brought out the scallops I sent back. They were probably reheated. All the entrees were a disappointment including the shrimp my wife ordered and the pasta made for my daughter.
From the grand exterior I expected this restaurant to be a little fancier, but it's pretty informal. Limited menu but everything we had was very good.
My wife and I attended a show at the Mayo PAC, so we decided to try Jockey Hollow. We needed to show proof of vaccination and were asked to wear a mask to our seats. All this was fine, but if the customers are requested to do so, shouldn't the staff be held to the same standard. Almost everyone working there did, but one staff member wearing a black and white floral coat, who I believe was a manager, was not wearing a mask the entire time. This made my wife uncomfortable because all the precautions mean nothing if everyone isn't following the rules, especially a manager that interacts with many of the customers. The food was great, especially the biscuit appetizer, and our server did a great job, but our experience was uncomfortable because of the individual that wasn't wearing their mask.
Simply perfect all the way around
I've been to JC many times in the past. We were celebrating our 20th Anniversary. Food was just OK--the Burratta salad had just a few pieces of the cheese which is the main piece of it. Biscuits were bland and entrees were ok. Overall, not worth the $270 we spent. But the staff and service was great!
We had a beautiful anniversary dinner- wine and food was delicious and the music playlist was perfect!
Had dinner there last night; food was delicious. We had the oysters, they were plump, cold & lushes. We also had the smoked fish on Brioche, doesn’t sound good but was surprisingly delicious. For our entrees we got the strip steak which was so tender & flavorful. We also had the scallops & pork snitzell, both very good & the sides were great. For desert we got the peach cobbler with cornbread crust, so so good!!! The music was great & the service was excellent. The meal was pricey, but the food & service was worth it.
Delicious food but failed to go above in customer service when I had a reservation for 6 over two weeks out and they crammed us in to a table for 4. Our appetizers barely fit on the table and it would have been an appropriate gesture to give something back to us on the house for the inconveniences but nothing like that occurred, that's why stars removed.
Wine was lovely. Service was lovely. I paid 50$ for a steak that was sub par at best. Quality has gone down since the last time I dined there.
We had a wonderful meal on the outdoor patio. Each of meals (one seared scallops, one sea bass and one pasta with mushrooms and white beans) and each of our appetizers was wonderful. Also highly recommend the peach cobbler for dessert. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. We were entertaining an out of town guest and this was a great choice for dinner!
Fist time experience. Pretty much your average restaurant. High end image that failed to deliver. Only exception was staff. Great service, very knowledgable and welcoming staff.
Jockey Hollow has a lovely outdoor patio and it's perfect for a sunset dinner. Our server was excellent in checking in with us without being disruptive and he made some lovely recommendations for both food and beverage.
JH is a wonderful experience, with great and personable staff. Plus, our favorite NJ Chef has now joined the restaurant. We traveled from Trenton, and will be back again and again.
Very enjoyable evening... Food was expertly prepared.. unique and delicious. Wonderful service.
Delicious and innovative food. Service was top notch. Staff was awesome.
Excellent waitstaff and beautiful setting - lovely night out with friends before show at MPAC.
It was our first time dining here, and we will be coming back. The food was excellent and the service was stellar! We had tickets for a show at 7:30 at the Mayo PAC, so we made reservation for 6:00. The team of waiters kept us on time without feeling like we were being rushed. Highly recommend!
Food and cocktails were phenomenal
We've been promising ourselves to get to Jockey Hollow since Chris Cannon hosted pandemic Zoom wine tastings over the long winter of 2021. Sorry it's taken so long! We sat in the outdoor area and what a lovely setting overlooking the Vail mansion gardens and South Street. Service was outstanding. Food was amazing: Gruyere Biscuits to start. Scallops with cauliflower, leek and almond; Grouper with eggplant tahini. The prossecco was as described, a perfect balance between fruit and minerals, and of course, they order so much of it, it has the JH logo on the label! Would definitely recommend the JHBK patio as the #1 casual-elegant spot with a NYC flair in Morristown.
Always delicious and special; the staff is wonderful.
We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. Loved the ambiance. Service was excellent and food was great.
We had been regulars at JH but took a break with some less than pleasant experiences with service, food, and seating. We decide to try again and were very very pleased with all aspects. Cocktails, oysters, biscuits, burger, ravioli, and the incredible funnel cake inspired dessert.
Service was excellent and it is not lost on us how hard it is for the service industry to find and train staff. They did a great job and all seemed to pitch in.
The sommelier was great - he even brought over a sample of Armenian wine.
Had an excellent experience and worth the slightly pricy menu - well worth it.
Excellent service and like always great kitchen. They opened up the upstairs dining again!
We celebrated our son’s birthday. The dinner was fabulous all around and the proprietor, Chris Cannon, went out of his way to welcome us and provided guidance on some special champagne to have with our dinner! Z.
