Second visit to Jolene and the food was heavenly. Loved every dish. Fresh, delicious and incredibly tasty menu.
Had a really wonderful meal at Jolene, the service was outstanding and the food was excellent. The waiter was mindful of our dietary requirements, was attentive and made the whole dinner a great experience. Will be back very soon!!
Lovely local restaurant , really sweet and friendly staff & delicious food. We went for a group birthday dinner but the ambience is so nice here it would be perfect for a romantic date too. More vegetarian options would be a great addition
The food was spectacular! But the portions were smaller than I expected for the price. I'd still recommend this for anyone willing to spend a bit more on an amazing brunch!
Amazing food, wine and ambience! The pasta is amazing, as is the fish. 100% have to get the focaccia if you go!
Love Jolene - the food is amazing. However the noise in the restaurant was incredibly loud - it seemed really extreme for some reason on this visit. It took away from the enjoyment of the meal, I don’t know if there are ways the restaurant could sound proof the room better?
Food was good but not really special. The wine by the glass was poor. No variety, all tasting very similar and no real substance amongst them. More care and attention is needed in the ‘drinks’ department. Brandy was ordered and asked for in a warm glass - this was ignored. It’s reputation exceeds the experience sadly. However the service was exemplary.
Lovely setting but food was a let down. Pretty naff starter plates with very little to them, particularly for the price. The pasta dishes were fine, however when one of our party ordered the ravioli, he was asked by the waiter if he would like two as they are very small. We’re a group of friends based in Hackney, so are used to pricey small plates, however unfortunately the whole group felt disappointed by the quality of the food. There is a saturated market of restaurants of this sort in London offering much better grub.
Such a wonderful place. The food was super fresh and delicious. The portions where small, especially the starters so you need to take doubles if you are more than two. We are definitely going back and very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere overall.
Delicious pastries. Excellent coffee. Lovely service. Beautiful space. Thank you!
I’ve booked a table for 2 for the last slot available (21:15) and I was looking forward to it. However when we got there we were immediately rushed because the kitchen was closing in 15min. So we had to order under pressure and being told constantly that we weren’t ordering enough food. We ended up with a (small) table covered in plates and struggling to eat everything at the same time. Not a very enjoyable experience.
I would suggested an earlier last slot or extending the kitchen's working hours to avoid this. The food and wine was good but was ruined by circumstances.
Wonderful wine list and romantic ambiance. Staff is super kind and the pastries simply can’t be beat.
Although I was there for a special event, and so can't judge what a normal night would be like, I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The food was fantastic and the staff were particularly lovely (which considering my friend had to cancel at the last minute and I went by myself was much appreciated). Look forward to going back soon.
Jolene is one of my favourite London restaurants. A great hybrid, it has the right level of sophistication and comfort; perfect ambience and the food and wine is always outstanding. Love Tutto wines, and the regional meal with their wine producers was just perfect.
Lovely pastries and excellent service. Unfortunately, I found the menu quite limited on the day I went. The coffees were delicious but quite small.
Jolene is a local favourite. Great food and service. Always enjoy it. Only downside is when we get put on a squished shared table for dinner otherwise great.
Honestly this is my favourite restaurant in London. Incredible food every time, lovely cosy atmosphere. The flourless chocolate cake is incredible. It’s not the cheapest but the quality and taste of every ingredient is worth it for me. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Lovely space, tiny portions, big prices, great atmosphere, nice food. A good place to catch up with friends and snack.
Food was delicious and the table in the corner extremely nice. The portions weren’t that big and most of all it did feel a bit crowded.
Great place but it’d be amazing if it had about 5 fewer tables.
Lovely, high quality food. Always busy & good atmosphere
Attentive service despite being very busy. Stunning quiche with beautifully crisp base and rich, tasty filling. Generous slab of cheesecake followed. Great staff, thankyou!
Amazing great food great vibes it was incredible loved it. Highly recommend this place.
Great food and service
Beautiful cooking and pretty much impeccable service - it feels really buzzy and interesting, which is a great reflection on the staff and food. My only criticism is the wine list; although also very intriguing, it's got a price tag to match. I think it's off-putting to have nothing under £30 on the list - Jay Rayner would feel the same too. The Pinot Blanc from Alsace was wonderful, but was £33 for a carafe... good thing it was a special occasion. We also weren't shown the bottle when this was brought to us as we'd ordered a carafe, so I have no idea if it actually was what we had requested. I trust the staff completely that this was the case, but if you're paying that much, I'd like to have a quick read.
Wonderful food and service, wine list quite pricey!
every neighbourhood should have a Jolene. Great food, vibe and service.
Been to Jolene several times and it’s always great!
I’ve eaten twice at JB and the first time, the food was outstanding. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite as special that time.....
Jolene Bakery is a weird one. It’s undoubtably serving good food, lovely (very East London) styling, knowledgable staff and packed to the rafters...but there’s something missing. It’s a little bit ‘meh’.
I would suggest it to friends, but with the provisos that you’ll probably leave hungry, the wine will have burnt a large hole in your bank balance and at the end of the meal you’ll probably never go back.
Jolene’s food is delicious. Taste combinations are really explosive and spot on. But their portions are not only tiny but shrinking. Clearly they want people to be hungry after both a starter and a pasta dish and to order their main courses, but they are shockingly priced at £25 and less interesting. Besides this, we were seated next to a large and noisy group where two of the group were coughing irrepressibly over our drinks every few seconds. We asked if we could move but were refused. It ruined our dining experience.
Fantastic. My best meal this year! Highly recommended. Make sure you have a Negroni...
Food & wine both excellent, and our waitress was wonderful 💕
Beautiful low lighting, delicious Italian inspired food, friendly staff. We had a really lovely evening. Looking forward to returning.
Always a pleasure to dine at Jolene, whether it’s to sample their beautifully delicate pastries mid-morning or dinner with friends. The intimate, candle-lit setting creates the perfect ambiance for an enjoyable evening with loved ones, and the service is always outstanding! Definitely GO!!!
We had a great meal at Jolene. All of the dishes were flavourful and well presented. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wines were fine, although there was a fairly limited selection.
We will definitely be back soon.
Love it! The food is always exceptional and the staff are lovey and knowledgable. Your soap smells amazing!
This is just a caff really. Went for lunch for a friend's birthday - met by the now ubiquitous "brunch" menu, so eggy stuff and some other small plates. Dull menu. Ordinary food. Silly prices for wine. Only "bubbly" was £51...we'd have coped with all of that but the noise...impossible to talk. The acoustics are atrocious - as they will be if you rip out a ceiling leaving the concrete and metal innards, have stone (concrete?) floors and metal tables. This noise problem is a nightmare these days, doesn't happen anywhere else in Europe where they understand that even hip young things probably go out to eat and chat with friends. Would not go back.
Lovely, understated, great quality food & bread made on site.
Love everything! People and food outstanding
My favourite restaurant - amazing service, lovely ambience and delicious food. Love.
