The ambience and aesthetic of the restaurant is incredibly attractive and in no way pretentious. The staff are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food seems to draw from mostly traditional European style cooking, and the menu is well thought out and well executed.
Jolene, alongside its sister restaurants, are the kind of places which you could eat at every week and every occasion would be special.
I loved the place, food, people and feel of this place. What else to wish for :)
Utterly divine food. I am still dreaming about it. Can’t wait to find another excuse to eat at Jolene
Food was good but service rather slow and not so welcoming. Very noisy but nice place.
Booked Jolene for my birthday. The atmosphere / service was great!
But I didn't realise that they only have very light dished for Lunch. We were all hungry
and wanted to order dishes like pasta but they didn't have any.
We all enjoyed the Chicken dish but again it was more starter so we ended up going to another restaurant to have pasta afterwards.
I would highly recommend it though and would love to try dinner next time.
This was my fourth visit and every time it gets better.
Can't wait until my fifth!
Pity we only have the table for 1hr.
Really delicious brunch, want to go back to try their dinner menu.
I love this place. I would have eaten there twice on Saturday if my card had not been blocked.
Amazing service. Staff are super friendly and informative and the food was absolutely unreal. Only criticism is portions could be slightly bigger but apart from that it was perfect. My girlfriend loved it.
Lovely waitress, great service, wonderful food. Would recommend.
Consistently excellent food and experience, Jolene is a favourite for sure!
Finally got to eat at Jolene and it was one of the best meals I have eaten in London.
Honorable munchion to both the Monkish dish which was amazing and the spelt, courgette, basil and almond dish!
Great selection of pastries. The food options off the menu are is great. The coffee is good, the only issue is that they are very small. They are smaller than a normal coffee at regular cafe. Would come back again for the food.
Jolene is a neighbourhood restaurant on Newington Green. Stripped back and casual restaurant, with a daily changing menu. We ordered some spectacular small plates - most memorable were the fried sardines and pickled anchovies served with the gorgeous bread [it is Jolen's bakery, after all]. We then shared an exemplary monkfish course, which was accompanied by the best dish of the night - a spelt vegetarian "salad' that was rich and delicious, and more akin to a risotto. One of the best and most memorable meals I've had in a long time, I'm absolutely delighted to live nearby as Jolene is going to become a go-to.
Great wine selection, dinner with wine and some potent negronis was around £70 per head. Not bad for the sheer number of dishes we ordered. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious! Something to note though, on a Saturday night, I think couples either get sat at the bar or possibly sharing tables. My boyfriend has the sharing plate of pork belly on it's own, so I think if you were actually sharing you'd have to order a lot of sides. But they looked great anyway. Negroni's are a little on the stingy side too. But we had a great night, lovely ambience!
Absolutely delicious food and lovely waiting staff. Jolene had a really great buzz and was perfect for supper on a Saturday evening
The food was excellent, but let down a little bit by what felt like rushed service. We had plenty to eat but were all done within 90 minutes. It would be nice when booking to know that we would be seated at the counter. Also, maybe have another menu board on view for counter seats? It's a bit awkward to hover around other people's tables to look at it!
Neighborhood Gem!! Great ambiance and delicious food. Looking forward to returning!
Went to Jolene's for a special meal with family. Couldn't have been happier with the evening. Food was fantastic and a really nice informal way of sharing (we ordered some small bits, all three pastas and 2 larger dishes to share between 4). Wine was expensive but tasty. Service very friendly even when we turned up 30 minutes late by mistake. Atmosphere has a nice buzz even on a Sunday evening. Really nice for a special occasion.
Had a really fantastic evening at Jolene, food was superb as was the service, would highly recommend!
Delish, fresh and interesting Italian food - very cozy and friendly!
An awesome little local with great wines, amazing food and a cool vibe. Perfect Friday night spot!
Amazing food, atmosphere and the staff were so friendly which made the experience. Thank you.
Excellent dishes. Curried lentils and egg to die for, the spinach and feta filo tart was also a winner. Gazpacho very more ish. I don’t think this is the kind of place that takes the Micky - the food is genuinely well crafted and considered. Great for lunch, will try supper next!
Originally came because it was my namesake restaurant. But wound up finding it delicious! Pricey but worth it for fresh food. Probably the best I had in London. There is only so much pub food u can eat! The ravioli was out of this world. Every thing covered in cheese is an added bonus!
Absolutely fantastic food and service - only downside was noise level.
Ham and cheese toastie a little pricey but so worth it
My new favorite place in the neighborhood!
Staff were very indifferent. Despite advising them that 3 of our group of 6 were celebrating our birthdays on the day they never even wished us a happy birthday !!
Delicious! Came for brunch, had the eggs, potatoes and jamon. But would have liked toast included as a side, I was hungry about half an hour later. And a larger glass for iced latte would be good. Took some pastries away too and they were excellent. Will be back for dinner, thanks!
Best almond croissant in London!!!! Great service, lovely relaxed vibe and delicious breakfast. Great way to start our weekend.
Excellent food, attentive and helpful service, buzzing atmosphere. A very enjoyable evening.
Such a nice vibe
Great food great atmosphere and amazing wine! Could do with a few more vegetarian options.
Love this grub. Jolene, like it's sister restaurants, is just all round good.
Great vibe and atmosphere, laid back, friendly and stylish. Really great food. My only complaint is that it’s a bit expensive for the size of the plates - £27 for a main course, which they say is for two but not much bigger than a regular main course for one.
Every dish was fantastic, thank you!
It was a bit disappointing that when we arrived at 315 the kitchen closed 15 minutes later and most of the food was gone. We didn't know that was going to be the case and I wonder if they just shouldn't accept bookings that late.
Otherwise delicious and would go again.
Nice place for a light snack in a great location on Newington Green. Service and atmosphere are cozy and cool.
The cheese toastie is a delicious treat full of bechamel (with ham for meat eaters) and pastries and salads are fresh.
A little overhyped in my view ... but nice!
