Delicious food and great views, we will come again.
Food disappointing. No prawns in the monkfish and prawn dish and rice very undercooked. Meals accompanied by beef fat chips were presented with very overcooked chips (infact they were black).
We are returning customers having eaten here before with good food but not the case on this occasion.
Plus point is fabulous views from rear terrace tables.
We booked as a treat on our family holiday. We have 4 children aged 9, 12 and 15. The staff were wonderful and friendly and we were in the snug in the pub area. The young children ate from the children’s menu and our oldest from the adult. We had the taste of the sea and starters and they were all fantastic! It was a great afternoon meal and a brilliant part of our holiday. Would recommend to others to book in and go the Jolly Fisherman
Wonderful lunch. Amazing views and food. Helpful and friendly staff.
Lovely food, amazing view and we saw dolphins. The bathrooms needed a clean though.
Nice pub over looking the see. Limited parking in the village which can be a problem. We were lucky.
Lovely and relaxed meal. Great views. Lovely service.
Excellent food great service and a table with the best view you could possibly have overlooking the sea.
Not as good as previous visits service was excellent
lovely meal and atmosphere
food excellent-only minor grumble was fish pie sl dry, could have done with a little more sauce, but crab soup amazing.
We were outside on a beautiful evening although it got a little chilly. Stunning view. The food was lovely, recommend the luxury fish pie. Service was a little hit and miss; staff were friendly and helpful but I think, like many places, they may be understaffed with the self isolation issues that are plaguing us! I would definitely visit again though.
Great choice in the Jolly Fisherman . Outstanding views and fantastic food.
Staff were so nice and extra helpful.
Really enjoyed our visit . Looking forward to the next time
Excellent - well worth the journey will certainly visit again
Service was adequate. Waitress a little on the surly side of friendly. We had reserved a table a couple of weeks prior to our booking and were disappointed to find that we’d been placed by the main entrance.
The menu looked exciting. The food was good but not outstanding. Having read the chef’s backstory, I was a tad disappointed by the taste and presentation of the dishes. Not unctuous enough. Nearly on a par with our own home cooking, but not quite hitting the spot.
The team have however made a good job of renovating what was a very tired and outdated village pub. The surroundings are pleasant and emit the ‘gastro’ vibe.
Would visit again, recommend the outdoor terrazzo, arresting views of the North Sea and craggy coastline, situated just off St Oswald’s Way.
Love this pub been going for a long time . Lovely staff
Service was great, good food & ambience and really friendly staff. We liked the shabby chic decor. The view from the window is amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Will definitely visit next time.
Friendly staff, excellent food and fab views. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back again. Kipper scotch eggs were amazingly ( and I don’t like kippers but wanted to try something outside of my comfort zone). Excellent.
Food was distinctly average and the service was painfully slow. Great location and view, but that’s about it
Lucked out with a sunny day.
Great view and food.
Perfect location and a terrific menu. So good to see different options from the standard burgers and fish and chips. It was hard to choose, but I would recommend the chowder to start - superb.
We had a fantastic meal, we sat outside as we had our dog with us. We were lucky and had fantastic weather and amazing views. The food was fantastic, all three in our party said the same.
Lovely fisherman’s platter enjoyed by both myself and my wife. 10 out of 10 for food quality
A wonderful meal in a beautiful place
Nice food service was a little slow for us
I had the lobster salad … amazing , service was excellent . Look forward to my next visit
Third time of visiting as we do not live close by. Every time we visit the food is of the same high standard and the staff friendly and attentive. Seafood is obviously the main draw however everything on the menu is of the same high standard, book to avoid disappointment.
EV drivers - the village car park has two free of charge charge points in the corner next to the road.
Fabulous service and food. I would highly recommend it
Good menu and delicious food in a wonderful setting.
We have been meaning to have a meal here for ages and we werent disappointed. The food was delicious and exceeded expectation. Will definitely go back again.
Excellent again. Great food and service. Tables in the restaurant have great views but you need to book well in advance. 👍
Nice food, well served, shame about the parking problem. Worth the walk
You will need to book online as no bookings taken at the pub, but well worth it, I had the fish platter, what a treat. Good selection of beers and ciders. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Fabulous setting - sea views from terrace, lots of great fish/ seafood on menu & yummy puddings
Service was a tad slow but I think they may have been short-staffed so forgiven.
Best food ever.
Short staffed causing delays.
Totally recommend eating at the Jolly Fisherman. The good was beautiful in an idyllic setting looking out to sea. Very polite and efficient staff.
We were so happy to have a seat indoors on an very hot day. The dogs and us were welcomed and the service swift.
Lovely place, 3rd visit. Never disappoints.
Best meal out we've had since 2019! Great setting, delicious well-cooked food and fabulous service. The dog was well looked after too!
Delicious food friendly and efficient staff in great ambiance.
Busy, great food as always, good service. Pity you couldn’t get food at the bench tables at the front particularly as the garden was fully booked
