OK pub grub, albeit somewhat underwhelming. Servers were fine. A narrow selection of zero-alcohol cider/beer.

The food here is brilliant and several visits now have been absolutely brilliant. The value for money is fantastic. Service was slow though and the person that was serving us both at the bar and at the table was actually really quite rude and abrupt for seemingly no reason. Of course I don’t know who had come in before us and if this caused them to be behaving that way but it felt like we were a massive inconvenience. It was a shame because I’ve not experienced that here before.

The food was excellent, although portions were rather small. The service was extremely slow. We waited about an hour to get our meals, then when we asked for garlic bread for the lasagne, which we only asked for later as we didn't realise the portions were so small, we had finished our food and the garlic bread still was not ready, so we cancelled it. Our waitress was very helpful, especially when it came to helping one of our party to find a suitable gf dish, which we could not find on the website. But the staff levels really need to be addressed. This is the second time I have been to your establishment for a meal, and the previous time, at Christmas time, it was a similar story re the service.

We had Sunday Lunch last weekend, and seriously was one of the best we've had at The Jolly.... roast beef all round ( 7 in our party... 2 babies who had bangers & mash) Lot's of tender Roast beef... roast potatoes were amazing but the vegetables... roasted carrots, parsnips and mixed cabbage with peas were cooked perfectly!! Highly recommend... Can't wait to go back. Well done Chef and young ladies serving were great and nothing was too much trouble.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the food. We were sitting at our table for 30 minutes and hadn’t even been offered a drink let alone had any meal order taken. We got up and left disappointed. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy although we overheard that they were expecting a large party to arrive to dine in the conservatory. Poor service!
