Serving Italian influenced cuisine.
Visited on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet with only a few other guests in the restaurant. The food was good, I had mini rack of ribs (meat fell off the bone and the sauce was very tasty) to start. Main was chicken and prawn fajitas which were fine and still sizzling when they arrived and you could specify how spicy you wanted them which was a nice touch. Finished off with a cake dessert but that was still a little frozen inside but nice enough. Wine was not too expensive.
Overall cost was about £80 for 2 including wine.
Service was rather slow considering how empty it was and ambience was a little lacking as a result too, but on the upside it was quiet so easy to talk.
Worth a visit but perhaps on a night other than Sunday
The food was excellent and the service spectacular. The Canadian man that served us was really nice and nothing was to much trouble for him. Would definitely return and recommend.
Nice food with an ambitiously wide menu . I had lovely, very nicely cooked and flavoured swordfish and my daughter had a very large burger. The only disappointing thing was the garlic bread which wasn’t very garlicky.
The host was lovely and very entertaining without being intrusive.
Decor a bit tired but it was quite quaint and quirky.
Overall it was a lovely lunch with nice food.
Thank you for looking after us after racing last Wenesday your service was amazing nothing was too much trouble. The food was gorgeous i had the sirloin and chips with garlic mushroom sauce i dont know how you cook the chips but they were the best ive ever had. Background music that was playing was great too love a bit of float on by the floaters.! You will definitely be seeing us next year thanks again.Mick Smith.Mansfield.
First visit for us. New assistant chef in the kitchen and it showed. Meals were slow to arrive and mixed in quality. We had a very good starter and a very moderate starter. Similarly with the main courses, one was very good and the other again rather uninspiring. By the dessert course we only went for the Profiteroles and they were served still frozen as the pressure evidently mounted in the kitchen. We ordered a couple of liqueur coffees, one turned up cold and the other a glass of straight liqueur, so another disappointment. A number of customers on adjoining tables were struggling by this point. On the positive side, the Manager certainly recognised the problems, was very apologetic and made every effort to rectify the problems. Yes it was busy but not full and it was the start of the Cheltenham Festival race week so was to be expected.
We went here for my birthday and we had an amazing time. The restaurant wasn’t busy but we had fantastic service and the food was outstanding. All in all I can highly recommend this establishment and I give it five stars. Fabulous !
The whole evening was a very pleasurable experience and from the welcome we were made to feel at home and like nothing was too much trouble. can't say enough goods things about the whole team and meal was lovely as well.
Great food. Great veggie pizza. Suberb steak. Calamari was tender. Great service.
Thank you Scott. We'll be back again
We would absolutely recommend Joules Bar and Restaurant at Clarence Court Hotel, in fact we have already invited friends to come with us when they return from a cruise, as we can’t wait for a return to this lovely restaurant ourselves - the extensive menu was fully avaialable too. The food was outstanding, beautifully cooked and totally fresh, the service was excellent, as was our host, the wonderful conversationalist, Scott, with a goldmine of incredible information on popular music going back through many decades. The background music was awesome and inspired some excellent conversations making this a thoroughly enjoyable evening and experience all round. What an incredible find, lovely place, lovely food, magnificent host and a very affordable and extensive menu.
Had dinner and breakfast here while staying at the hotel and both meals were fab. Host was lovely and welcoming and accommodated our food needs.
