Kainos Greek Cuisine

Kainos is always great. Krystal is a great bartender. We live dining at the bar while listening to a fine band or duo. And Jeff always serves up something delicious. We love our evenings at Kainos and can’t wait for warm weather so can enjoy the big bands next to the Genesee.

Amazing atmosphere, spectacular service and attention to detail. Awesome food!

I really enjoyed the greek salad with kalamari, the plate was so huge it was basically like a meal. Krystal was my mixologist/server, she was really pleasant, orginally I wasn't supposed to sit at the bar but I am glad I did, next time I would sit at the bar just to have Krystal serve me again :).

Location was great. Service was good, they had chocolate flowers for Valentines Day. We splurged and spent 60$ on the Delmonico Steak, Lobster and Asparagus. The steak was terrible, no flavor, ridiculously chewy and we would never recommend it. Our food was out (after order) within 8 minutes, Very quick. The steak meal had two single asparagus with it, which were very, very limp - almost soggy, gross. The Lobster was okay. For 60$ nothing came with this meal. No salad, no bread, nothing. Such a waste of money. Do not order this, it was like Ponderosa/Buffet style quality meat! Just so you don’t think we’re bitter- we did not complain, we paid the 150$+ bill and never said a word. Our 17 year old son, who eats everything, took one bite of the leftover steak and said he lost his appetite. I had the chicken Parmesan and it was amazing,however, it also came with nothing. We ordered house Pinot and a Captain and Diet. It was definitely not Captain but a house Rum, which I would not have ordered had the waitress told me that. We did not drink our drinks. The house wine was not good. Overall we were super disappointed in our choices. We enjoyed the place, but be selective of the food/drinks you choose!!!

Taps not working. Server didn’t know what was going on. Incorrect orders. Metal kitchen scrubber piece found in food. Nothing done, no replacement offered. No manager on duty to speak to.

UPDATED —-The owner Jeff reached out personally and both apologized and satisfactorily resolved the situation. I believe this was an isolated incident.

This is my second time coming to Kainos, and I loved it per usual. The food is amazing. The service is amazing. It was easy to book a reservation. Love coming here.

This place is even more beautiful in the winter with waterfront views and amazing, unique dishes on the menu. Service was fantastic and friendly. A perfect date night. Can’t wait to return.

The food was excellent as well as the atmosphere, but unfortunately everything was overshadowed by poor service. It took our table 20 min just to get to water, a hour for our entrees and when it was time to go, the server took another 25 min just to get our check.

Music was great! Food was very good the service was very good ,owner came to our table to ask how it was .We will definitely be back.

Great food, staff was amazing. We ate in the igloo which was really cool.

Our waiter Anthony was amazing. He kept checking on us and the whole experience was just perfect for my daughter's birthday.

We sat outside, the ambience was excellent and the server was great. The biggest problem was that the food It really just wasn’t authentic Greek food. Too many sauces too many ingredients. I think of Greek food is being much simpler and fresher

Everything about our experience was perfect! The food was delicious! The patio was beautiful with the blue and white lighting, the nice heater that the chef/owner so nicely moved right next to our table, and the very pretty view of the bridge and city. Nate, our server, couldn’t have been better. He was attentive, but not hovering. He was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with making our choices. He was a good conversationalist and had a great sense of humor! The manager and chef/owner made us feel like special guests and absolutely made Kainos one of our most favorite girls’ night out spots. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone! Thank you!

Very clean facility great help and food. For me personally I would have liked a bit more meat in the Pastitsio however it was very good!

Cocktails, wine, service, ambience, music was great. Grape leaves were good, other food was kind of mediocre and uninspired

First time dining and exceeded expectations. It is hard to find Greek inspired food in an atmosphere suited for professional lunch or quality dinner. Great service and views of river.

Horrible service. Went for the 1st time with friends. Brought out 3 out of 4 of our meals and forgot our fourth. After 15 minutes we questioned the waitress and she ran back to the kitchen She returned saying "we don't have any more scallops ". So my friend ordered an appetizer which was terrible! We asked for a manager because it was just ridiculous. They sent over another waiter (not the manager) who was so rude and asked us if we were trying to get "free food?" Completely disrespectful!! Dessert was awful!! Waitress was so sloppy looking and hair down! WE WILL NEVER RETURN!!

Was wonderful to hear some live music and enjoy a nice dinner.

I thought the food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Didn’t like the fact that there was not a kid menu and the prices were very high for the quality of the food. Portions were generous but if you want to split they charge you extra money for the plate. Wouldn’t be a repeat for me.

Nate was outstanding! He is so attentive and personable. He went out of his way to make my friends Birthday dinner special. It was my first time and I will definitely be back!

My husband and I came here for our first time. We loved everything about it. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The cooks even went around to make sure everyone was satisfied with the food.

This was my second visit. Such a beautiful place and view. Food is fabulous. Clean and compliant with Covid regs. Wait staff is very attentive. Owners are fabulous, coming out to ensure that all was well. (This is a lost and very much appreciated art!) Loved my Mati cocktail. So pretty and tasty and loved the souvenir mati to take home. Greek food is very authentic. I know, I'm Greek. Kali Orexi!

My first time at Kainos was a good experience with one caveat. The music. It was a live band on a beautiful Thursday evening in late September on the Genesee River. The band was much too loud. In fact so loud I could barely hear my companion! Totally unnecessary. If music was needed it should have been soft jazz or something amenable to dinner conversation & the calm serenity of the river which we couldn’t enjoy over the obnoxious music. Rock n roll is inappropriate for that setting & ruined my experience which would’ve been fine without it

If you would like to eat outside enjoy live music and have great food this is the place to go.
