Kala delivers the BEST SUNDAY ROAST in Manchester, effortlessly. You would be a fool to miss out!
Ate there on Saturday. The waitress was very knowledgeable about both the food & wine. Attentive when needed but not over powering. The featherblade & Custard tart were the star of the show. 100% would recommend
The food was of an exceptional standard really good the meal was spoilt by a group of loud drunk people behind us its a pity the staff couldn't have moderated their poor behaviour
Definitely come again on a quieter night
Fantastic as always. our new go to restaurant in Manchester, The service, food and wine are fantastic
We booked Kala after reading the Jay Raynor review.
The service and ambience were great, friendly, highly efficient (even the request for tap water was actioned speedily with a bottle of it flavoured with mint leaves).
The food is interesting and delicious. My only gripe is the salted rum and caramel sauce with my pineapple and banana bread, and my wife’s starter were over-salted, to the point beyond a matter of opinion. Nonetheless the meal and night out was a great experience and I would go again. Would be nice if there were more choices on the menu for vegetarians/pescatarians.
Very very tasty food. Excellent wine . Very good, relaxed service
This was our first time at Kala, with me previously having visited Sticky Walnut and Burnt truffle. I can't recommend it highly enough. The service was outstanding, and the food as good as I had hoped. Portion sizes were excellent and my tastebuds exploded with every bite. We will definitely be back!
Everything was perfect - from a pre-dinner drink at the bar, to the starter, main and dessert (and of course wine). I think it will be a new residency.
Absolutely fine, a little slow with service if anything.
Mid week visit, would have been different at weekend, not in a good way
Set menu provide good value and food was of a very high standard. We ordered extras but didn't really need them as the portions were sufficient. Service was prompt and friendly. Would definately go back
Amazing Focaccia bread. Don’t miss the chance to order it!
Very attentive and friendly staff.
Friendly relaxed atmosphere, not too formal and well worth a visit. Set menu and main menu both had great options.
Oh man these guys just know what the hell they are doing.
Great food and nice to be able to hear a conversation over lunch. Good for an occasional treat.
Almost on a par with Hispi which is a great compliment as that's my favourite!
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at Kala. The £20 for two courses was brilliant value and the food was faultless, every mouthful was simply delicious. It is bright, modern and relaxed, service was just right, not too much in your face, so I can’t wait to repeat the experience.
one of the best Sunday roasts around, rolled pork belly was exceptional. crème Brulee was the best I've had. texture, flavour and size.
special shout out to the staff, exceptional from hello to goodbye
Heard good things about Kala prior to my visit with the wife and another couple of friends and was not disappointed. Service excellent, really attentive and personable staff and the food was delicious. Not cheap but not too expensive, we will definitely return!
Lovely meal & service, great to meet Gary and thank him for his lovely restaurants.... we love Hispi too!!
We went to Kala for our anniversary meal on Saturday night. We went relatively early so the restaurant wasn’t full yet, but there was still a nice buzz about the place and a good atmosphere. All of the staff were brilliant and couldn’t have done more for us. The food was excellent and we couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be visiting again.
Im no food blogger or have some remarkable pallet. All I know is when i have money to go out and treat my family to a meal I would like everything Kala and the Elite bistro Venues provide. Not only do they tick all the boxes they are front runners in this industry. My honest advice is don't believe the hype, Book a table and experience it for yourself coz its ace! Top tip: try not to eat the day you book as you will want to order the full menu its that good!
New bistro from a well-established team. Generous portions delicious food - especially very tender and succulent beef and delicious puddings. It' not cheap but it was full of young, well-heeled types enjoying themselves and I doubt there is much better of its type in the city.
Great food carefully prepared and delivered by enthusiastic staff. We had three courses from the lunchtime menu and chose different items. All very good and attractively presented. Only slight quibble was the noise level but you can’t choose your fellow diners! Staff did apologise and said they were aware of it and were looking at possible solutions for the future. May be an issue for anyone with a hearing impairment.
The restaurant was as I imagined , not keen on the plate glass windows ,rather akin to a gold fish bowl. We meet a friend for a drink in the bar , not easy to have conversation , sitting in a line , food was fine , would not put people off , no wow factor . N
A fantastic addition to Manchester. The food was absolutely wonderful and I love the fact that you can see the kitchen at work.
Interesting well presented dishes at fair prices served by pleasant and enthusiastic staff. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch.
Delicious food particularly the beef featherblade, attentive friendly service and a great value wine list.
Amazing food and service - will definitely be back!
Delicious food, extremely smooth service and a lovely atmosphere and decor. Espresso martinis were a delight. The halibut was amazing. Would recommend the choux bun - had a taste of it and it did not disappoint. Lovely for a celebratory meal! We were very well looked after, thanks so much to the lovely front of house staff.
Never fails to disappoint. Our first visit to Kala though we’ve been to several of the Elite Bistro restaurants. Food absolutely superb and service friendly and attentive without being OTT. Would recommend highly.
Having eaten many times in Wreckfish (Kala’s older scouse sibling) we knew we’d like it here. It didn’t disappoint. The octopus was the best I’ve ever had. Due to prior engagements we had to swerve dessert which was unfortunate as they read fantastic.
Modern British food in a good looking and relaxed dining room. The lunchtime specials offer great value and would entice me to return to try the full a-la-cart experience in the evening.
Lunch with a friend. Fantastic value for money. Delicious well cooked and beautifully presented food. We had 3 courses for £23 plus a side of gorgeous chips to share. Can not fault it. Very reasonable wine list and pleasant service. 5 stars without question
Cannot be faulted
Really friendly service and lovely food, would highly recommend
Fantastic Sunday roast in a gorgeous restaurant. The staff were lovely and every course was AMAZING, in particular the roast beef, which was melt-in-your mouth, cooked to perfection. Great selection of wine and cocktails and it was brilliant to at last find a restaurant that gets the pate-to-bread ratio absolutely spot on for my starters. We'll be back again soon!
Amazing food. Highly recommend. Amazing food. Highly recommend. Amazing food. Highly recommend.
Really great food and atmosphere! Staff were amazing too, would highly recommend! Thank you
The early dining deal seemed good but the meal got expensive as drinks aren't cheap and sides aren't included.
The food was good.
The service was good apart from when we were trying to leave and pay.
Gorgeous food and lovely service hope to be back again soon. Chocolate tart was to die for!!
Lovely fixed price lunch, with a few extras washed down with a couple of glasses of wine, prepared & served by great friendly staff, will always go back at the slightest excuse!
