Bland overpriced food. Mains and naans were poor with no flavour- we had the goat and butter chicken. Starters of soft shell crab and chicken tikka pie were better but smothered in compote which made them feel like a dessert.
We really enjoyed dining at Kanishka, a welcome find in London! The food was excellent, an extensive menu with lots of vegetarian options. All the food had excellent depth of flavour and a good amount of spice. We will be back soon to explore the tasting menu!
We had the tasting menu, it was very disappointing had been looking forward to it for weeks, flavours were flat on most of the dishes and were quite rushed at some points. There isn’t really anything positive about the tasting menu.
First indian tasting menu i have done and all i can say is UNREAL.
Enjoyed trying dishs i may not have chosen otherwise but i ate everything and was plenty full when we had done.
Service was a bit odd. Forgot drinks etc but it was very busy and tbh didnt detract from a quality night out.
Fab. Loved it. Melt in mouth food. Wagu bang bang
It was super busy, we waited a while for our table. They were understaffed and the ones that were working were very stressed and very busy. Food was good but feel it was overpriced .
Food was ok. Not as nice as Benares
A great standard of food.
The chocolate desert ball was one of the best things ever.
Food was amazing. - especially the monk fish an lamb biryani
Outstanding as always.
Tastes on another level of brilliance! 11 out of 10!!
What a fantastic meal we had for my birthday at Kanishka last night. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I would definitely go again for a special treat.
Lovely food beautifully presented some of the dishes were a bit overpriced and there was too much potato. Overall a really enjoyable evening.
The most amazing evening from start to finish. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and took the effort to make my husbands birthday a special one.
We had the vegetarian tasting menu and we both said it was the best food we had ever tasted.
Really lovely to see such a buzz in a restaurant on a Monday night
The food wasn’t great, I’ve had better Indian food
lovely venue for curry and champagne. service is outstanding.
Great experience. Really enjoyed the food.
Chicken pie in starter was big big hit. Samosa chat was delectable and Dal and paneer makhni yummy
This is a very curious restaurant, with no identity, ambiance and very poor service. We have been waiting to come here since last year when I had planned to come with friends to celebrate my 40th but COVID scuppered those plans. So this evening out was highly anticipated. The restaurant was very bright, no mood lighting, we felt like we were in a cafe. They were playing French bistro Music, which for an Indian restaurant was so odd. The service was poor- took 35 mins to get our first drinks, it was also very rushed. Our starters were out 10 mins after ordering and the staff were pushing for our mains order, which we objected to otherwise we would have been in and out within an hour. The food was fine but highly over priced for what it was. I feel gutted to write this review and I really wanted this place to be special. Sadly it wasn’t. I have had equally as good Indians in Southall for a third of the price. I wouldn’t recommend nor would I visit again.
Overpriced food. Lacked flavour in our mains. Coctails so small and overpriced.
The food was outstanding and that goes without saying but the service was commendable and the chef coming to check on the guests and have a chit chat was really admirable. Definitely going back again.
Amazing food and service.
Fantastic choice available for meat lovers and vegetarians. Went a la carte but seriously tempted to do tasting menu so I didn’t have to pick!
Service was absolutely first class, attentive without the “how is the food?” interruptions. We couldn’t manage it all so took some delicious black daal home and just had it for breakfast. This is quite an expensive restaurant but well worth it as a treat.
They lost me at hello
Arrived for our reservation, empty tables on the main floor. Taken down to basement level. We would have been the only table of two there. Asked to be reseated. Taken upstairs and sat next to service door and order station. Meanwhile empty tables for two sat vacant. And still vacant when we left.
We usually choose to dine at the Cinnamon Club and decided to try this restaurants as we were excited to experience all that Kanishka had to offer. Sadly disappointed, hard to recover from such a negative welcome at the door. So wont be returning but will return to the Cinnamon Club where service is key and food is exemplary
Great food, nice drinks super service. Perfect for a celebratory meal.
Nothing short than amazing. From the time we walked in to the time we left, everything was amazing.
Thank you to the whole team.
The food was nothing short of sensational. I have always loved modern Indian food and Kanishka doesn't disappoint. Every mouthful was a tease with well-matched, varied and interesting flavours. Stand out moments? The lamb momos and monkfish.
The service was also first class. Non-obtrusive but friendly and helpful on request. And it is worth asking them.
Fantastic. I will return.
Great restaurant and gave my partner and I the most splendid experience for our second year anniversary. Thank you to the gentleman that served us. We had a special night.
As always an interesting and innovative menu bringing out the colour and spices of Indian food. Service spot on - welcoming, friendly but remaining efficient. A joy to experience the culinary delights of Atul Kochhar’s cooking.
Having eaten at Atul’s pop-up restaurant at Pub In The Park, Bath I had high expectations and unfortunately I don’t feel my main course lived up to anything as good as I had in Bath. The set lunch menu on offer which I incurred an extra £6 for a starter & an extra £10 for my main dish. The starter was truly amazing (prawns) but my main meal (chicken & lamb) was disappointing. It was a nice experience but I don’t feel I would go back. The highlight for my wife was her cocktail which she thoroughly enjoyed!
Myself and husband went for our 37th Wedding Anniversary and it didn’t disappoint.
Nothing was too much trouble. They brought us out a Chocolate Cake decorated with Happy Anniversary which was lovely, even the chef from the kitchen came up and spoke to us.
Had a wonderful time and young chap that served us was lovely ( sorry I didn’t get his name)
Definitely will Return.
The £45 menu is definitely value for money! We also added an extra starter being the chicken tikka pie which is to die for! Live let experience would come again - the waiters are a bit lacklustre but nothing deal breaking! Highly recommend
King Kanishka menu - perfectly cooked and beautifully presented dishes. A balanced amount of spice, not overwhelming. Delicious passion/prosecco cocktail! Dessert was far too sweet for my liking and I would have preferred a traditional kulfi or Gulab Jamon.
Nice staff and a pleasant ambience .
Amazing food & friendly attentive staff. Had a very enjoyable experience.
Great value sharing menu including a drink.
But its the food, spicing, presentation and flavours are so worth a visit.
Atul Kotchha triimps again.
Great quality and innovative food. Great experience.
Started off great, but once the restaurant filled in the service and attention to detail declined.
Great service, music not so loud which allowed for easy conversation. The sound choice also good. All in all a great ambience. The bartender was a bit energetic and loud with shaking and mixing but it wasn't too bad.
The food was good, the portions were excellent. I have scored the food 4 rather than 5 as it could have been served warmer. The food was tasty but at best lukewarm.
I would recommend a visit.
Lovely place to eat. Tasty food and great customer service.
A fantastic experience, from the friendly welcome on arrival, great cocktails at the bar and that's before you get to the amazing menu.
This was on my bucket list and I wasn't disappointed, the Gangtok Momos followed by the Venison were a triumph, the venision almost melted in the mouth and the jadoh and accompaniments worked brilliantly.
The attentive and friendly staff made the whole experience a night to remember.
A real treat which I would certainly recommend and would love to return.
Customer service was great but food was pretty expensive for that x
