Karnavar Ratings and Reviews
We had the dinner 2-course set menu which you have to order between 6 and 7pm. The food was excellent with delicate flavours. Service was excellent: attentive without being over-attentive. This was our first visit to see what the restaurant was like but we'll definitely be going again, possibly to try its tasting menu.
The food dishes were delicious, the service brilliant and the restaurant people were caring.
We ordered Chicken Lababdar and it was just yummm !!!
The Lamb biryani was well cooked and the succulent. We also ordered Bombay Speciality (Vada Pav) and our friends loved it.
This was a friends Meet and we had a lovely evening.
In all honesty I've travelled the world and don't think there's a better place that serves good food excellently presented by smiling attentive staff that would beat this.
Chef owner is a master chef and even though I've not met him I'd like to shake his hand and ask him to open a restaurant in the midlands
Having not checked the menu before my visit I was a bit concerned when I arrived and opened it at the restaurant, because it is quite small. However there were still a number of dishes I would have chosen. Long story short it was definitely a matter of quality over quantity as both the starter (amazing) and my own main and my wife's main were unbelievably good. I cant remember the last time two dishes were that good in one place.
Would highly recommend and definitely will return.
I can see the great reviews (which drove my visit in the first place) are fully desired. What a fantastic place to eat.
My only feedback would be that it is surprising for a party of two to have service automatically added to the bill. I always tip and there was never any doubt I was going to tip after this experience, however I would like the option to decide that myself.
Karnavar is a must visit!!
I came across lots of good reviews so was tempted to give the place a try. I have to say I wasn't disappointed, the food was really nice, the menu was quite different from the places I usually frequent, in a good way as it had food from different regions, there was a nice seafood selection that pleased my date as she likes seafood and had never tried Indian cuisine before this. I wasn't disappointed by the price, but I would say I've seen better pricing for similar cuisine and experience in the area, so maybe I would think about going back depending on budget and occasion. Service was prompt, polite and friendly.
Croydon's best Indian restaurant (perhaps Croydon's best restaurant overall?) with a creative take on Indian cuisine. The sardine salad starter, Pork Koorgi and clove-smoked lamb mains and the cinnamon cake desert are stand-out dishes for me.
Always excellent and courteous service and very good (Indian) house wines.
A very pleasant restaurant, staffs were very friendly and attentive. Decor were modern and fresh. The Food waiting time were reasonable and were very nicely presented. They do make an effort to make you feel a little bit special. Price is a little bit high, but I suppose you pay what you get. Will certainly return soon.
Love this place. went for my bityhday with some friends and family. Sunday is the buffet and the food was as good as ever and the service was great. They even brought me a birthday dish with candle at the end!! Lovely afternoon and one of the best places to eat in Surrey!
