The quality of the food was absolutely excellent . That on abeyance was very sexy low light and sunset boulevard great combination. Service was good they we're definitely on it. Only thing I didn't like whereas you can only get a table that seats 6 also your table is only for one and a 1/2 hours finally the food came out very quickly before the drinks so out of 10 stars and give it a 7 and a 1/2
Favorite place for awhile but haven’t been since COVID. My fusion was different, the portions seemed smaller and the most disappointing was the hand crab roll did not taste like it use to.

Our waiter was polite but was ungrateful for the tips which made me very uncomfortable. Probably will be back next year, not as enjoyable as TAO on Selma Blvd in Hollywood.
Desert was nice, steak is not enough to fill you up, popcorn shrimp was amazing.
It took us forever to convince them to give us the 2nd floor seating. That’s why you got there, to see the views of the city. No one wants to sit on the first floor with random pedestrians walking by and street noise. Finally they allowed us to sit on the second level with beautiful views after talking to the manager Andrew. I normally love this place, but the food this time around was suuuuuper salty. Like everything we ordered had tons of salt in it. I couldn’t even really enjoy it. We even had to send one of the dishes back and asked them not to put sauce on it. All in all, I think it’s a great place. But if I go again, I will make sure to tell them in my reservation to sit us on the 2nd level and when I order day to hold the salt

Restaurant wasn’t busy but yet it took a long time to get something as simple as a clean plate. Food was mediocre for the prices and drinks were okay..delicious but hardly any alcohol in it.
My first experience at Katana was very lovely. It was to celebrate my little brothers entrance for the marines! The food was amazing, something outside of the box, not my usual rolls from little Tokyo but it was very good. I don’t know if it’s always noisy due to bikers riding and passing by. Overall the experience is nice. I would come again.
Terrible service!! The waitress got our order wrong at least 3 times and we ended up over-paying because she added more food to the bill that was never ordered. She did not bother to fix it and gave a weak apology.

We had a reservation for our anniversary at 9:30 pm during this COVID-19 situation and they kept us and everyone else waiting for an hour with no distancing and it was horrible.

Great service and food
Pros: Food was great and there were some new practices in place for Covid safety. Masks are required and there were partitions between some tables but not all.
Cons: A lot of Covid safety measures but not practiced at restaurant. There are multiple checkpoints for entry. At the 2nd checkpoint, one of the hostesses pulled her mask down to speak (like why??!!!!). I guess she saw our faces and realized it was best to pull back up. At seating, we were walked to a dirty booth, which means there was no thorough cleaning from last diners likely the night before as we had a reservation at opening. We then asked for another booth and it too was dirty but clean enough where we pulled out our own disinfecting wipes to clean surfaces. Also, our server did not have on a face shield as stated in the Covid safety measures listed on site.
Overall, it was a decent experience but I won't risk my life to dine there again. Since dining out is not essential, I prefer to dine at places taking all safety measures to minimize the spread. The website makes you think they are doing everything possible to keep diners socially distanced and as safe as can be considering the pandemic.

Sitting curbside to dine at a fine-dining restaurant is probably not for me in the future.

INCREDIBLY disappointing service for a Wednesday night dinner. I arrived when the restaurant was still not crowded inside , but had to stand in a CROWD of people to get checked in. I asked the hostesses multiple times to ask the crowd to move because I didn’t feel comfortable standing so close to them given COVID. They did not help me, it took ten minutes to check in even though I had a reservation.
Staff rushed through, forgot basic details like bringing sushi with soy sauce. I had to ask for everything. Overpriced with zero service level.

My issue was though I understand we have covid regulations, their was still a lack in attention to detail. Tables weren’t prepped, gas tanks were showing then hidden once a complaint was made.
I’m addition what was really disappointing is they say all Black ppl, on the lower terrace. All white, at the top. The Asian and White ( ponytail) manager stood at the top onlooking and speaking poorly of the patrons. The eyes not body language lie.
White diners walked by and went upstairs giving the same energy that of the 60’s segregation.
When I asked the Maitre D, she said their reservations were made day of. When I asked two diners when they made the reservation, they mentioned earlier in the week. In addition, as to where you sit has no bearing on the time a reservation is made as their isn’t an option in preference and with new regulations, whatever table is available is where one should be sat. No based on skin color or attire.
This is problematic and I will address accordingly. There is no tolerance for this. Our fellow African American’s spend their money the same way all others do?! Correct?
Though I love the food, I won’t return. Ever.

We went to Katana to celebrate our Anniversary. Katana called us and send us 2 text to confirm our reservation and they asked if it was a special occasion and I said to them 3 times it was! They never acknowledged that it was our Anniversary when we got to the restaurant and not even when we finished with our dinner. Due to COVID seating is outside and they put us in lower terrace, but I asked if we can sit upstairs which has a nicer view and they said no because all tables where taken, which it was not true! To top the evening my husband and I felt we were in a war with the flies 🙄 NOT Good!
I mentioned to the Waitress about the flies and all she said was...Oh yeah, we are having problems with the flies! She did not even asked if we wanted to move to make the situation a little bit better and to top it off a fly went into my drink, so I told her and she Brought me a new drink and she did not even removed the drink from our bill. At this point all I wanted was to leave. There are to many other wonderful restaurant in LA. to deal with this kind of service!!! We have been to Katana many times and it was my favorite restaurant, but with this experience we were VERY disappointing with everything! Probably will not go again. It seems like no one really care about us! Very sad😞
