Kaviar Sushi Bar

Reservations are made, and I showed up to the location with my date, and the restaurant was closed. The city had enacted new COVID-19 measures and the restaurant did not get back to me and let me know that it would not be opening for the day. It was a waste of my time which I did not appreciate. This is an open table and restaurant fail.

I made it to the restaurant and it was closed. No warning. No one called to let me know. We travelled 40 min to Pasadena and paid for parking only to find out it was closed. Thanks for the road trip?

The service is horrible. Sat down at 8:30. Got our cokes at 9:40. Our food only one appetizer came and we were asked to leave god the curfew. Never again would go here. Management and service sucks.

The food was impeccable! The waiter was super friendly & very knowledgeable about the menu! I Highly recommend this place!! It’s great for a date or just a night out with the ladies!

The staff was awesome and friendly! Made a reservation and got seated promptly! The menu had good options and the food was delicious. I ordered the build your own mule and it was sooo refreshing! I would definitely refer this restaurant to family and friends.

The ambience is really nice. The staff was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter, Tristan was amazing! His recommendations were on point and didn’t disappoint. The staff said after COVID they will have live music and a DJ! I am so glad a place like this is in Pasadena! I will definitely be back.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted and treated like special guests. We were lead to our secluded and romantic table at the very top of the stairs. Our view felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.

Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, attentive and had great recommendations. I like that he spoke from personal experience, that tells me a lot about how this establishment treats it's staff.

The food came out and looked like art! It was beautifully presented and each better than the next. The sushi is traditional, flavorFUL and FRESH! This place knocks it out of the park with the combo of flavors and with the quality of their fish!!!

The drinks (super affordable, $10-$13) were delicious and uniquely served and plentiful.

This place is going to give all other sushi places in Pasadena a run for its money!

This was an anniversary date to remember. We will be back.

Really fresh sushi and great services would’ve been nice if they mentioned our note that it’s our 20th wedding anniversary. They’re right next to tea house! It’s really fortunate that they have an atrium foe dining during pandemic. I prefer the sashimi here to sugar fish even though portions are smaller.

The food was great. The wagyu was otherworldly and such a treat.

This place is amazing. It opened about a month ago but it’s a must try. They have an assortment of options everything is plated beautifully and tastes amazing from the tapas to the sushi rolls to even the drinks. The staff is wonderful, waiter was so friendly and extremely helpful w recommending items to try. Yes it’s a little pricey but honestly food was delicious fish was quality and come here for a nice dinner. I will definitely be back here soon!

A bit noisy and they were out of a couple menu items. Service was pretty friendly and fast, the food was good but not great, just didn't meet my expectations for the price.

food was delicious! maybe overpriced, but fun for a date night. dessert and drinks were mediocre, but fine. servers were all very nice/gracious, but a bit clumsy (forgot to put in orders, spilled a drink). would def go back and recommend!

They're trying pretty hard to be accomodating during these Covid times, and I give them a lot of credit for that! BUT... I want to be seated on time when I use Open Table, not 15 minutes late.
Also, I don't know about you, but do you prefer your tuna sushi to be ground up? Because that's the one thing I sincerely dislike about spicy tuna. Well, I'm talking about albacore and all kinds of tuna - they ground it all. So that was really dissatisfying to all of us. Besides that, they put sauces on their salmon sashimi, inside their salmon hand rolls, and other places you normally expect it to be just sushi. But the people working there are so lovely and I would definitely give it another try - I just know now what to avoid!

Still have many kinks to work out on overall service and food.

My wife was very satisfied with the lobster salad and I found the steak to be both tasty and creative. We both love shishito peppers. But my wife was not as impressed with the eel, which disappointed me because while I am not not a sushi eater my wife really enjoys good sushi. Perhaps a different sushi would have been more to her liking. We were both impressed with the condensed towels that spring up when treated with hot water.

Service was great. Quality of the sushi was great. Price of lunch was on the expensive side of things. If you're looking for really good sushi with really good service but expensive prices, this is the place for you.

Best sushi place in town!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!! I dream about the Lemon Roll! Oh, and the customer service was amazing.

We were excited to try Kavair tonight. We made and arrived a few minutes early. We were promptly seated and then everything went down hill from there. We waited 20 minutes for a server to take our order but nobody came despite asking for a server five or six times. And despite not having our order taken for 20 minutes, servers kept bring us other people's food. It was clear nobody was in charge and nobody knew what they were doing.

After 20 minutes of no service we chose to leave. And since we couldn’t just stroll over to another restaurant (as we could have pre-Covid), our night was pretty much blown.

Oh, and one is the wait staff had her nose sticking out of her mask - so maybe it's good we weren't served. Very disappointed.

Great service and food !

Sushi was good but expensive for what you got. Very good oysters but also quite expensive. Would go back for a special occasion, but a little over priced for just a Friday or Saturday sushi dinner.
