Very good food and sake , excellent, helpful and charming service in a very attractive room.
Food was good, especially the sushi which was excellent. I would not recommend this restaurant though due to the complete lack of atmosphere. Visited on a sunday evening and the place was empty. We had to ask them to put on some music so that it felt less awkward. Food was served promptly and immaculately and service was very polite. Restaurant has potential but they really need to work on their ambience.
Service and the ambience is great!! However the salad included in the lunch set was too salty. Other than that everything’s perfect.
The food at Kazu is excellent and authentic. The service was fine however when we asked if we could have the bottle of tap water on our table so that we could pour it ourselves, we were told 'no'. This was quite frustrating as we had to constantly bug the waitress for more water and occasionally she forgot when we asked her whilst she was serving other customers. I am not sure why we were not allowed to have the water on the table. Aside from this, everything else was perfect. The food here is incredible and possibly one of the best Japanese sushi restaurants in London.
Kazu is always excellent and deserves to be much better known!
I booked Kazu for last minutes on same day .Food was ok but bit expensive for what was it.
Fantastic food and service. Amazing sushi chef.
Kodi and his team delivers a personalised high quality experience, from food to service.
Excellent food and service
Attentive staff and delicious food. We sat over looking the sushi making! Service was fast and all staff were friendly and helpful. A definite recommend
By no means the best sushi or service that I’ve had in London, but all in all it’s solid.
It was good
I have been to Tokyo several times, and this is as close as it gets in London! This is the real deal! Everything we tried was next level. I would definitely love to come back!
Kazu is excellent - traditional and more modern Japanese classics in elegant surroundings.
We sat at the bar and witness Sensei work his magic, all our starts of spinach gomae , spicy wakame went down beautifully, the batter in the tempura moriwase was light crunchy pillows of love clinging to fresh prawns , salmon, aubergines etc. Our mains of chirashi was a generous portion of separate glistening rice with a perfect bite each topped with toro, tako, shake, ikura, hamachi, amaebi - super fresh and tasty (my dining partner forsook the shoyu on the basi that the fish was tasty enuff) - suffice to say we polished every bit and rice grain. The bar chair were surprising confy and we sat there for about two hours - we could have easily done three. Highly recommended.
The food was good and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was a bit on the cold side though but that didn't affect the quality of the food.
Food was good but the portions were tiny and the prices were that of a Nobu or Roka standard. Not worth it for the price unfortunately.
Aside from the owner/manager being extremely pleasant, everything else was rubbish. We got sick from the Charlotte roll. The ‘Jalapeños’ in the Yellowtail Jalapeño dish were not Jalapeños. There was little to no flavor in anything. The Sashimi wasn’t cut cleanly or correctly. Everything was mediocre.
Kazu is outstanding. The staff are excellent and the owner is super cool. Their knowledge of sake is brilliant, and they go out of their way to give you an overall good experience.
The food at Kazu was excellent, but the service leaves a lot to be desired.
Maybe it's because I didn't try any of suchi/roll but I'm left bit underwhelmed, especially for the price.
Grilled mackerel was indeed fresh and of high quality and was the best of the selection of dishes I chose.
I'd suggest pork/kimchi stir fry should be treated more as a side dish to go with rice rather than an independent starter dish because it is by nature rather salty and punchy in flavour.
The biggest let down was udon. I love udon and have been trying quite a variety, from instant to proper restaurant offers, and the broth here were the blandest I've tasted so far. I'd suggest people to skip udon here.
My friend who accompanied me to the dinner was actually quite pleased with the dishes (he didn't have udon, to clarify), and probably I should give it a second go, to try their sushi this time.
The restaurant was empty when we arrived. My partner and I chose the most expensive dish on the menu, when it had arrived. We were truly shocked by the small amount of fish on the plate. To make up for the disappointment, we ordered two more dishes. All three dishes were flavourless. The bill came to £80 overall. The waitress realised she wasn’t going to get a tip of 12 percent. She came back to us and highlighted that we hadn’t tipped her. We made it clear that it does state on the receipt that tips are descretionary. For doing very little, we thought the overall experience was the worst restaurant outing we’ve ever had.
Always a pleasure to visit Kazu! Lovely food and lovely staff (shout out to Chef Kodi and Yumiko!)
Authentic Japanese eating experience in every way. chicken gyoza which were the best we’d had outside Tokyo. Great teriyaki salmon and tempura prawns. All beautifully served. No background music meant we could actually have a good chat! Excellent in every way.
Food was lovely and service knowledgeable and really attentive.
Top quality food. Quite a small compact restaurant. Choice of table or bar seating watching the chef.
Excellent Sushi in a lovely atmosphere. We greatly enjoyed our in prompt dinner choice.
We had the lunch menu and an extra order of spicy tuna roll. The quality of the fish is sublime, the rice the perfect texture and rather generous portions of fish on the nigiri. Attentive and efficient service was appreciated during a weekday lunch with the office beckoning :)
Very delicious food, although as with all sushi places it was rather pricey. A place for a special occasion.
Excellent food. Great service
Well we dined here twice in 3 days with friends.
It was that good ....the menus and set lunches were varied and very good value - with some really special dishes; the blackened cod was sublime and the Beef Ponzu quite stunning.
Try this restaurant if you enjoy Japanese food.
You won’t be disappointed.
Really delicious food (the black cod was particularly tasty), great sake and amazingly nice service.
I recommend sushi rolls and sashimis over hot food. The fish and seafood was so so fresh. Amazing!
Nice little addition to the Japanese scene in London
Service was a bit pushy, trying to get us to order more dishes when we really didn’t want them
Went there for dinner with four of my friends. Restaurant shares the same name as my first name so I've definitely had to check out. Minimalist clean decor and not too big a place. Chef's selection of sashimi and sushi very good indeed - and the Eel Kazu rolls went down well with my friends. Mackerel was a hit for me. Seared fish salad, yellowtail sashimi in zingy dressing with hint of spices, assorted tempura and some seaweed bowls well made. Bottle of pecorino wine to share. Full marks for food and friendly service - and yes I'd look to check out other items on future visits incl. lunch menu.
Absolutely fantastic sushi and service!
Enjoyable evening. Excellent sashimi and a very well matched Sake pairing menu.
Generally good quality food. Tasty and authentic Japanese. A bit on the pricy side. The early dinner and lunch deal are value for money. Homemade desserts are delicious.
Really good one
