At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Kelp is a nice restaurant away from the buzz of the city centre. the food is lovely and as the name suggests serves a variety of fish. The ambiance is good and staff helpful and friendly. The portions are served as tapas and there is enough food served to share

Some dishes really nice such as salad, coley others tasted a bit bland and needed more seasoning such as scallops . Think I was just unlucky regarding my choice of dishes I ordered. Really nice to have a gluten free cheesecake which was lovely , although more sauce required with it . Overall I would return to try other dishes on menu however wouldn’t rush back

This was my second visit to Kelp , the first being an enjoyable lunch booked by a friend . This second visit was with my husband and I was slightly disappointed . Atmosphere and service was good , wine by the glass was slightly overpriced I thought , one of our small plates was forgotten and our ‘sourdough’ bread was dry ! My husband was disappointed with his pork belly/fish dish but that may just be wrong food choice on his part . Just a bit underwhelmed with our pre theatre experience.

As always, an excellent meal. Excellent food - some old faithfuls on the menu, but also new seasonl dishes and something for everyone. Service is always attentive but never intrusive, and staff know their stuff. All this topped off with a easy going, relaxed vibe that invites you to linger and chat. Perfect!

Our first visit to Kelp was very pleasant. Staff - very welcoming and explained the menu in excellent detail. Food - absolutely delicious if a little pricey, however that wouldn’t stop us from going back. Atmosphere - relaxed and very comfortable. Overall our experience was extremely positive and would highly recommend it.

Although I enjoy tapas, I'm not sure that serving fish in this style works. Every dish seemed to be more about presentation and fancy sauces than the fish itself. Tasty enough, but there wasn't a chance for any one fish dish to be tasted properly. Yes, fish is expensive, but I felt these dishes, and the market menu, were pricey.

One of the best meals we’ve ever eaten, no exaggeration! We started with oysters and then ordered several small plates (plus sides and desserts) to share. The seafood was fresh and prepared in unique ways. The flavor combinations were amazing! If you’re a “foodie,” this restaurant is a must if you’re in Glasgow. Impeccable service from attentive and knowledgeable staff!

Food was amazing! Found it a bit strange that the food came out at different times. We wanted to experience all the food together. Was completely finished then one of our sides came out. Had to ask twice what was going on. Would have been good if it was explained at the start so we weren’t left confused. The food made up for it.

Wonderful experience at Kelp. Three of us dined on the Market Menu so we managed to try 6 of the 8 choices. The stand out dishes from this were the mussels and chicken & tarragon meatballs. We found the sardines bolognaise very heavy. We also ordered the Orkney crab doughnut as I had read so many great reviews. This did not disappoint. The flavours were wonderful. The service was excellent. Overall, a lovely dining experience.

What a joy to eat at Kelp. The food is utterly delicious. Started with the oysters - fresh mouthfuls of zingy flavour! Great choices for the two dishes and a side. The broth the mussels were served in was a tasty dish in itself! Spicy plum dessert was a real treat too! Great service with a smile. Can't understand why we were the only customers on a Friday lunchtime!

A fabulous meal, fresh, original and so tasty! Pricing is great for the quality of the produce! Complemented by a gorgeous Italian red recommended by our lovey and knowledgable waiting staff. Top marks to all staff, waiting and, of course, kitchen. I have booked again with 2 different friends and would heartily recommend. Scottish fayre at its glorious best!

Food is delicious flavour combinations a surprise but they don’t overpower the fish or seafood. Although small plates you only need a couple especially if having the lovely fresh bread and sides. A good wine list well priced for the city. A nice bistro atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.
