Kelseys Original Roadhouse - The Queensway
I love this location! Food is always amazing and the staff are great!
Plus the ‘new’ renovations are wonderful.
We were there before a movie. Waitress was nice but scatterbrained. Kitchen was slow. Food was good.
If you want an average meal, in an average roadhouse with slightly overpriced average food-then this is your place. Never my first choice of a GREAT place to eat, as they have very few non-meat or plant based offerings and the music is ALWAYS too loud. Everything seems fried, loaded with cheese - with too large servings for a normal person.
I would love to see healthier choices - like a whole column of healthy choices with healthy dressings on the side. If you don't eat meat, you're always stuck with only one or two very mediocre dishes. Seriously, get on the bandwagon - almost 10% of the canadian population is vegan or vegetarian - and this will not decrease, it will only increase.
Offer 1/2 servings and healthier choices. However, the staff are friendly, energetic - convinced everyone needs chicken on a salad lol, but you can't fault the staff for an average restaurant. All of these road house type places are the same.
Convenient to the Cineplex movie theatre-it's the only reason we book here.
It's a super place to get together with friends. We were not rushed at all and service was great.
Service was excellent, but that’s the only good thing I can say about this location. Caesar salads were limp and tasted like they’d been prepared hours before and left uncovered, sitting in the fridge. Burger was dry. Pad Thai was oily. The decor leaves a lot to be desired... I guess they’re going for a casual “garage” look...? Bare concrete floor, very uninviting. To top it off there was a very loud, prolonged altercation at the bar between a very drunk female (who later flashed our booth through the window, from outside, lifting her skirt and giving us the finger. She was a complete stranger to us!) and a male patron, and management did nothing to evict her until she started shoving another customer at the bar -! And this was at a lunch service - very bizarre, bad food and bad decor. We won’t return.
A last minute reservation to watch the Raptors game. Staff was super friendly and helpful even though very busy. Great food as always.
Typical roadhouse food-adequate but overpriced. Very loud in this place-the music should not be that loud-it exceeds safety values and is hard to hear anyone. When you're going for dinner with friends-it would be nice not to have to raise your voice to hear. Nothing exceptional about this place, a go to before the theatre because it's predictable.
I have been here many times over the years and have always liked how they keep their menu updated and now the restaurant has been updated. Very nice! Thanks to the staff for making mother’s day great!
Excellent service but food was not very good. Ribs were hard not tender. Chicken wings not the best...
Kelsey's is a good pre-movie dinner spot, just make sure you give yourself lots of time. The service tends to be pretty slow.
Some tasty options on the menu, but they sure look better in the pictures than what comes out.
Great food, great service. Will return in the near future .
staff was very friendly.
kids menu was great. nice to see a gluten free option.
salmon was extremely salty and there was no indication in the description on the menu that the aioli contained dairy.
great deal on movie tickets.
This was not the best experience. First I ordered food and after waiting 20 minutes was told that the kitchen had run out of food I needed up only getting wings me and my wife had ordered fires as well that never came they food was good but we felt rushed to leave at the staff was packing up. Just not a great night at all.
Been here many times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. The broccoli cheese soup was excellent and so were the popcorn shrimp.
Went here with a friend to watch the NFL game. Our server was really friendly and attentive. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. We ordered the 4 cheese spinach dip with both the fried and baked pita triangles - they always hit the spot. Our mains were the chipotle shrimp sirloin and chicken alfredo pasta. Both very filling dishes. I ordered a couple of caesars, which also were satisfactory. The restaurant had a relaxed vibe. Wished that there were better options for seating as we had only one view of the tv which was a strain on the neck from our booth. Only other spaces to watch were at the bar on high bar stools, which would be uncomfortable for a full two hours while eating. Otherwise it was a nice spot for dinner and the location can’t be beat. Will come back again to try other items on the menu.
Food was served hot and promptly.
Our server was Miko, I’ve had before, he’s always pleasant and accurate
The food overall was served hot and good....well except the salad was cool.
I had the butter chicken fingers, which were VERY good....flavourful, but not too spicy.
My father said that the burger was really good, but that the fries were not great.
The restaurant was seriously under staffed
There were few people in the restaurant however it took a very long time to receive our food
We planned to order coffee but our server didn't give us a chance when we ordered dessert
She also never came back to our table so we didn't order coffee and had to go to the bar to pay
I was a little embarrased as I had recommended the restaurant to my out of town guests
We went to Starbucks for coffee
Waited for over an hour to get our food which was poor quality in small portions. After 45 minutes of waiting, the manager did come over to apologize and offer us free salads. We then waited what seemed like an unreasonable length of time for the salads, which were also poor quality in very small bowls. Would've been better to give us one of our overpriced meals for free than to give us the salads. Would most definitely not recommend this restaurant.
Our server was great. He didn’t hover.
As a bonus he called me Miss, not the dreaded Ma’am.
The food was delivered Quickly, Hot, and Accurate.
Very good place to go when you are seeing a movie at the theatre next door. They are on the ball and quick. The food is good and great value for the money
Child menu had a great selection. Our child ordered the build-your-own tacos. They enjoyed it.
Eveyone was pleased with their food.
Took forever to be seated and we even had a reservation! We realized that people who didn’t have a reservation and who just put their name on the list got seated faster than us. The hostess apologized profusely, but that didn’t go far. The server was also very dismissive. Wouldn’t go back.
Had a reservation no tables were ready had to wait, no server came to serve us (she didn’t realize we were her table). Food was alright, half of the restaurant is fancy and the other half look like a fast food place. Service was relately slow she had to check on our food in the kitchen more than once.
Need to vary the menu or have specials in all categories. The restaurant is very loud. Items are pricey but it’s a good location
Good food and good service. It has changed from the Kelseys of old. More open concept and louder than what I remember. Good for parties and friends, but for a quiet meal and discussion... not so much. Was happy they take reservations vs. waiting with a pager like some spots. I will most likely return.
Definitely not a place I would ever visit again . Waiter almost seemed like he was avoiding our table and never even bothered to ask how the food was ( I guess he already knew) .Food was not better then any popup / street eat place and the drinks were downright awful .
I generally tip when I go out to eat but don't feel even a little bad that I didn't on this occasion . Avoid!!!
P.S I guess the first tell was that I made a reservation on a Friday night and when we get there the first person we see just says " Yea just take that booth over in the corner " SMH .
Food was being brought out at different times. She forgot about someone’s drink. I felt that the service we got for the amount of guests inside was slow. Food was okay
For a last minute New Years Eve dinner plan with a 100$ Ultimate Dining Giftcard together, the combo was perfect. My boyfriend has been there before and said the food was excellect, so we decided to check it out. The service was excellect considering our waiter was actually the bartender also. She was welcoming, and even upsold our beers. However, the food is where it fell short. We got the half-sized nachos, which the cheese was over-cooked and dry. There was no jalapenos either when the menu called for it. My boyfriend had the 15 Wings medium style, and myself with the fish and chips. The wings were good, but not worth 22$. There was no options for other dilling sauces nor did it come with any side for that price. My fish and chip's were too greasy, the oil was oozing out everytime I cut a piece. The batter on the bottom of the fish was soggy and tasted unappetizing. My fries looks like they were cooked in old frying oil, they were brown and soggy. For a $90 dinner, the food did not meet that expectation. The ambience was perfect, we were able to hear eachother well and exciting crowd filled environment. If I were to go back, I'd 100% order something, and next time speak up about the food to the waiter
Service was outstanding, food was tasty and the beer was cold. A+
We were there on a work farewell lunch. Service was extremely slow. I ordered wings because it was the special. It was overcooked so I didn't enjoy as I use to.
Service was slow but food came out fast!
Service was okay. Good food.
Food was delicious and server was great!
They did not know we were coming , the food was late , and the manager apologized with a free meal .
Had a great lunch with an old friend. Service was excellent and food amazing. This was my first time at Kelseys and won't be the last
Server wasn't good but good was amazing!
The food was fantastic and the price was great. The staff were friendly, made good recommendation regarding a side order and made it a really great dining experience. Great Saturday meal out. Thanks all.
