Kelseys Original Roadhouse - Thunder Bay

Had a wonderful meal tonight! We went in for their famous chicken wings and added potato skins and caesar salad to go along with it and they were all delicious! Service was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Kelsey's Thunder Bay must be as great a place to work as it is to eat. Our server has worked there for over 20 years and obviously still enjoys her job. Our meal was delicious and arrived hot. Overall a great dining experience!

Ordered fish and chips with 2 fish, only got one. They said they would get another right away. Everyone at table was finished and still 2nd piece did not come. Just as well. Fish was mostly batter with no taste. Other meals were mediocre.

The overall experience was below what it usually is. Service was slow, had the soup which was just a cool warm, not hot, the fish and chips usually is very good was somewhat tasteless. My wife enjoyed her Salmon dish though. Was looking forward to going to Kelseys, not been there for a while during Covid, but wish it had turned out better for me.

Everything was great.

My order was mixed up with another tables, they brought me the chicken quesadilla however I am vegetarian and ordered the veggie quesadilla. Was an inconvenience, had to wait extra long for my meal while those at my table were eating.

The food and service were wonderful. It was quite noisy though.

I booked through open table. When I got there, I said that I had a reservation and the guy asked if I was Vanessa. I said no, Leanne Baird. He said we don’t have a reservation for you. Another worker pointed out on the screen that there was a reservation. He said the table will be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. We were seated in under five minutes. I had highlighted on the open table reservation that we were there to celebrate my daughter‘s 18th birthday and also told this to the waitress. We waited a long time to have a drink order taken, to receive our drinks, to have our food order taken and to receive our food and finally waited for the bill. The food was very good. We were asked about other drinks but never about dessert. My son actually went up to the bar to speak with our waitress, who also seem to be the bartender, to again advise we Were there for a birthday. I felt that we were often just sat waiting.

OpenTable system was down at the restaurant, the iPad was entirely missing at the front station. We spent 10 minutes waiting to be seated in a restaurant only 20% full. We weren’t asked for our orders for a further 15 minutes after being seated. Our entrees took an hour to arrive. There seemed to only be four staff including the bar tender working. The female manager served herself fries and a soda and ate on her own while tables were waiting. Conor, our server, mixed up 4 of our 5 orders and swerved wrong sides or improper entrees.

I'm sorry but for the price and the fact that we don't eat out much, I was extremely disappointed with the fries which were dry, hard, some burned, and cold. For a restaurant to serve FRIES that are awful, what does that say about the rest of it? All of us (4) at the table agreed. We won't be back

We were told there was a 10-15 minute wait and the restaurant was virtually empty.

The service was SLOW at best. We were seated then forgot about.

The food was about as good as what you’d get at a McDonalds drive thru and 4x the price.

For 2 kids meals and 2 adults without alcohol it was over $70! Not worth it.

We sat on patio, hostess was able to seat us in a nice spot. Waitress was friendly! We weren’t too impressed with the food, it was less than what I would expect from a well known chain. Got nachos and it was $7 to add chicken to them.. quite a bit expensive

Consistency of the food is what keeps me going back. Best to avoid during busy times to get the best service.

Made a reservation for six well in advance, table wasn’t ready when we arrived and they say our families with young children in the bar. Service was very slow, more than an hour for our entrees and we were never offered any refills for drinks. Staff definitely need better training.

It was very noisy on a Wednesday night. The Caesar salad was bland. The nachos has too little cheese on them. The drinks were good. We will not be going back.

My daughter had her girlfriends for apps and desert at Kelseys for her 13th Birthday! Our server was fantastic, the apps were delicious and the girls had a really fun time!!

1/2 price wing night! Always a favourite with good food and company.

Great service , food was good and tasty

Our server, Dylan, was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was very good - loved the ribs and the cinammon fries dessert with caramel sauce.

Unfortunately tonight wasn’t a good experience. We ended up waiting over a hr for orders of wings. Server was very apologetic as they where busy and she says they don’t have enough fryers to keep up to the orders. I guess it happens . We where short one Order of deep fried pickles , not the end of the world. There was a lot of unhappy customers tonight but this isn’t there normal type of service so I will be back .

We showed up on time, but because the restaurant's computers were down, they didn't have our reservation. They found us a table quickly. It was very busy and took almost a half hour to get our orders taken. They were short on glasses so no water for 2 of the 4 of us for awhile. Our meal was very long in coming to the table and we asked about it several times. Once we had our meals, my fries and fish were cold. Some of the other food could have been warmer. I don't think they had enough staff on. The manager gave us 25% off our bill for our long wait.

Service was very very slow, waitress wasn’t very attentive. After our meal she just brought our bill and I was wanting desert so I ordered desert and it wasn’t what I ordered they substituted without asking ( instead of brownies we got ice cream !) Not sure if I will be back anytime soon .

The restaurant did not have our reservation on file and were unsure how to handle the online reservation

Probably our favourite Thunder Bay dining place. Great food; no surprises or disappointments; friendly, casual atmosphere with a generous menu!
