Khao Pla Macquarie

The service was slow, not enough staff. The staff who were there did an amazing job.

We were there for a work group lunch. Unfortunately the restaurant seemed very short staffed the day we were there, and the waitress that looked after us didn't understand english (or even her own menu) that well. Our food arrived all at different times, and drinks took even longer to arrive. Disappointed on this occurance, but will probably go again.

Would only recommend for the food , although small serves. Service not good. Not very attentive.

Very tasty informal business lunch for 6 people. Any more than 6 would make it hard for everyone to hear one conversation. Pork ribs great as usual. Nashi pear and soft-shell crab salad also well-received, although some found it a bit chilli hot. Duck curry also very tasty. Beer and wine selection not bad for an informal venue. We were tucked in a corner, so shopping centre location wasn't a big negative.

Everything was good but someone came to take the order after 25 mins that too when me and my friend both had raised our hands and kept them raised till someone came to our table. We basically forced people to look at us. The attendants were just standing there telling each other to take the order. It was Wednesday, unlike a Friday. 6-7 tables were occupied only. The service was extremely disappointing.

Great food. Not exactly quiet, but a group of 8 people could still converse well enough.

Enjoyed pork belly, soft shell crab salad and some desserts with a girlfriend. Food was exceptional.

The food are always good. I'm just a bit disappointed with the service as we were sitting at the end table but the waiters hardly check on us and so we have to wait for a bit when we needed something, eg. putting out order in, asking for cutleries and etc.

A great experience at Khao Pla. I'd dined at the Chatswood restaurant before and while the food was of course excellent, the size of the restaurant and the wait time was a deterrent. The new restaurant in Macquarie Centre is massive so it was easier to get a table (although it was quickly filled even for a weekday lunchtime, which says a lot about its popularity). The food was expectedly excellent. Would definitely come back!

Great and fresh food, really good value for the quality of food they offer. The staff was very nice to explain all the dishes calmly and nicely.

Nice option in Macquarie for a group dinner. Food is delicious and service was good.

Khao Pla is my favourite Thai in Chatswood and surrounds but I was worried if they could maintain the quality of food in another branch. My concern was not needed! Booked this place for the boss' farewell dinner and it did not disappoint! Although there was not a proper big table to accommodate us due to the intimate space this is in, the food more than made up for it. Everything was delicious and we could cater to everyone's tastebuds from vegetarian to the spicy ones. Will definitely be happily patronising again =o)

The food at Khao Pla is always tasty and the portions are of a decent size. The service can be a bit hit and miss which can be disappointing to the overall experience.

One thing I will point out is that despite most people using Apple Pay or other electronic forms of payment, Khao Pla charges 1.5% for the privilege.

In my opinion this is an unacceptable practice given that we are slowly becoming a cashless society. Furthermore, in my experience, 99% of vendors for which I use my phone to make payments DO NOT charge a fee for doing so.

Delicious food in a casual, trendy and noisy setting. Love it!
