I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. It was an amazing experience. We made our reservation at 6pm and were there in time to watch the beautiful sunset. They actually sat us at a table all the way by the side of the view. We got to witness the sunset while we were dining first row.
We were there for about 4 hours drinking, eating. It’s a bit pricey for the food, approx $50 USD for a plate of fettuccine. I mean it was good but the drinks are better. I’d rather pay for drinks haha. Don’t get me wrong it’s a very wonderful experience. I don’t regret paying what I paid.
Another thing was that once we were finished, we finished quite late, the waiter took us over to the bar, he walked us all the way over, and it’s quite a walk. He took us through what appears to be a secret bridge that connects the bar and the restaurant. Absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the bar for about an hour and headed home. Completely recommend! Loved it. I would do it again.
It was ok. Nothing special. For the price to pay for the meal, you would expect the service to be more friendly. I was attended by two hostess. The first one didn't even bother helping with finding a place to park my car. The second one at least gave me happy birthday. Both seemed like they they were not keen to talk to people. The waiter, in the other hand, was very kind.
Anniversary celebration with good service
To expansive for the services and quality. Owner charge price of a 5 stars restaurant with services of a 1.
Staff are very gentle... but no competence of this rank of pricing food and drink. Fault at the owner.
Beautiful place, excellent service, but very very expensive! A great experience in Tulum!
The service is a absolutely horrible and staff is very unprofessional
I LOVED my experience here. I was traveling alone and really wanted to try this restaurant. It had amazing vibes and I ended up doing the 8-course chefs tasting menu. Everything was amazing - the ambiance (sat by the window with a view of the full moon over the ocean), the service (very friendly and helpful) and food (!!) Would recommend for everyone looking to splurge a little.
This place is an amazing and the food and service was outstanding!
Overrated. Cool atmosphere for sure but below average food for ridiculous prices. So many better restaurants in Tulum - save yourself the trip to this one!
The staff at Kin Too were incredible rude. Specifically the girls on the door.
The food was great but was tainted by the service of the door people.
The place is sublime it lived up to the hype, but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t expensive. All in all I feel it was worth it, but I in no way felt I was getting a deal. You get what you pay for at this place, and you pay a lot for it, enjoy it!
The staff was absolutely amazing, we started by getting the best table in the house and then a personal tour and photo shoot from a few of the staff. Dinner was thoroughly explained for every item when placed on the table which made the experience top notch. We got the Corn dip and it was mind blowing, nothing I have never had tasted before. The lion fish ceviche in coconut milk was to die for and the octopus was perfectly cooked. For our entrees we ordered the steak (this was my favorite ever) and the truffle fettuccine (was not blown away and would not order again). Food and drinks were overall very good and gorgeous to look at. As for the atmosphere, this was truly one of a kind experience and everything was beautiful, so much that we couldn't stop talking about how beautiful. We ended up paying only $235 USD for three appetizers, two entrees, two drinks, and one dessert. Will recommend everyone to this establishment in the jungle.
The food was okay but the ambience was marvelous.
Beautiful views and exceptional ambiance. Few mis steps but all in all a night to remember.
A must see restaurant when in tulum .. service was excellent Mario our server was prompt had the best recommendation. An early seating is better so you can get a feel of the restaurant and it’s surrounding. Did the a la cart opinion, they do a four course meal as well . Will definitely visit again .
Amazing and beautiful!! Don’t miss this place
No lighting.. couldn’t even see food or read menu.
Food not good AT ALL. horrible taste.
Hostess was extremely rude but very nice waiter. Beautifully done architecture though
El precio es sumamente alto y la calidad de la comida no es extraordinaria. El lugar si lo es que considero es lo unico que lo vale.
All together the place was amazing for the experience! We booked the star catcher nest for our 4th anniversary dinner and it was very romantic . The food was incredible and our waiter/waitress were both top notch !! I definitely think they need to put more lights up because once it got darker out , we had to use our phone lights to see what our dessert looked like and what we were eating . The price in my opinion was a bit high for only 2 people . And we ended up not even using all the money we had to pay to reserve the table . Lastly, I was hoping our dessert would say happy anniversary or something along those lines considering we were asked numerous times what we were celebrating. I was hoping they would make it a bit more special . But that still doesn’t change my opinion on how Amazing the restaurant was as a whole. I would definitely go back , but I wouldn’t book the nest again.
Place is absolutely beautiful, but food is really disappointing. We would have rather just go for few cocktails, instead of eating here. Service was nice though. The ambience itself is worth a visit, just don’t plan on having a meal here.
The restaurant is incredible. Worth going for a drink at least. We did not enjoy the food. Each dish was either wonderful or very underwhelming. If we went back it would be for a sunset drink and not the food.
The restaurant is too dark to enjoy. I was also shocked that they didn’t have a cocktail menu. We ordered two drinks (a dirty martini and Paloma) that we both only drank half of because they didn’t taste good at all.
Beautiful restaurant and hotel. The tasting menu was amazing. The service was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Always there for us when we needed something and even when we didn’t! Magical time here.
The place is beautiful, but i would expect more from food and service.
I do recommend the bar in the top, the view is amazing.
Increíble experiencia culinaria.
The vibe here is insane! Great service and delicious food!
Wasn’t what we expected in regards to service and food. Way too hot in there. Chairs are very uncomfortable and heavy.
Pros: Let’s start by saying that the food was great and our waiters were very attentive during dinner and seemed to understand English.
Mediums: OpenTable says this restaurant has valet parking. When we arrived the valet told us all spots were taken and I should go about 700 meters up the road and look for a spot.
Just FYI, this restaurant is very expensive and OpenTable mentions that the dress is “Formal.” My wife and I dressed appropriately. It appears no one else read the dress code—everyone else was there in shorts and tee shirts—one guy was barefoot.
Reviewers mentioned that this restaurant did not have a wine list, but now they do. We asked for two glasses of wine, which were on the wine list. Neither were available and were presented with two bottles of truly terrible local wines. So, it seems they now HAVE a wine list, just not the wines on the list.
Cons: I made a reservation on OpenTable for 7:30. We arrived at 7:00 planning on having a drink before dinner. The hostess confirmed our reservation, but said we had to pay a $60 USD cover charge if we wanted to get a drink. She said the $60 would be credited to our bill at the end. We paid the $60 and went to the bar. I’ll come back to this later.
At the bar we sat for about 10 minutes before any of the four waiters came over. We ordered two drinks, which took 15 minutes to get...one was a vodka on the rocks. OpenTable also said the restaurant was “Quiet.” If by quiet you mean playing House Music loudly over speakers in all the dining areas it was way too loud.
After dinner we got our check and saw that the $60 wasn’t deducted. When we politely asked about it, all of a sudden no one understood English, not the waiter, the hostess, or the manger. So in the end we were charged $60 plus the entire cost of dinner. Because we have multiple friends joining us over the next two months we wanted to find “our go to” impressive restaurant. After this experience we’ll have to keep looking, despite the good food.
This is an insanely beautiful restaurant . The issues are it’s very over priced . Go for a drink and walk around if you are looking to take photos. We were seated next to the bathroom even though we had a reservation and the restaurant wasn’t full. The food wasn’t the best I’ve had in Tulum, but I enjoyed it. We asked for a cocktail menu and they didn’t have one ... they just told you what they had with no prices. So keep that in mind
People go for the views and Instagram content. It's fine for a drink but gravely over priced for actual meals. Also odd service quirks - having to ask for menu multiple times, then after we choose tasting course offering we were told the price noted on the menu was outdated and it would be 10-15% higher. Elaborate wine menu but only 20% was available. I know things change in Tulum and there are cultural differences but this property was made for Western travellers who pay ALOT so given this lens there are some gaps in the experience one expects.
It was a magical evening to celebrate my B
My Husband and I just ate here this week while staying at the resort. Absolutely amazing! We shared a 4 course tasting menu which included two appetizers, entree, dessert, and added one more entree. It was served with a delicious bread basket and we also ordered 3 alcoholic drinks as well. Our total bill was $190 US. Absolutely worth it for a gorgeous dinner setting looking at the sunset with super great tasting food. We asked for courses to be spread apart and we were there for 2.5 hours. Highly recommend!
I had an amazing experience little too dark and hot but overall great experience
Just underwhelmed. Wouldn’t go back except to see the museum
The ambiance and vibe is unbelievable... their steak might have been the best I've ever had but hardly any seafood options and what they did have was mediocre..... everthing else exceptional
Amazing views and vibes. A must experience
Kin Toh is an experience for all senses - the nests, candles, and huge round, hardwood tables make you feel like it’s a world of its own! But once you enter this world, you get sucked in and are kept there - both times I have come, dinner ends up being a 3+ hour experience, with at least an hour of waiting for food to come from the kitchen. The food is delicious, but it would receive 5 stars if it was a bit more timely!
Very difficult to get in touch with the restaurant to update the reservation. I called multiple times, emailed, even stopped by twice in person and could never get in touch with a hostess
Ultimately they ended up being able to fit us in, but it was rather unnecessarily stressful because I couldn't update the number on OpenTable either
Over expensive, the service was rude and the guy in the parking lot wanted to make money for his own just to let you park the car. The food wasn’t as expected and the portions were too little.
