King Street Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We had a lovely meal, best fillet steak and Diane sauce I've had in a very long time. We had a few issues with the wine availability, two of the bottles of Champagne we asked for were not available so we settle on a nice bottle of Perrier-Jouët which we were quite happy with, the head waiter came over later and apologized and gave us a 15% discount for the inconvenience which was very nice. Lovely Staff.
Whole experience was superb. Waiters friendly, food was very good and not overpriced. Have to visit the rooftop bar what a view!!!!!! Only thing not keen on is every order there is a service charge, i know its optional just awkward if you dont want to pay it.
Nice venue with classy decoration. Staff attentive. Food was traditional but very tasty. Fish pie had lots of content but was superheated and inedible for several minutes. First mouthful burnt my mouth. Once cool enough it was delicious. Great value overall especially with their January discount. Well worth a visit if in manchester.
Food and place is lovely
Sadly, the restaurant was using the lounge to cram in additional covers.
We ate in the lounge. This is a lovely space but is not designed for eating.
Tables and chairs were too low and very uncomfortable.
It was like eating a meal sat crossed legged on the floor in a Japanese tea house !!
Booked here as the venue and decor are beautiful. Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't live up to its opulent surroundings. The service is frankly bizarre. We were never asked how our meals were, nor topped up with wine. When we asked for the bill it was received just as a paper receipt on the table whilst the waiter waited by the table for me to pay immediately. The service felt quite rushed and impersonal.
The food was quite tasty overall but unfortunately one of the dishes made me quite ill for the rest of the weekend which is why I didn't score it higher. The restaurant was also quite empty with only two other tables occupied. The only saving grace was the music which was good and provided some much needed ambience.
A big fan of the 'eclectic' group and was excited to book this for a friends reunion!
Staff from beginning to end were just rude. No-one seemed happy to be there and everything seemed like a chore. Really off putting.
Ambience was dreadful and just felt the evening was brought down.
Food was good and all served timely.
Won't be returning sadly.
