Was a lovely afternoon tea, the scones were amazing .. well worth the money and visit.
Had afternoon tea with my 90 year old parents, it was absolutely beautiful, food was excellent and what we left we took home. Will definitely be returning had a lovely afternoon, would recommend it and was brilliant value for money
Food was great but service did not match what the chef produced !
Dissapointed having afternoon tea in a bar area. No tables ready when we went in.
The menu is totally misleading-nowhere can I find that the choice is so drastically reduced that it serves different food. All we could manage was a pizza compared to the salmon, belly of pork, steak etc of the main menu as described when booking on the website on open table. Utterly disappointing we really just wanted to leave. The pizza itself was poor- had better takeaways. There will have been a reason why this place was the only one we could find this evening as everywhere else in the town was chock full.
Absolute bargain at £15 for 2. Was extremely quiet as we were the only ones there. Staff were extremely friendly and tentative
Sunday lunch, the waiter was excellent and attentive I would give him ten out of ten, however the food was not very good although the dessert was nice
Food was good, not much atmosphere in the room (no background music) drinks seemed to get cold very quickly
I took my friend for afternoon tea for a birthday treat,
The food was very nice and very fresh and a nice variety,
Good service , nice warm friendly atmosphere with a lovely view of Joseph pease and our high row ,
Outstanding value for money
Will definitely tell people about it and will definitely return
Lovely staff. relaxing sunday lunch .great place to go
Not as good as expected. More limited menu and uninspiringly presented. Convenient to dine in hotel where I was staying on a wet evening.
Service and staff were very friendly but the food was not as good as I was expecting
Lovely afternoon tea, warm scones and a Bottle of fizz. Staff friendly and helpful, haven’t been in the Kings Head for a long time - will definitely return.
We arrived after having booked afternoon tea for 6 people at 1600 that morning. We found our way when sent upstairs following directions.we then tried to find someone to help. When we did we were informed they were not expecting us and weren’t sure they had anything ready. We waited in the hall way over hearing staff complaining that they weren’t expecting us and it wasn’t their fault.
These things happen and mistakes are made in any job/ service.
But HOW you handle it is what matters. Making customers feel unwelcome and uncomfortable is not good service. A simple “ oh sorry to keep you waiting” would have covered it. We didn’t need to hear how you might not have anything ready, how it was Reception’s fault for not telling you and the general complaining whilst we had to stand in the corridor and cringe.
I think a refresher on customer service would benefit these staff concerned. I do not put all in this bracket. Another recommendation maybe to take down your on line booking facility if you are not going to check it on the day for same day bookings.
Excellent two course Sunday Lunch for an amazing £10 each! All served in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and great staff made it a real treat. We will be back!
4 out of the 6 got beef which you couldn't cut or eat when told the staff all we got was sorry not asked if wanted something else so was a waste of money
THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN ENGLAND
Friendly service and superb steaks!
Delicious Sunday Lunch with friendly service and great value for money.
Attentive service though there was only one other couple in on the night we dined. Good food in good surroundings.
Not impressed at all. I have been here in the past for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. However on this occasion the meal was tasteless, luke warm and the yorkies were Just not up to standard . Dessert of apple crumble consisted of undercooked apples and a very small amount of lukewarm custard. The staff who served were very professional. But unfortunately I will not be returning or recommending due to the poor quality of food.
Absolute bargain, expected it to be £10 but was a special offer of £7.50. Really nice setting, food was lovely and service was good. Highly recommend going here.
Booked my wedding at this venue and went for afternoon tea with my best friend to celebrate, was great value for money, food was delicious and the service outstanding

Lovely afternoon tea with wonderful service & plenty of tea!
The American waitress couldn’t do enough for us and couldn’t fault her. She was very attentive, polite and friendly and made our experience even more enjoyable. The afternoon tea was lovely and the best on the town. Will continue to come back
