Kingsley Two Brasserie

Went to Kingsley Two Brasserie with a friend for a catch up. The main restaurant was closed so we were seated in the bar to eat where they had some tables set up to the side. It was very quiet but the food was good and the service was good too.
Wonderful restoration of the bank building- the hostess could not have been more accommodating despite the fact that we had inadvertently booked a restaurant of the same name in London - they managed to squeeze us in - the staff was exceedingly professional but warm. The food was outstanding- each of our meals and apps was well prepared and gorgeous. Not a criticism if anything at all.
Looking forward to returning
Awful service from start to finish- we actually left before the food was served. There was no indication of how long the food would take or what the delay was. We sat there for nearly two hours and got offered a bowl of ready salted crisps whilst waiting.
our experiance here was terrible, food very poor, service even poorer, despite us being the only two people in the restaurant over a 2 and half hours, we did wander why it was empty, and we soon found out. Would not reccomend anyone to go there, completely ruined our time in london, and we are takeing our complaint further. So my advice don,t bother, there is some lovely restaurants nearby, that want your custom.
Although the staff were lovely, it took forever for our cocktails to come. Burgers are not allows to be medium rare and when I asked for my steak to be medium-welldone what I got went way past well done and the meat was super dry.
The staff were accommodating with dessert which we appreciated, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the delays and not delivering on the food.
We had an early booking due to a theatre reservation so the restaurant was empty however the service was excellent as was the food. Two of us had pork belly and scallops which were delicious, the others had a salmon and broccoli risotto with a lobster bisque and pork loin. I would visit again but would recommend a later booking for additional ambience.
We booked this place at the last minute. The restaurant is inside the Thistle hotel and the decor is nice, fresh and quite modern looking. Our wait staff were cry friendly and quick to offer suggestions when I couldn't make up my mind which was really nice of them. The food was delicious and the servings are very generous! We would love to done there again!
Kingsley Two, Holborn, London. Visited this hotel restaurant to sample their 3 courses and glass of prosecco for £22 p/p. We were the only two people in the restaurant for the entirity of our meal but did not feel self conscious. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive. We met the manager, the chef and the sous chef! We were able to congratulate them on the great food that we enjoyed. We had 3 choices for each course and so long as you're not too fussy, you'll identify a suitable dish!
Initially very rude - Firstly not giving us the proper menu (a paper menu instead), and then once asking for the proper menu, were only 'allowed' 1 between 2 despite the place being almost empty. Had to wait upwards of an hour for food - and was told after already having waited half an hour that they didn't have something we ordered: main courses came at different times. My main course was bordering cold when it finally arrived. Finally they tried to pull a fast one and not give us 25% discount.
The food was excellent, pate for starters and the pork belly were gorgeous, so well done and delicious, the service was excellent we felt very comfortable and we had the waiter and maitre d checking on us after every course was served.
The restaurant was literally empty! which is sort of ok for a Tuesday but is central London! that made the ambience a bit dull - but we enjoyed the quietness. Definitely recoomend. Also we went for drinks to the bar before dinner and cocktails were excellent
My main criticism of The Kingley is the service. We had a very slow waiter who lacked any waiting skills altogether. He knew our group were convening in the bar first but didn't make up the table so we had to then wait while he shuffled tables and laid it. He gave us no menu/ wine list. We had to request it ourselves. He got one of our starters wrong. Throughout the meal we had to call him over to order more drinks, etc. which was poor considering there were only 2 other tables occupied.
Really nice restaurant with really good food. Was empty for a Wednesday evening but this was nice as we could speak and hear each other. I would recommend the Kingsley Two to anyone. Already made two more bookings :)
Good value deal. Service a little on the slow side
The selection on the menu was extremely limited, which was a shame because the food itself was really good. The service was reasonable; sometimes the staff were a little forgetful in spite of the restaurant being quite, but they made it up to us with a drink on the house.
The set menu is very limited so we asked to see the main menu. We were told we could have 50% off our food instead. So we agreed and the food was lovely. However at paying for the bill we were told it was only 25% off. Our bill was put down and we were unsure of how to proceed. I certainly wouldn't have had the lemon sole at £23.50 if it wasn't half price. So we complained and then we were given the 50% off. It tarred the night and without that incident I would have been very positive.
Went on a Wednesday with the 25% off offer. Evening was to catch up with a friend and it was a good venue for this. It was quiet - only a few diners and the service was extremely slow - but that did not really bother us. The waiter was polite and when we did get his attention, he served well. It was OK but won't go charging back.
Kingsley was a nice experience - food was lovely, decor was ok. It wasn`t very busy, which made it perfect for a quiet dinner for 2.
Bengal Village, London. As always, great food and great value. Most definitly recommended.
Lovely Hotel but restaurant was empty which was a shame. Top Table menu was a bit limited but the main fish course that I had was very tasty. Unfortunately I can't say the same for dessert as it was mean't to be a chocolate fondant but came out as a dry chocolate cake. My friend had a starter instead of dessert which she said was really good. The 2 course offer comes with half a bottle of the house wine which again wasn't the nicest wine but it was drinkable. Overall very average but good price
The meal at Kingsley Two was uninspiring - one of those meals where 24 hours later you struggle to remember what you ate! There were very few diners but nevertheless they brought the wrong starter so one of us had finished eating the hot starter before the correct second one arrived. By 6.00 pm one of the four main courses was off leaving no meat options available. The apple crumble however, despite being a substitute for the listed pomme tatin, was extremely good - maybe bought in ??
Great food, good atmosphere and very good value.
KINGSLEY TWO, Holborn, London
Food good, very friendly reception, excellent service, but since there were only two other people dining, the ambience was not particularly lively, in fact rather lonely, which the friendliness of the staff did make up for.
The Bengal Village was very good and very reasonably priced.
Excellent staff - good quality, generous food.
Good value, although unfortunately we were the only diners for the whole meal. The waiter was very helpful and did not make us feel that we were putting him out, though.
Kingsley 2 London. Great food and good value with the offer. Good service but we were the only diners in the restaurant so lacked a bit of atmosphere.
Not much atmosphere at The Kingsley, as it's a hotel restaurant.
Other than that, the food was reasonable and the service fairly good.
Kingsley Two is located in a central London hotel. We arrived at 7pm and were the only people there, will it didn't get full the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was very good. The food was very nice and they had a reasonable wine list. We would definitely go there again.
Had on of the special offers. Starter of fish cakes was really good. as was the fresh fruit salad. Beef was a bit tough. Overall ambience of restaurant is not good.
Another excellent meal at Kingsley Two - two within a week. I think that says quite a lot. I'd reiterate my previous comments and just say that if you're looking for a very good meal at a very reasonable price then I wouldn't hesitate to go. Happy eating! :-)
The toptable 3 courses and glass of prosecco at the Kingsley Two in Bloomsbury was very good value for money. What let the evening down was the service, unfortunately. We had to ask for the prosecco, which arrived after ordering wine. The waitress, although pleasant, did not seem trained, had difficulty opening the wine, borrowed glasses from another table and made the chef seek her out to serve the dessert, by which time the ice cream was melting - and there were only 3 tables to serve!
Our meal at Kingsley Two was fantastic. Th restaurant's hidden away inside a boutique hotel but worth finding. From the moment you enter you feel they're trying their best to impress, and they do. A delicious 4 course meal (with complimentary amuse bouche) and a glass of Prosecco for Pizza Express money made this a restaurant I'll definitely be hurrying back to. Definitely recommended!
Resturant Kinsley Two. Holburn, London
We enjoyed a fanatastic meal in a beautiful surroundings. The service as excellent.
Very empty on a friday evening so atmosphere wasn't great, food average
Nice food, lovely service. Agree with other reviewers that it was unusally quiet (only three tables taken, including us, on a Friday night and for most of the evening we were there on our own!), but given we were looking for a chilled catch up it actually quite suited us.
Nice and simple food and very pleasant service. Too short of a menu, only worthwhile thanks to TT deal
We were the only ones when we arrived, 5.30pm quite an early start! The place was hard to find in Holborn as it is inside a Hotel! However, we had good tasting food, the restaurant was smart/trendy looking. One menus option was not available but we were offerred an alternative and we were well looked after by Staff. The wine and coffee clearly added to the Bill but all in all the 2 courses for £15 was excellent value. I'd go again - a later sitting would provide more ambience!
Bengal Village, 75 Brick Lane, Shadwell, E1 24/2/11
Top Table had not booked the table as arranged so we were lucky to get a table.
Food OK portions very small. Food was not hot.
Service was slow but staff were very friendly.
£40 for a starter, main with rice and bread. 1 beer and one water. for 2 people
Went to the Kingsley Two restaurant near Holborn last weekend, inside the Kingsley Hotel. It was surprisingly quiet for a central London location, and lacked the buzzing atmosphere you might get elsewhere in the West End. The service was friendly and food was alright - but not likely somewhere I'll eat again, unless I was staying at the hotel.
