The Hotel and Restaurant was beautiful and quiet for our time there. The food was delicious and well presented. Good value for money and the portions was perfect. Will definitely be having more meals here.

The website description of the food created an expectation of a restaurant menu. In fact it was just good pub food and wine, which was ok for what we wanted. I wouldn't go here for a special occasion meal.

An odd one. The hotel and restaurant were clearly once very well populated and busy - however, it was lacking. The food was extremely tasty and well presented, however the service was a little slow considering there was less that 4 tables eating.... The decor was dated, but would have been lovely a few years ago. I feel as though the place is hanging on, but clearly there is no love or budget left in the place. Such a shame. The pictures do not match it's current state.

The menu online is different to what is at the restaurant. Food was lovely but the restaurant was too quiet we was the only ones in there on a Saturday night.

We pre booked as we thought the menu online looked great. Got there and there was only 1 other couple there. It was cold and the atmosphere was dull. We received the menu and it was one page of around 20 items, nothing like the menu advertised online. We ordered drinks and unfortunately found somewhere else to eat. As we went to pay we gave our feedback on the limited menu compared to online and were told ‘maybe you should try new foods’ I found this thoroughly insulting considering I am half Finnish / Italian and eat pretty much anything and have a rather well established pallet!

While it was great to have vegan dishes on the menu there wasn't much choice. The portions were a good size but the soup was very bland. Service was as expected and friendly enough.

On arrival there was no one to meet and greet. After we got to the table we’ve waited very long time for the starters (drinks arrived quickly). Starters were coldish and not nice. My Baked Camembert starter was almost cold. Very small amount of bread with a fairly big amount of pate. There was no offer to order more drinks, we had to go to a bar to ask for more drinks. We’ve waited over 30 minutes for mains to arrive and again they were lukewarm. Finally the Tarte au Citron (was not nice) was served with halved grapes and not with raspberries as per menu.

We arrived at the appointed time only to be ignored by the woman doing reception. She was dealing with one other customer but could have at least acknowledged our arrival. I looked into the dining room and found that only one table was occupied. Nobody in the building was wearing a mask. We decided to leave and we’re looked after very well by the friendly and professional staff of the Eyston Arms in East Hendred.

It was our first time at Kingswell and we were not disappointed. Food were really good, I’d recommend Coriander Salmon and blueberry crumble pie. We’d definitely come back again.

I used to come to Kingswell for the Sunday carvery, before covid, and highly rated it...since covid there is no carvery, sadly, but the roasts are still fabulous imo 😋

The Kingswell is our go to for family occasions, the environment and atmosphere are lovely, just the right mix of cosy and luxury. A good selection on the menu to suit all tastes and attentive customer service that is unobtrusive.
