Kintan Oxford Circus
Dishes at Kintan represent a combination of authentic Japanese cuisine and contemporary take on local ingredients. "
Consistently excellent value and tasty (though some of that is up to you) even if you burn something it still tastes good!
Fast service, great food. Nice experience.
I'm definitely coming back for more!
Food taste was rather delicious!
Portion wise was quite small for 2 people might need to buy bbq meat individually rather than ordering a set meal. Would be a lot better.
Staff wise were very friendly and service was very good. Would definitely go here again
It was my friend and I’s first time at Kintan as we wanted to try something new. The staff were very informative and the food was delicious. We went for the samurai platter and it was perfect for two people with the sides you get as well. Very content and will return.
Had a catch up with some friends. We all agreed the ambience, the service and the food was great! Definitely recommend the food here and will be coming here again soon.
Great place and had a HUGE dining area downstairs. The service was great and the food delicious!
Food taste very well, services was very nice. Dishes comes very quick, very good value at happy hours. Will come again!
Food is good! You should do something to eliminate the smoke and smell more easily. We leave the place smelling meat!
Great venue, great concept, lovely ambience. Food was good. No complaints. Service was friendly but at times it was a little hard to catch the eye of one of the restaurant workers to ask a question. I would highly recommend the restaurant for the experience and the value for money.
Only cottoned onto the "Happy Hour" food and drink offers thanks to other reviews on Open Table! In practice it's more like Peak & Off-Peak pricing. We were able to benefit from the great value for everything ordered post 9pm on a Friday evening. Beers were cheaper than almost anywhere in the area!
We went big on the massive sharing menu for four. Excellent meats. Lots of sides. Less than £30 per head on food to eat more than we thought we could.
Have already recommended to others.
We've been going to Kintan in Holborn and have always enjoyed the food and service there. I've been to the Oxford Circus branch several times since it opened and have found that although the food is the same quality as the Holborn branch, service has always been pleasant but slightly inferior. However, the service we recieved on this last visit to Oxford Circus was worse than all the other times and had prompted me to write this review. The young man I assume was the duty manager kept telling us to ring the bell on our table whenever we tried to catch his attention - we had to keep telling him that we had several times on each occasion but no-one had paid any attention to them. Service was painfully slow, no-one came to check if we needed any more drinks or food and the grill actually turned itself off when we still had food on it and had ordered more food. It took more than 10 minutes for the staff to sort it out. When we finished our meal, it took ages to pay the bill... Again no-one came to check even after we've rung the bell! We were one of only two tables upstairs! When we were leaving the restaurant, the duty manager was at the front desk but he didn't even look up to say thank you or goodbye. I would still recommend Kintan Oxford Circus for the food but the service needs improving.
Enjoyable meal with friends.
Downstairs space is huge so we were easily accommodated and the tables a good size.
I went for the Bibimbap, but my friends experimented with the DIY BBQ element which they enjoyed.
Service was prompt and friendly and we weren't rushed out the door which we appreciated.
Bibimbap is a good budget option, but event with BBQ elements the bill was reasonable.
Would go back and have recommended to others looking for somewhere to eat in Oxford Circus
Waited about 15 minutes between arriving and being able to order, though once we'd waited for that everything else was a lot quicker. Didn't feel rushed out despite the time-limit on the booking and us getting fairly close to it.
Our waitress was really nice and helpful. The food was amazing, would definitely visit again with friends.
We were sitting next to a really loud table. They kept shouting and it is very disturbing. The food was good but the service was rather disappointing. Everyone seems rushing but at some point no body was around us( I believe there was a big birthday party) and every table around is was waiting to be served. I probably won’t come back as I can find similar restaurant, pay quite the same amount of money and actually have a better service
The food was good, the service fair but the dining area wasn't clean - the seats and walls in the area we were sitting were dirty and the menu has sticky food stains on them.
Outstanding food and service - particularly from Hana.
My favourite BBQ Japanese Restaurant in London!!!!
Nice place for a small group party, good meat, fun place
I LOVE coming to Kintan during their Happy Hour, makes the meal slightly more affordable. Great quality food, lovely flavours of mariande and sauces, extensive drink menu too. A bit of a wait at the reception as there was 1 staff only, should have more than 1 as they need to run up and down the stairs. However, restaurant staff provided a friendly and efficient service. Just wish they can have extraction fans above the grills to save you from being so smelly after the meal.
The food was amazing. I felt like I was in Japan.
We had ”all you can eat" menu. we needed to wait for long time for an order comes.
Value for money Japanese/Korean barbeque. Service is fast and it’s fun for family or big group.
Cool experience and delicious food (lots of it, we were 5 and took a set meal for 4). Smores is fun
Amazing food always worth getting the premium cuts! But the front of house staff is poor and honestly every-time I go just sounds and looks incompetent . The managers and some of the staff members are great you can tell who is on the ball, but some are just talking to each-other and do not really care about the customers.
Only downfall to this place is the fire alarms that went off 2 times while we were there.
Its a great place for a group/ date night
Only warning is that your clothes might smell a bit after because its bbq
At happy hour especially, the smoke is very thick....but the food is great
Everything was amazing!
Food is always amazing!!!!! Great value for food and drinks as well. Although not enough staff is hired .. long wait to order/ sometimes impossible to get staffs attention to order extra food and drinks or ask for the bill. And on top of 12.5% tip is added to the bill. I undertnadt that the restaurant is busy but if you cant afford to provide enough staff you should not charge for the tips?
Also the venue is a bit cold.
Amazing food, love the independence of cooking our own food and having our own little grill is so amazing and aesthetic! Was very well looked after by a female waitress with a pretty face and dark hair, constantly smiling and watching us with pride. Would definitely come again and would love to try more foods!
My first there, and the food is very good and fried the meat is exciting
Good service and friendly staff, and alright food. Music very bad, and way too loud - you can't talk or be heard across the wide bbq tables. Cooking the food is fun, but it's not great value for money - umami salads at £5 a bowl, being just lettuce and dressing which must have cost 20 pence max to produce. Our bill for four came to £45 a head, with one pint each. And we weren't overly full when we left.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere! Would definitely recommend.
Very good location, nice staff, excellent service and what's more very nice dish. Always enjoy here.
Booked at 630pm on Wednesday but almost full then. Amazing.
The food was outstanding. 4 of us had a menu with lots of dishes and we didn’t really have room on the table to sit and eat easily but we managed to double up plates and remove dishes ASAP. Could do with a bit of a clean (chairs and floor were stained)
Food came fast but service was very slow. We had to ask for plates 3 times.
Good food and service as always
Came here for mother's day on a Sunday to avail their buffet. Everything started off lovely but then the guy who seemed to be the manager is a bit rude. It felt as though he wasn't happy that we were ordering a couple of meats and starter in one go. He wanted us to finish what's on our table first before he give us more order, he even stated that we have to pay for any left overs whilst having our meal. It wasn't our first time to eat in a buffet, so we are clearly aware of that. And the fact that there's a 2 hour limit per table with the food not coming straight away that still needs to be cooked on the grill, plus him waiting for our food to finish before we can order is a bit off putting. Clearly killed off the mood and defeat the purpose of "buffet". Won't be coming back anytime soon.
Nice place and welcoming.
3rd visit in 2 weeks, great value, great simple food, great environment. Lovely staff
Second time visiting this place and both times were wonderful.
Always a good choice for Japanese BBQ in central London, it is not cheap but worth the value. Attentive and lovely service, staff well trained
