Kintan Oxford Circus
Dishes at Kintan represent a combination of authentic Japanese cuisine and contemporary take on local ingredients. "
3rd time going there and amazing as usual! The manager, Aman, looked after me and my girlfriend very well.
The other 2 waitresses that served us were also a delight! We had a slight issue with the bill at the end due to a system glitch but was quickly sorted out! I’d definitely recommend this place. Food is delicious, staff is caring and attentive and ambience very fun! Will be back soon!
Great value for money, great food and location, great ambiance, very close to my Yakiniku experience in Japan, great place for a date or just a party with friends!
Only downer was that the waiting staff was very inattentive and we had to wait quite a bit to find someone to order drinks from mid meal.
The food quality was good. Staff was friendly. But the ambiance was not nice as the noises of staff smashing dirty plates into their cleaninh tray was unbelievably loud and was literally 1 meter away from our table. Would be nicer to keep this away from dining area.
I felt uncomfortable. The waiter does not work. It doesn't come even if I call accounting 5 times. I waited nearly 40 minutes. I like this BBQ. I hope staff will be improved.
Always lovely . Staff is absolutely professional and lovely ! Thank you so much for making every dinner special.
Awful service and average food. Disappoint. I would not recommend it to anyone.
If you like trying something new and love beautifully seasoned meat, this is perfect for you
This was a fun dining experience with a good combination of ready prepared food and food you grilled yourself, available on the Grand Menus. The Grand Menus were excellent value for money given the central London location, with plenty of food provided. The food was completely fresh. The staff we encountered were charming, helpful and very attentive even on a busy Saturday night.
Amazing place to enjoy perfect Japanese style barbecue. Been here many times. Friendly staff and 10/10 warm service. Better to reserve in advance. My favourite bbq in London.
We had a lovely time. The food was good, staff was a little chaotic but the friendliness more than made up for that!
Food and service was amazing! Definitely, recommend. Kintan is going to be a regular for me.
My daughter’s dessert (Smores) just arrived at the table, and the bill was put down. She hadn’t even started grilling the Smores yet. To make matters worse, I was charged full price for my Pint of beer (Monday is Happy Hour all day).
Was told it was policy to give out the bill “as soon as the dessert hits the table”. If true, then that is really shoddy management.
Not even an apology for getting the beer price wrong.
Don’t think I’d be visiting again soon.
Used to love this company.
Great food and price but the service is always so bad. Please train your staff.
Love the atmosphere and food, staff is friendly
Had a great experience
I love coming to Kintan during their happy hour, makes it really good value. I wouldn't bother getting the premium meats as I don't notice a big difference in taste. Great place to have a meal with a group of friends or a casual meal. The service can be a little hit and miss as the place gets super busy during happy hour, but most of the time it's great and friendly.
The food was excellent and very affordable. We really enjoyed it.
The food quality is just about okay and it's still very very far from real Japanese BBQ. As the other reviews said their service is not good. Also plates were really really dirty and we had to ask them to exchange but there was no apologies. Even after we got the replacement, the plates were still dirty but we decided to give up. Also the toilet was really dirty considering this restaurant is supposed to be slightly high-end. Lots of improvements are required.
I was kept waiting more than ten minutes whether there was little number of salesclerks until I sat down in my seat though I made a reservation.
The restroom was messy by the submergence, too.
Though it was Japanese rotisserie, I was sorry that there was not a Japanese salesclerk.
This is my worst dining experience ever! A green big worm serving in a chicken karaage🤢🤮🤮🤮. The waitress apologized but not sincerely, and how “generous” of them to offer a £5 discount for my bill, the hygiene problem and the service attitude are terrible af. Before we were leaving, the waitress told us “you can only to pay the beverages bill, but you don’t come here anymore”. I quoted her exact words, we didn’t give her a hard time, idk why she said such words. I loved to go to Kintan, but it disappointed me this time, me and my friends are not going Kintan whatsoever in the future.
Very similar to"Yakiniku restaurant" in Japan. Quality of food was very good. Price level was less than in Tokyo. Perhaps source on the meat could be reduced a little so that the customer can adjust the flavor. Service provided by a young Japanese girl was superb! She was friendly and efficient.
I'll definitely revisit there at least once a month.
Amazing place. The girl at the front of house was very inviting and friendly. Staff were well presented and very nice. Food was of great value during happy hour and delicious. Definitely recommend anyone to come here!
Food is okay but this restaurant is all about it’s atmosphere which is fabulous to spend some quality time with friends. Defo take a chance and visit them .
Amazing food and service, great that you cook the food yourself
Amazing food but we were put in a side room which meant that there was little ambiance
Went during Happy Hour. One of the meat we wanted was sold out and it was only 3pm, but because of their large meat selection, we didn't mind choosing an alternative. Food was tasty and at a good price. We were a little confused about how to cook some of the food but we called a waiter and they were kind to help. Service could've been a bit better; our waitress did not smile once when taking our order and it felt quite rushed. The atmosphere was quite loud but didn't mind too much. Overall a good experience. Would visit again for the food.
Always great! Try and go for happy hour! Good fun and really tasty
Had to wait almost 40 minutes for a spoonful of ice cream, no one noticed we were even waiting. Holburn Kintan was a completely different experience to which i'd happily go back to, but not Oxford Circus; was really unorganised.
Gorgeous food, buzzing atmosphere and attentive service
Nice experience where able to do the BBQ at your own table. Good variety of meat selections, fast service. Would definitely come back for another visit soon.
We ordered a meet lover set for two and 2 starters for 3 adults. That was plenty enough to share between us. Friendly service and amazing food. Clean and lovely Japanese style inside. We went there for my husband birthday and enjoyed ourselves a lot!
The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing although the portion sizes are huge! Overall a really fun experience.
Love the place! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Of course the food was amazing!! We’ll definitely come back!
The food is nice, the price is fair especially happy hour! I would recommend people going there when it’s happy hour!
Really enjoyed our visit, great food for good value
Great food , fab for sharing with friends and really good value.
I’m Japanese. I sometime go dinner with my wife and sons. This is nearly Japanese BBQ in London but need steam rice due to strong taste. I think this taste is customized.
If you select All you can eat on Sunday, it’s a little bit served slowly so you should order more and earlier and I recommend you to replace grill plate with new one once or twice to avoid burning up.
A great place to go for a special occasion or entertaining. The service was a little slow when waiting for drinks, the staff however were very nice. They also forgot to bring a rice plate out as part of the set menu, so we had to ask for this, once notified the staff quickly had this sent to our table. The food seems pretty pricey but it really isn’t when you take into account the amount of food, the experience and the atmosphere of the place. They don’t add or expect service charge either. A really fun evening that I will be recommending to everyone!
We were greeted and served with warmth and enthusiasm. The starters were very tasty and fresh - takoyaki and chicken karaage. The beef sukiyaki bibimbap looked and tasted great in the sizzling hot bowl. We had less luck with the BBQ - the meat did not cook evenly and stuck to the grill. I suspect we needed oil which was not offered. The meats were also too heavily seasoned. The ramen was also too salty. I believe this was just a one-off so I’d still be interested in returning.
Very nice place. The food quality is amazing. Will be back for sure!
This isn’t going to be a very honest review. First off. The food was good, not amazing, just decent. The meat was very chewy and the staff didn’t tell us how to cook it. But the other food was pretty good. Second, the service, some of the staff were pretty rude and looked like they didn’t want to be there. We had to literally yell for them to hear us, some of them didn’t understand English that well, so it was difficult to ask for things and order. Not that that’s a problem, I can’t force people to learn a language that isn’t theirs but if you’re going to work somewhere where most people speak English, you’re going to have to. Third, we asked for napkins, forks, spoons and knives. They gave it to us almost 15 minutes after we asked, and they also gave us one of our dishes after the bill came. It was very stressful and irritating. But I’d still go back again. I’ll look at the bright side, a lot of the food was decent and good, some of the staff were actually nice and helpful. And the seating was nice. Just wish they would’ve made our first dine there enjoyable.
