Our first visit to the Kirin restaurant and we had a lovely evening to celebrate valentines, lovely food, friendly and attentive staff and lovely ambience, we will certainly be returning and will bring our friends, thank you to the Kirin staff
Amazing place. Food is amazing, service is very efficient and fast. Great for work lunch. Very nice for a team outing as they have big tables and round ones for 10 people. Well decorated
We went to Kirin for celebrating the new year. They had greatest cold toll such as steamed chicken in chilli sauce. It is not really spicy but really tasty. We ordered the Kirin Mixed seafood as "seafood platter". I think we may try more different dishes in this platter and it was excellent! We also ordered the Peking duck for the main course. As it is very famous Chinese dish, this is my first time to try. It served with some cucumber, spring onion, sauce and pancake. It is interesting.
We arrived when they were just opend for dinner. The manager seems no really welcom us. We asked for a large table, then been told the minimum spend should be £400 something. We actually spent £385 (4adults and a 9-year-old boy) that night, and was allocated cornered joint tables. Really bed experience. Will never recommend.
Extremely great Chinese cuisine choice for everyone who works near bank station. I tried the Dong Po Rou with the staff suggestion. It is the pork belly with soya and wine scent in slow cook. Staff are welcoming and helpful. As I can't decide what to eat and ask them for any recommendation. Their suggestion won't let me down and surprising me.
Nice to find an authentic chinese restaurant in the city, with quailty for and a little off the beaten track so away from the hustle and bustle that goes with a city lunch. I will be sure to re-visit.
Food was fantastic thoroughly recommend dim sum, especially Xiao Long Bao and dumpling!! They are juicy inside and tasty. The service won't let me down. They take care of all customer very well. The restaurant decor is fully of chinese style. It is clean. Can't wait to come for trying much more main dishes next time.
It is great experience to have gathering with my friends. We launched the party in the restaurant with private karaoke room. We can enjoy the food and singing at the same time. Also, the large cosy private dining room make us so shock!!!! It is available to serve 20 people. Can’t wait to come back when I launch the party next time!!! I had a wonderful night there.
The meals are amazing, service polite, friendly and efficient and wine list is impressive. Especially the Aromatic Crispy Duck, it was amazing!! everyone should order this in their meal!! Prices are affordable, better to invite many people as you and order different types of choice to try more! We had a great evening and a great food experience. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Staffs are helpful. They will suggest some wine for dining. I would appreciate their suggestion. Also, the food were incredible especially seafood!! Their seafood were fresh and tasty!! The karaoke experience delighted our wonderful night with my friends. Will recommend everyone to launch a party by their private room :P
Great food as always. Terrific value as well
The location is absolutely fabulous for working in bank!
The restaurant is located between bank station and mansion house, it is excellent to enjoy Chinese dinning when I have lunch or after work. Highly recommend to order the Sautéed Fillet with Sizzling Chilli for the spicy lover! It was smelly and tasty!! Also, I found that it is very famous in Sichuan food!! It founds 30 years ago! Nowadays, Sautéed Fillet with Sizzling Chilli is still well-known around the world! It should be “must try item” in Chinese food especially in Kirins!!!
This restaurant is an excellent place to eat. The service was so great and responsible. Also, the menu and the food were tasty, especially the seafood. It is fresh to made.Highly recommend
First time for our friends, they were very impressed and enjoyed the whole experience. For us, we always enjoy the evening and food.
Food was nice but wasn't amazing. Waiters avoided us until they had to clear plates
best Chinese in the City
quite traditional Chinese cuisine. We ate the Duck pancakes for starter and had sharing plates for the main. Nothing amazing. Not much atmosphere. I probably won't return.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! A perfect evening celebrating my Dad's 75th birthday. We had the spring rolls, dim sum and crispy duck and it was all delicious!
Tasty food but nothing outstanding
Really good, delicate food. Authentic Chinese food in the heart of the city. It is a little dear but given the quality it is worth the little extra.
Really nice place -- lovely decor, great food, lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
fairly underwhelming experience food was ok but service very average. all in all expected more so will definately not be looking to retunr. pricewise reasonable.
We were sat in one of your karaoke rooms and completely forgotten about. Had to come out and look for a staff member to order anything and pay the bill. The room lacked all atmosphere and the sofas were too low to eat from.
Your staff also lacked knowledge on what was vegan friendly or any allergen information. They also admitted to buying some stuff in externally, which at the price of what you're charging is terrible!
it was great, food is very nice
Located in the city, this a quick place to have a catch up .
The evening was slightly quiet, and the service could have been more attentive as it was quiet.
The food was good and big portions
Excellent food and a lovely restaurant. The lady serving us was lovely, but the young man who dealt with us was quite dismissive. That aside, it is a brilliant restaurant...excellent food and great value for money.
Our table was booked for 1pm we turned up at 12:55 to be told they had just given our table to another customer it then took 20 mins for our drinks to be served. The food service was equally as bad it took almost 2hours to complete the food service!!!
We love this place! Often as a take away but last night we wnet there. Lovely. Wheelchair friendly!
After browsing online, I chose Kirin for my birthday meal. As a tradition I always have lobster for my birthday. The lobster I had in Kirin was simply the worst I’ve ever had! On the first bite I could tell the lobster was frozen for a long time. The meat was chewy and tasteless. It was coated in really thick batter, which was not normal for a Chinese ginger and garlic style. I left more than half of the dish, don’t even want to take it away. What’s even worst, they charge £70 for a frozen lobster+noodles! My husband had Beijing duck. It wasn’t good either, the meat was bearly warm and the pancake was cold towards the bottom of the steamer. The whole meal costs over £150 with no alcohol consumed. It was a bad dining experience and definitely the worst birthday lunch! I would not recommend this restaurant.
The service really brought down the restaurant. It was slow and not very helpful. The restaurant wasn't even that busy.
Really nice ambience, just the right side of Kitsch. Great choice of food and an unhurried service that allows you to chat and relax. The food was great and overall, with drinks, quite good value for money. They also have Karaoke if that's your thing, and thankfully doors to the Karaoke booths, which is a blessing.
Great food let down by non existent service. We had to ask for a menu, to order drinks, to order food and to pay. Our plates were left in front of us until we left. Will not return and wouldn’t recommend.
Definitely great quality Chinese food that’s not your usual Chinese Takeaway, so prepared to pay for it. It was a bank holiday so the restaurant was quiet and peaceful (it’s usually quiet in the City during bank holiday). Service was friendly and the lady stopped us from ordering too much and breaking the bank :D They have a few karoke rooms and the restaurant itself can be a great casual place for a special occasion. Very happy with my meal. We occasionally order takeaway from them but with limited choice.
Well, where to start.. we arrived for a long leisurely lunch having taken the afternoon off, booked into this restaurant for Friday lunch 1:45pm, ordered a couple of Chinese beers and was informed by the waitress at around 1:55pm that we needed to order by 2:30pm, no real problem with that BUT we had a problem with having to leave the restaurant by 3:00pm, most restaurants would still permit diners to take their time providing they don’t order any more food, but not this place. Do not expect a long leisurely lunchtime here.. I didn’t get to taste the food but gave it a rating of average.. we finished our pleasant beers and headed to a properly run restaurant..
Food was excellent as always - I do wish they would revert to having the option of a large basket of Shanghai dumplings, as they are sooooo good.
Restaurant very quiet on a Tuesday night, only 3 tables in use when we were there so it was very quiet. But very good service and nice food with reasonable wine list and prices. Would go back.
It was good to meet with my colleagues,
Great food as always and enjoy going there every time. Wish they could bring back their lunch menu they used to have as it was a good selection and very good value for money!
The food was ok but expensive, so not good value per money. We asked for a venison dish but instead it seemed beef. Mor
