From the OpenTable editors: At Chef Hiroshi Kitano’s Plateau restaurant, precise technique meets inventive twists on classic Japanese dishes. Made with top-tier local and Japanese ingredients, the fresh fish donburi and chirashi bowls stand out as some of the city's finest, while dishes like the uni carbonara, which weave in French and Italian influences, leave a lasting impression.

Executive chef: Hiroshi Kitano

This was my third visit to Montreal and my third visit to Kitano Shokudo. I love their food, the vibe, and of course, the people. They also have a great sake selection, including Daishichi, Tenmei, and Nanbu Bijin. **Try their mapo tofu with rice and pair it with Nanbu Bijin No Sugar Umeshu!** Already looking forward to my next visit!

The chef really invests himself into this place. The music is outstanding (his playlist), the decor is so cool (his design) and the food was amazing. It is small and intimate and really special.
