Service was inattentive, food was pretty good but not worth the money
Food was a bit meh and wet and tasteless I’m afraid
Authentic japanese udon. Loved it!
This is good place. The food is very delicious. The child enjoys the salad and noodle.
Tasteless food not great atmosphere so would not return
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly.
The waiter was really unprofessional and odd.
Food was excellent, but delivery was pretty off with plates arriving with a huge delay and one even got forgotten. But the food was excellent !
Noise level was goos since we where sitting outside.
The food is incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in authentic Japanese cuisine.
The pork belly is a must!
Pork udon is my usual go-to at Koya, but I tried the chicken and egg udon hotpot which was tasty, but nothing particularly special about it. I did think it was quite expensive for what I got (the hotpot) but the pork belly is definitely worth it.
Recommend their udon hiya atsu. Would like to try their other dishes next time.
Great food, friendly service (but sometimes difficult to catch the waitresses eye). Unfortunately quite a few of the items on the menu weren't available which was disappointing.
They left out the poached egg in my white fish udon.
Nice Udon Shop. Love their specials, would highly recommend trying.
Good overall but too much Koromo for prawn tempra - making it as three times as big as the size of the prawn on its own...
It was okay, wasn’t wow by it, think the one in soho is better.
The tempura don was not nice because the tempura was soaked into a sauce so it’s nor crispy at all, but soggy dough wrapped vegetables and prawn, and the batter wasn’t cooked through either. We did complain and they took it off the bill, but we paid half anyway.... maybe should just have the udon which is what they are specialised for!
Went with 3 other friends. None of us loved our meal. The mackerel udon had lots of bones in it. The chicken hot pot had small dry pieces of chicken. The service was fine but the ambiance lacking. It looked like the restaurant was unfinished.
It's such a nice experience for us with a kid(18month) - as the main Koya in soho don't have a facility for baby changing, but here in Koya city, based on its bigger space, they have a baby changing bathroom as well as they provide high chair for kids and they even have a half size of "kake" udon(most simple hot udon) on their menu, which I ordered for my kid and she loved it a lot!
I would definitely come back, and highly recommend for family visit.(I've already recommended to my mum friends!!!)
Food was great and portions were very big. However still felt a bit overpriced for what it was.
The service was slow and we often had to reorder things as they didn't show up.
Ambiance was fine too
Good canteen style place - nothing to fancy but staff are nice .
Delicious Japanese rice is hard to come by in London. Koya is the best.
Great ramen. Love it here; come here every time in london
Overall the service is ok. However, the manager (a woman) was not friendly and was not supportive in helping us. There is one guy ( I think he's a cook) was very nice and came to help us instead.
Very nice, the food was amazing and the staff helpful with what to surgest to eat on the day
Koya City was great! I ended up going there to avoid queing outside of the Koya Soho. This time I tried the pork belly (an absolute must) as well as some rice and miso. The kakeage was a little disappointing, but overall good.
IF you are going to try to find this place for the first time, don't solely rely on the GPS because it doesn't work in this BANK area... so rely on your sense of direction and logic.
Went with friends for a meetup we had different tas I had one of the black teas kukichai a wholesome taste they give you a pot so you get a fair amount the main I had duck and vegetable hotpot (kamonabe) I really enjoyed this dish and was full and very satisfied place is nice good for a meetup with friends or just a date, would book ahead.
Try the daily specials, they are fantastic fantastic!
I had the Kedgeree curry Udon ... the ultimate confort food and edgy combination!
Wow, great food, always Interesting specials and the best udon outside of Japan...
Specific waitress bordered on being rude. Otherwise, love Koya.
Always delicious and great location, food was really tasty
Excellent soba, exactly what we need for a cold night. Broths are amazing. Love this place.
disaster dinner. the service vas horrible. really slow and rude. We spent 2 hours waiting to be served after had been waiting 1 hour to be attended. The food was correct but cold and short quantity. I would only reccomend this restaurant to somebody that I really hate
Lively canteen style eatery with open kitchen food smell really nice and taste even nicer, lovely young lady waitress very attentive even when she reminded my friend and I that there's others booked our table she's so friendly highly recommended the belly pork simply the best
Chicken noodles were underwhelming. Wish I went for the shrimp tempura Donburi which looked and tasted far more interesting.
It’s good! Just that it’s a bit slow.
It was ok, but nothing amazing. Seaweed salad wasn’t great
One of the best restaurants in London. Always worth it.
Fantastic!! The best Japanese food in London, and a really great informal space tucked away in the city.
Koya City has great fresh Japanese food that really took us back to our holiday there. Good firm udon and really interesting specials.
Believe the terrible reviews, sat down for 30 minutes before giving up on the waitresses, i wouldn't mind but the place was half empty.
