Lovely Japanese food, highly recommend this place and would go back.

I have been there twice and loved it but the third time i was disappointed.
Not many things on the menu, i do not like the ordering system. Our menu/order was left on the table for ages. Too dark. Not impressed with the portions but taste was good

Delicious food and unique cocktails. Everything was excellent and we had a lovely time! We choose 7 dishes to share between 2 and it was the perfect amount.

Kujira used to be amazing and unique in Brighton. The food was interesting and well executed. Unfortunately the original chef is no longer there and the food was very disappointing, bland and most dishes came slathered in mayonnaise and sweet sauces/marinades. The whole experience was lacklustre, there was no atmosphere and it felt generally unloved. Such a shame as used to be my favourite.

Staff were really attentive which made the visit 5 stars. Pork ribs were amazing. Other dishes were good. Cocktail list was great.

Nice variety of tasty small plates. The vegetarian dishes were better - the squid and octopus were both a bit on the tough side. Good happy hour offers. Staff friendly and attentive, with good service overall.

Outstanding food and great selection of cocktails. Unfortunately the service wasn’t up to standard and we waited a lot to order but they were short of staff . Staff were super friendly and worked hard but they just needed more staff as the restaurant was full

We really enjoyed our food. We weren't entirely sure what we were ordering at times, as the menu didn't have any pictures (sorry), but the description gave us a reasonable idea.

We came here because after a Google search we found that they served the Matcha Mille Crepe Cake (after seeing it on Great British Bake Off). They weren't serving the matcha one the evening we dined but they had a mocha one, which was divine. So nice, we ordered an extra slice as takeaway to enjoy later.

Great food as always. Prefer the tables upstairs as it's a better ambience

A little gem - friendly staff and fairly priced food. You could pay double this price for a similar experience in London's west end and not eat half as well. Will definitely be going back.

Great food, very authentic, staff were very attentive. Loved the experience!

Food was astounding as expected! The plates came out pretty consistently. Our waiter was amazing, as well as balancing many more tables by himself, making drinks and hosting, he was brilliant and really attentive! Chefs were friendly and helping the waiter out when they could so nice to see tram work!
Only critique would be that for the price, the amount of food was a bit small, however, flavours and quality of ingredients were second to none!

Superb food and a real variety of flavours. The very first duck dish we had was unbelievably tasty and I knew we were in for a good meal. We had a vegan with us and there was a great variety for them also. Ordered way to much food but that’s how much we were enjoying it so we just kept ordering.

This place is UNBELIEVABLE! We have eaten out in many Japanese restaurants including some of the best in London and none of them even touched the food we had at Kujira. Servers and chefs are super nice and helpful, and food was so fresh and not heavy. Would definitely recommend as a place to try if your in Brighton!

This was our second visit to Kujira. We'd been wanting to go back for over a year and we weren't disappointed. Every effort has been made to make you feel safe and secure in regards to Covid19 and the food it just delicious. We couldn't pick a favourite dish but definitely try to scallops!

Food was absolutely delicious, particular favourites were the chicken skin robata, and the gyoza. Fantastic value for money, given the amount of food we ordered, I would’ve expected the bill to be at least £50 more than it was.

The restaurant is on a busy lively street at the top of a high. The service is okay depending on the waiter you have. We had a waiter who did not speak English. The food is good, fresh and as described. If does however arrive when it is ready so you may have to wait for sometime.
