We wanted to create a quality all day casual dining experience with a strong focus on speciality coffee and one that embraces Scandinavian design, cuisine coupled with sharing what we enjoy in the UK. KuPP. is about sharing a little of what we love about Scandinavia, proudly wrapped up in a big British blanket.
KuPP is about all day casual dining – it’s a place to meet and socialise, to drink, dine, graze and share. From an early morning breakfast to a midmorning coffee, through to lunch (not forgetting afternoon coffee of course), a few cocktails as the sun goes down and a delicious dinner shared with friends and family.

Lovely venue, felt a bit special. Only negative was it was a little on the cold side, and I’m always warm! Great vibe, good food, beautiful venue. I’ll definitely be back.
Overall the service was good, they were struggling a bit with capacity so that resulted in some waiting for things.
Excellent overall, especially the food which was really good.
The only reason service and ambience are not 5 star for me is that, perhaps because the place was quiet/empty, the service was a bit too ‘present’, and they started to dim the lights to close the place at 9pm, pretty much inviting us to pay our bill then. It was fine because we had pretty much finished by then, but had it not been for the not so subtle invitation to leave we might have stayed chatting for another 15mins or so.
We selected the KuPP platter to share suit was really good. Pared with a G&T it went very well. Drinks were a little slow to arrive however would still recommend.
Good food at a reasonable price. Friendly / helpful staff
I like Kupp. But every time I visit my food gets cold quickly as they plates haven't been warmed. I had the venison loin which was delicious, but not so great cold. For the price, I'd expect a warmed plate!
Service was great, cocktails are yummy, noise level just right so that one can hold a conversation but are still able to laugh without feeling you're disturbing others.
Good service and excellent food - value for money experience
Lovely environment and good service. Perfect if you like something a little different although there are straight forward options like steak as well. Plenty of varied seating (standard, bar, outdoor) and with brilliant views. We will definitely be going back again.
Friends in town and wanted to try something different
We booked at Kupp for a birthday treat for our daughter and husband.
We chose Kupp because we anticipated healthy eating options and the menu did indeed offer that.
Despite the restaurant being almost empty apart from a bottle of water being placed wordlessly on our table on arrival, we waited the best part of twenty minutes before being asked what else we might like to drink and longer still before our food choices were requested.
A huddle of four waiting staff were clustered round the till enjoying a relaxed chat for much of this time.
This lack of customer service is quite off putting, staff need to be much more attentive.
As my husband is vegetarian I opted to share a veggie platter but some of the items were on the bland side.
I felt not much imagination had gone into the choices.
This is my third visit to the restaurant but I haven't been sufficiently impressed thus far to want to return.
I'm disappointed because scandi food and the hygge vibe is right up my street and this place deserves to be buzzing.
The menu promises much but falls down on the delivery. My dish of grilled fennel and leeks was OK, but not well presented. There leeks and fennel were whole and difficult to cut -couldn't this have been done by the chef? I thought the addition of two slices of grapefruit a bit odd, though quite refreshing after I'd eaten what I could. The goat's curd was very tasty. It was a shame but the different elements of the dish just didn't come together.
Food was delicious, although portion size was very small. The staff were lovely.
Thought we try this for my husband's birthday. We like to try food from around the world and had not tried this before. We had the smorgasbord and were not disappointed. Really tasty and if you prefer to try lots of different dishes this is for you. Good value for money. The waitress and service was excellent, and small touches such as bringing tap water without having to ask for it is brilliant. We sat on the Terrance, and although you have the noise from the traffic, it 's a great view of Oxford and fun to guess the view if you're local. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Fantastic meal, the food was amazing! Staff were brilliant, just the right level of attentiveness without being all over us. We came as a group and everyone was so impressed with the whole meal. The views from the restaurant of Oxford were beautiful. We will definitely be going big again soon.
Interest Scandinavia food with great rooftop area for sunnier days
I can’t begin to tell you how deeply disappointed I am in KuPP. I’m such a fan of John Lewis and the service they consistently offer is brilliant. But this was not that, this was not close to the service or quality of John Lewis.
We were offered a deal via the JL app. £50.00 for two, drinks and a food board. The first two members of staff I engaged with couldn’t tell me about the food, if it was okay to eat if you have a gluten free intolerance. I was told that I couldn’t be offered a gluten free option.
The food arrived and was stodgy and very heavy. Not food you would expect to have on a lovely sunny evening. It was a meat loaf and meat balls. They didn’t taste particularly good. The food lacked flavour as well.
Don’t get me wrong I’m no food specialist and I don’t eat in ‘high end restaurants’. I just like something tasty and reasonable.
The restaurant lacked atmosphere, it felt sterile and a little boring.
We stayed for about an hour but neither of us feel the need to go back again.
Fantastic food and views. Relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
It was such a great atmosphere. Perfect for lunch with friends on a hot day. The food was delicious and the service was friendly.
POSITIVE: A lovely, light, airy restaurant.
Four of us had lunch. It was a warm day and we had a table inside, next to the terrace, giving us a welcome breeze.
We were pleased with our main course choices: chicken club sandwich, Kupp burger, hot smoked trout salad and goats cheese and kale salad.
The French fries were hot and crispy, and the portions were all generous.
NEGATIVE: We had one dessert, which was less successful: described as trifle, it was overly sweet and too dry to be a trifle.
The salads were served in bowls that were too deep, with ingredients that needed to be cut up, and the trifle was too dry to be served, as it was, in a jar.
OVERALL: A very pleasant dining experience. We look forward to returning.
Lovely roof terrace, good Fiske bord, slow service by staff who didn’t seem particularly well trained
Good quality food, great value. Just need to improve customer service.
Really quality food in a scenic roof-top atmosphere. Recommend the KuPP burger!
Service was a bit hit and miss, when he was with us he was great but he took our food orders and we had to call him back to order drinks. Took ages to get our bill at the end of the evening, and even longer to actually pay it. We ended up leaving the table in the hope that would make him appear with the card machine!
Great food though :)
Delicious food in a memorable setting, with spectacular views over the Oxfordshire countryside from the centre of Oxford.
Service was fantastic, food delicious and atmosphere great - a perfect meal out. Thank you Kupp!
Poor service although at 5.30pm hardly very busy. A tired smorgasbord.
Staff need training. Some food sold out and a partial starter served with no apology for the missing ingredient.
A substitute found on request.
Otherwise pleasant and helpful.

Lovely food in a cool setting but the service was slow and they got the drinks order and food order wrong. Also slow to show up with the kids’ desserts and the adults’ desserts menu. Sort out the service and you have a winner.
Really lovely meal again in this fab place with amazing views. Food fresh and tasty and excellent value. Music right volume and just right. I will definitely be back and recommend.
Bellissima location e ambiente molto curato, molto gentili i membri dello staff. La qualità dei prodotti utilizzati è abbastanza buona ma il tocco della cucina nordica è davvero blando; è sostanzialmente un menù inglese con qualche twist per farlo sembrare scandinavo, onestamente mi aspettavo di più!
Another good lunch experience. Visitors from Northern Ireland were suitably impressed - liked the view and enjoyed the food. The sunshine was an added bonus so we were able to eat outside.
From when we arrived and until we left, our waitress was friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed our visit. Our meals were excellent, served promptly and all we expected them to be. This was our second visit and we will be back in the future
Excellent as ever. Really love the food, decor and ambience as well as great friendly service.
Excellent service, but in a very empty restaurant. Perhaps not a big restaurant night. Bords are super, meals options well explained, lovely wine, bet the cocktails are great.
We were lucky to have nice weather and got to sit outside on the patio overlooking the countryside from four floors up. Food was delicious and a wonderful opportunity to try something new. I'm not sure if it was our server's first day but she seemed very unsure of what she was doing and seemed to struggle quite a bit. But it all worked out fine and we weren't in any rush. Would definitely come back next time we're in Oxford.
Place is designed well and has a lovely outdoors area. The thing that let's this place down is the unbelievably slow service. We waited 25 mins for our drinks to arrive followed by another 15 for the starters. The mains arrived around 10 minutes after the starters which is good but the initial wait is far too long. Tastes great though!
We had a lovely lunch on the sun terrace. Great food and super sevice from Jean-Pierro and others.
Located in the John Lewis that recently opened in Oxford the restaurant is on the top floor and has balcony access, although the view of this restaurant in the new Westgate Centre looks away from Oxford and not towards the dreaming spires. Nice place, but a bit irritating because of a regular refrain of 'that dish or beer is unavailable'. As it is a printed menu I kind of expect that goods offered are available. But to be fair the food we had was excellent. It was an irritation not a major failing.
Good friendly service and the damage for a lunch fr 4 was a reasonable £70.00. Good place for a lunch/brunch.
Great food and ambience. Staff were lovely but cleared our plates away before last person had finished which was quite uncomfortable. Brought the bill without asking for it before we had even finished drinks. It was really quiet so couldn't understand why we were being hurried along so much!
Ran out of two things we wanted on the menu on Saturday lunchtime including Gravadlax! Service slow. Didn't tell us in advance what they had run out of. Restaurant wasn't busy and seemed to have plenty of untrained staff. I had arranged to take friends and it was disappointing
