Kurobuta - Marble Arch
Very over priced and poor service
The staff certainly made sure we felt welcome, I rolled out of there we ate that much food in the end. The prawn tempura was a highlight.
Great food, great service, a very enjoyable night out! Quiet as it was Monday... am sure it would be more lively other week nights. Am definitely going back
I loved this place when it first opened but hadn't been back in a few years. Showed up to a rude maitre'd, a waiter than can only be described as high off something, and horrible food. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss.
It was embarrassing. The restaurant was empty and dirty. We asked for three dishes, and two were wrong. I asked for a roll without avocado, they gave it to me with and when I said it was wrong all they did was take the avocado out of the plate. This is unacceptable. The dishes were overall poor and tasted very badly. Extremely low quality. What was worse, is that two waiters were high on marijuana and smelled like weed. Not very professional is it?
Never disappointed with the food. Always delicious and full of flavour. Great cocktails. Service could be better as it wasn't too busy. Always one of our favourite restaurants though so will definitely be back soon.
Went for the all you can eat buffet option. Well worth it.
Food quality is not very good and the service was very slow. I would not recommend it
The value for money ratio is very low. The food is OK but the price is too high.
Delicious, though fairly pricey food. If you can bare with the dreadful Billy Joel and other 80's music mix tape, it's a good night out.
Birthday and they gave a free shot - cheers!
good food but far too noisy to have a conversation or understand what the waiters were saying
Service and vibe of the place was great. The food, however, was a let down! Such a shame as I was really looking forward to it. The waiter recommended a few dishes- none of which we were impress with!
Really great food and really great service.
Make sure you order a few different things and share it. Great music too!
We didnt get that this was some kind of tapas restaurant until it was too late. Would have been great with a little help from the waiter to help us get it right. We ate our food and too late realized we had gotten it all wrong.
The food was a bit heavy and oily though tasty. It is a good place for a hearty meal but it is not the healthiest one. The staff is friendly although a bit in a hurry. Overall ok experience but not going to be a returning customer.
We were visiting London to watch the NFL game and needed a place to go eat that was close to our hotel and not Fish and Chips!!! We found Kurobuta which was a close walk and decided to try it out.
The food was fantastic and the Menu had lots of choice. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We say the Tuna Roulette which was a Spica Tuna roll with one piece having super spicy hot sauce on it. The idea was you would each take a piece and the winner gets to do the shot that came with it. We still talk about it.
Check it out - have some fun and enjoy.
Good food, fair ambiance, good music but too loud and so so service.
Scandalous... The service at our table was nithing less than scandalous bad, and almost anything they did went wrong. As a start, they let us alone at the tablke for almost 15 minutes, they never asked us for a drink as an introduction, they took our order but 3 out of 4 first servings were wrong... Several drink orders did never arrive our table, and in general the service staff had no system nor control at all. In fact, some of the waiters seemed to appear and be influenced by drugs... Totally lost and completely confused.
They had a birthday party in the bar area, and the noise level was furious and NOT aceptable. A lot of the tables and people close to the bar section were really annoyed by this.
The food we got was quiet nice, but the whole dinner experience was ruined by bad service and extreme noise. It is really sad, because the kiotchen and the food in the menu seemed interesting and tempting.
Amazing food, great quality and fast service. Fun and friendly staff. A bit loud but the quality of the food makes up for it. Also very good quality for the price you pay. Will definitely be back.
I was really disappointed in the restaurant. I’ve been told it was a great place, with a nice atmosphere and really tasty food. However, it wasnt very classy, was very noisy and the food was greasy and very expensive - considering the portions that were super small... Weve paid the same price than another really good chef restaurant we’ve been at. If Michelin rated it well, I believe it might have been years ago, or I would like to believe that the one on Chelsea is better...
We went here because it was recommended by a friend and they have posted on the door that they have won a Michelin Star three years in a row. The service was somewhat slow and it seemed they only had on waiter for the whole dining area. They got our order wrong and brought out ribs for one course rather than pork belly. Some of the tastings were pretty good (Wagu beef sliders) while others were meh. Really not what I expected from a Michelin Star restaurant even if it is on the less expensive side.
Best asian food I’ve had. Japaneese with a touch of awesomeness. Drinks were great as well
Fantastic food - some great unusual "Japanese tapas" style dishes. Great for people who love Japanese food and would like to try something a bit different. It's really best when you go with at least one other person who likes the same sort of things (e.g. can eat fish or meat) so you can share, but there are fantastic veggie options too! Only downside I'd say was the price can be a bit high, especially for drinks - we were surprised that the small-ish cokes were £5 each. Overall though I'd say it's worth the money for a treat and definitely if you're looking for something a bit different to the regular Japanese offerings.
Not quite at the level of specialist sushi places but the hot food and generous drink service made up for it. Staff were very funny and altogether a good time.
Terrible service. Food was average at best. Avoid.
Great ambience, fabulous service, really attentive and fun. Menu was filled with many great sounding dishes, hard to choose, the waiter made it easy for us to pick a varied selection. All extremely tasty. Highly Recommend.
Great service, amazing food, only sometimes the wait for food was a bit long, but it was superb! Absolutely returning!
Disappointed with my visit to Kurobuta. Usually an all time favourite but realy poor service on the day. Lond delays in arrival of food. Its meant to be a sharing dish type of restaurant. First 2 dishes arrived late and then waited a long time for the rest to arrive which just arrived all at once..staff didn’t behave professionally at all when we compained. Seemed like it was all a bit of a joke for them..!
We had a fantastic time for our first visit to Kurobuta. We will return for sure. Ambiance was excellent and staff very attentive and friendly. Food was wonderful, with some really creative options. Music was spot on too! Great place!
Last time we went was 3 years ago when the original chef was cooking up a storm. Sadly since he's left the overall offering appears to have suffered. Was OK, passable, but at £45 per head with only 1 drink each (so could easily have been more) I'm not sure it's worth it anymore
I am utterly shocked at the service we received this evening from your manager ‘chico’ at the Marble Arch branch. The service was horrendous, we waited an hour for our food we were the first ones there (on not a busy night) and everyone was served before us.
We asked how long the food would be Chico said ‘its not like I can cook it myself, it’s up to the chef’
After waiting 25 mins for the birthday dessert, we asked for bill and I politely said ‘dont Mean to be rude but given the amount of bill and the service charge it’s shocking what type of service we recieved’ And Chico responded ‘I knew you were going to complain so I already took of fries didn’t u notice that’ to which I said ‘do you think that this is appropriate for a manager to say’ he said ‘what do you want me to say it’s a busy night’ to which I replied ‘it is hardly busy, what’s your name?’ To which chico responded ‘you wouldn’t know how to spell it, it’s italian’
I’m so shocked we paid almost £300 pounds this evening for horrific and horrible service and I have to say this isn’t the first time at this branch.
I hope you deal with that branch because the food you serve is incredible, if only the service standard was up to par.
This used to be amongst my favourite restaurants, but the menu has changed, the bill was eye watering and the food average - thankfully I enjoyed the company I was in: she agreed too though
Amazing food, really chilled atmosphere and service that was the perfect blend of chilled, knowledgeable and attentive. Would definitely recommend - the Chilean seabass was an absolute highlight!
excellent food, enjoyable night out
was quiet on a friday night
I've been here a few times but the last visit was a couple of years ago so its been a while. It did not disappoint at all and the person I was with loved their first visit. The service from the moment we walked in was great, served straight away and first dishes at the table in less than 5 minutes, which is great when you're starving! Food was amazing quality without the crazy west end price tag that you would get in other places. I love the casual vibe here as you don't need to dress up and it's not pretentious in any way, it's literally all about the food. I'm a massive foodie and have eaten in some amazing places, and this is up there. Nice for a date, couples, groups, any occasion.
Visited here for lunch with my mum. Friendly staff and delicious food! The only downside were the toilets weren't particularly clean!
Tiny portions for what you're paying for. We were recommended to get 4-5 items to share, and we thought that we would be full on these but because each plate was small we could have ordered double. At that price, I expected more
Great choice of small dishes, very tasty. Amazing staff, very good music
Excellent food and drink, a little slow service at the start but picked up a little afterwards
