Best Indian food in London. Standout dishes were the prawn massala , cauliflower samosa and both the chicken dishes. Service very good and staff very pleasant. Only complaint and we were unlucky was that we were seated next to a loud obnoxious woman and all we could hear was her voice.

We’ve been going to Kutir and it’s predecessor Rasoi for years. Sadly our experience last night did not live up to prior dining standards at Kutir — service was a circus and not as professional and polished as one would expect both based on our previous experience at Kutir and the fact that it’s a high-end fine dining restaurant. Food was uninventive and lacked creative flair though it was spicy and flavourful — overall, it felt like just a traditional North Indian meal served as a tasting menu, which doesn’t justify charging £70-80 per person. Overall left disappointed based on the standards we have experienced at Kutir and it’s sister restaurant Manthan, which was a shame.

Food was very good and the wine list reasonable. Being in a townhouse is a bit of a drawback - a noisy party on the other side of the small room where we were seated became intrusive towards the end of the evening. The real disappointment was the service - officious at best, verging on the aggressive at worst - lots of leaning over each of us to reach items on the table, clearing plates when not all of us had finished and very little warmth or friendliness - save for the drinks waiter who was jolly. Despite the lovely food it is not an experience I will be rushing to repeat.

We took a special guest of ours there for a real treat. Unfortunately we agreed would have been better to visit a more standard Indian restaurant for all the fanfare of this, the food was actually not great. We expected something terrific and a real experience following the reviews that lead us there. The staff were overly attentive, slightly formal/awkward, so not relaxed and the ambiance a little sterile. The deserts were however really great. We had the tasting menus.

It can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food is sublime and the interior of the restaurant is one of a kind. Everybody should experience Kutir if you appreciate amazing food. I genuinely can't wait to go back.

My reservation was 8.45pm , the T&C’s of the restaurant, they will hold your table for 15 minutes. We arrived 8.30pm for a 8.45pm reservation. We were taken to an outside table for a pre dinner drink, while our booked table became available. 15 minutes went by, until a waiter acknowledged us. 9pm still outside we were informed our inside table would be ready in another 15 minutes! 9.15pm !!!! What happened to a booked reservation- not acceptable. 9.15pm the waiter returned and suggested we have our appetisers outside then move inside for our mains - I responded I’m not moving during courses. This is unacceptable service. Our options were to wait for an inside table or eat outside, which we opted to eat outside as we had been waiting to dine for an hour. We were offered a measly popadom for service recovery! Which the waiter forgot! The mains were cold bearing in mind last orders are 10pm When enquiring to the waiter what are the sauces his response being “I don’t know” Not “let me find out, or do you have an allergy”! Very poor service and one should always know a product when serving a paying customer. “I don’t know” and walking off is unacceptable. To end we realised the wine we ordered , following top up’s had changed to a bottle we did not order!!! I was recommended to Kutir by clients. One was led to believe this reliable and reputable restaurant was going to be a great experience. Far from it. Over rated, below average service, poor waiters, average food and over priced. I have experienced far better service and food from other reputable Indian restaurants within the area.

Food was fine, except salmon which was too salty - but this is absolutely not a step up from regular Indian restaurant food. Given the price - £70 for the signature tasting menu - we were expecting to be surprised by new and interesting spice combinations, but were disappointed. We really couldn't recommend Kutir for a special restaurant experience.
