We are now open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. During this extra hour from 10PM-11PM we will only be serving our Brick Oven Pizza.
Been dying to try La Banca and it wasn’t a disappointment. Came to La Banca for a date night with my husband. Was moderately busy and we were seated on the second floor. Our server was friendly and provided great service. One of the better servers we’ve had in a long time. We ordered the pork belly appetizer and each had pasta dishes for our entrees. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were perfect. I couldn’t give 5 stars only because it took a very long time to receive our appetizer. Over 30 mins. We weren’t in a hurry but were hungry. That’s why we ordered an appetizer. Our entrees arrived within 10 mins of finishing our appetizer which was perfect timing. Overall, we very much enjoyed our visit. Excited to come back and try other menu items.
Excellent Meal! Great food and service. Definitely the top restaurant in the area, hands down.
Third time to La Banca after a poor first experience followed by a much better 2nd experience followed by a disappointing third experiences . 2 of us had the capellini salsiccia and were disappointed. And this was after asking if it was different than the first time I had it and was told yes it was not the sausage bits ( like bacon bits) that were in the original dish. Our waitress knew exactly what we were talking about as she was the waitress who served us out first time there. Sure enough it comes out with sausage bits and tasteless. Another friend had the gnocchi that was also tasteless, didn’t enjoy it. 2 had the salmon and like it and 1 had the pasta and meat Sauce and liked it. 50 / 50 and no one walked out saying that was great. Trying to support local restaurants during these very tough times but to spend that kind of money we would all expect to enjoy our dinner and look forward to going back.
Salmon starter was delicious, pork belly outstanding. Our entrees were impressive and very good. Try this place, you'll like it!
This was our first visit. The food and service were great. We will definitely be back.
Food was excellent. Was hot when served which is something I want when I eat out. Thor our server was very attentive.
It was good and decent.
Food and service were fantastic.
It’s by far the best upper end restaurant in Middletown (as of March 2020). If you are looking for most calories for the $, this isn’t your place. If, however, you are looking for a dinning experience like you might find in Hockessin DE, Bucks County PA or Princeton NJ, this is your place. The menu is well crafted, the portions are controlled, the ingredients are fresh, the preparation is well executed. I personally love the atmosphere that comes from the ambiance of a converted bank. In terms of ambiance it’s like a much smaller and more austere version of Del Frisco’s in Philly.
If you are concerned about money, check the menu and see if the prices work for you before you go. it’s very well priced for the quality of the food and experience you get, but that doesn’t mean it’s cheap.
We had dinner with 2 other couples who had never been to La Banca. Our waiter Thor was great. He explained the menu and answered all of our questions. He was very nice and knowledgeable about the preparation of the food. Calamari was prepared perfectly and that is hard to find. The menu is updated often and there is a nice variety of foods. The other couples were very happy with La Banca and enjoyed the restaurant.
All of our pasta dishes were excellent. Homemade pasta that is made here truly makes a difference. Flavor and presentation complimented our meals. Service was on point. Great team work!
The wait staff and food were great, and everything is made from scratch in house!
Got wrong entree didnt say anything since food took long to come pd $23 instead of $17 for what i ordered. It was good but not for $9 over what ordered
LaBanca is a fantastic restaurant - elegant but very friendly with exquisite food. Great for any occasions, You will love it!
Thor was a great waiter. We had martinis in a footed short glass that were hard to handle. Atmosphere was too open for us. We sat under the steps, and every time guests would ascend the staircase it sounded like my kids were jumping on their bed upstairs. Terrible wine list..... I know you are an Italian restaurant, so appreciate the Italians by the glass, but prefer the Cali wines (several cabernets to choose from would be very nice).
It was great, amazing good and amazing spot. I did. Not like that the hostess asked if i wanted to sit downstairs when I specifically said I wanted an upstair reservation. None the less an amazing experience!
The food was amazing! And the portions were appropriately sized. The carrot cake was delicious! And, our waiter was extremely knowledgeable. Definitely a place to return to!
Food was excellent and enjoyed the dining experience. Definitely coming back
Great real date night dining experience where you can sit back and enjoy great food and company. The decor and ambiance exceeded expectations. The service was awesome considering we got small plates to enjoy and share, our server had them staged to not come all at once; it added a wonderful element to our dining experience while enjoying a bottle of wine. The dinning experience was truly priceless and worth every penny.
Had a table if 4 with my wife and children on a Saturday and as soon as you walk in the beautiful staircase and bar catch your eyes. We were seated immediate on the 2nd floor and graciously welcomed by our waitress, Hailey. She was present and very tentative. We had the Grilled calamari and antipasto pizza as appetizers. Our main course were the Ribeye, Rockfish and Squid Ink. We thought the food was very well prepared and very flavorful! We thought it was an little pricey for the portions you get but overall a nice experience. I recommend it and ask for Hailey as your server!
music upstairs too loud, but service was fantastic. Pizza was great! Wine pour was only 4oz pour, should consider a 6oz pour and increase to $10
La Banca is a beautiful restaurant, located in a former bank building. We were seated immediately upon arrival, approximately 5 minutes before our reservation time. The staff was friendly, but the service was slow on Valentine's Day, even though the restaurant didn't seem overwhelmingly busy.
The calamari appetizer was good but the entrees we ordered were bland and served lukewarm.
On a positive note, La Banca has nice selection of wines and beers (bottles and draft) at reasonable prices.
Because of the looks and atmosphere of La Banca, we will give it another try. We want to try their pizza and hope the next experience will be better.
Best dining experience in Middletown.
I made a reservation almost a month before valentine's and had a table by the front door which was freezing. When asked to.move.we were put at a high too in the bar. Food was mediocre at best.
It was an amazing valentines dinner. A single rose was handed to me when I walked thru the door. We were seated right away and the server was attentive but let my husband and I have our date night. Coming over just to check in and refresh drinks and drop food. My husband and I were able to have an enjoy date night. Food was top notch. Will definitely be back
Dinner was good but service was not it took 10 mins before someone came to us and that was the water boy. Too long getting drinks and appetizer so you need to work on service part the waitress was friendly just need her to be more prompt. Food was very good and overall good experience and we would return and hopefully service part will improve
Food was slow coming out.
Fantastic service and atmosphere. Wish menu was more expanded, or at least have more than one daily special.
It is a nice place but I have to rate it as just Ho Hum. Nothing to write home about.
Had an early valentine's dinner with the hubs....awesome food and drinks...limoncello martini to die for...Thor our server was outstanding.
We’ve recommend 4 people already. Our waiter Thore was fantastic. As it was our first time he answered all our questions. Our appetizer of calamari with garlic oil lemon sauce was so perfect. We each had a salad, are once again just done up beautifully presented. Our entrées were both delicious as well.
Appreciate this nice upgraded restaurant in our area.
The food and service were excellent and we would not hesitate to go back. My only complaint would be that it is difficult for a handicapped person to reach the front door. While there is handicapped parking at the rear of the restaurant, one must walk along the side of the building, across the front of the building to the ramp, then up the ramp to the front door....essentially three sides of the building. Perhaps an entrance directly from the parking lot could be added???
Saturday evening. Had reservations and was seated immediately upon arriving. They were short staffed but our server who was tending the bar as well did a remarkable job. We sat downstairs- actually main level. Noise level was high but accep.
It was our 41st anniversary. It is a beautiful place. Food was very good and our server Thor was excellent. My only complaint is their cocktails and wine are on the skimmy side for the price. But overall everyone enjoyed the evening 😋
Great experience and atmosphere. Jill was awesome. We had the salmon and pizza.
Our first time at La Banca. It was a Friday night and busy, but not packed or too busy.
Food was very good, but the kitchen needs to get their timing right. All of our "hot" food came out warm to lukewarm. And the courses came out to close to each other.
The salad make up was very good, but was barely dressed. When asked when we were ordering, she said it was lightly dressed. We originally wanted the arugula salad, but were told they were out of Arugula. We also felt a bit rushed by our server.
The only other issue was there must have been kids upstairs and right over our table we could hear the banging of them running around during our entire meal.
However, We will go back and give it another try.
The sea bass was great as was the salmon. We will definitely be returns
Food was delicious. One friend had an sleepy and it was hard to accommodate her. Most of the dishes could not exchange sides, etc. If you have very specific needs, would recommend checking the menu ahead of time.
Otherwise food and service were excellent and we will definitely be back.
With son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Great meal!!
The service was great and so was the food! It’s a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.
We love going there!
