The quality of the food was pretty low. The cod and octopus were inedible - the octopus was over cooked and the cod was under cooked. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money - the quality of food is not worth the price point.
The food was good I just found it to be way overpriced for tapas. Spent $200 for three people at lunch time. Ambience was good, service was good but will not return.
Had very enjoyable lunch. Variety of selections was good. Some of the dishes were excellent but others were so so. The service was very good and so was the wine.
Good food and drinks very much like Spanish food in Spain
Bit of a hit and miss unfortunately. The gazpacho was excellent, as were some of the other tapas (chorizo, jamon). But others were frankly lackluster (calamari, ensalada rusa, churros). Service was efficient, though not particularly warm. And being able to order right through our phones meant everything came to our tables quickly and efficiently. Value is also good. But a mixed bad overall.
Great food, food service, definitely make reservations!!!
Service was very slow. They were out of several items on the menu. Just a very average experience.
Host was not available at stand upon arrival, but rushed seating once she saw us — didn’t notice that we had stood there for a while.
❤️🇪🇸Delectable tapas & outstanding cocktails with attentive service in a casual environment🇪🇸❤️
La Barra brings a little bit of Spain to New York City. My guest and I thoroughly enjoyed the casual tapas and drinks.
It almost feels like you’re in Spain
We expected an upscale restaurant. Based on what we know of the Aldria reputation, we were so looking forward to a creative and imaginative experience. What we got was ordinary with no excellence.
There is absolutely no reason to return. Where was the mouthwatering food? Where were the delicious tastes, the symbol of Barcelona and Spain?
The wait staff was efficient and friendly. Some were more knowledgeable than others. But, oh, what a disappointment. This was our first trip to New York after all of us were fully vaccinated. We were sure this would be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate. What we got was less than ordinary.
So delicious! Great product; tastes like Spain. Food came quickly; Covid precautions were easy to follow. A truly special place in NYC.
Although everything we ordered was wondeful. It seemed like the menu was more limited than on previous visits. Although there are some kinks in the ordering app. It continues to be a wonderful restaurant despite this.
If you have traveled to Spain you will find these are traditional dishes, which is nice BUT, in Spain they cost a fraction of the price and you get a lot more. I was hoping for a twist on traditional Spanish food--after all, it's Jose Andres but these dishes are ordinary Spanish tapas/dishes you get throughout Spain or all over certain regions of Spain. We liked it but we liked Oyamel in D.C. much better because it was a twist on traditional Mexican food. La Barra's menu seems like a lazy effort for Jose Andres.
Nos sentimos como de vuelta en España. Ahora por el COVID hay que reservar mesa y es más tranquilo, por el contrario hay mucha menos variedad pero aún así maravilloso. La comida riquísima.
Great food but a bit pricey for what you get. Wines by the glass were particularly expensive. The contact-free ordering and paying system was complicated, but the staff were very helpful.
Anytime we are in NYC, we visit El Mercado for a taste of Spain. Jose Andres and his group have worked within the constraints of Covid to continue to offer a gastronomic tour of Spain. We had the Iberico Ham, Manchego Cheese, Pulpo (Octopus), Gambas al ajillo (Shrimp sautéed in Garlic) and Boquerones en Vinagre (anchovies in vinegar). The pulpo was a bit overdone but everything else was spot on and brought back some of our favorite foodie memories of our month in Spain. It is a pleasure to eat such authentic food and patronize a restaurant owned by this great humanitarian.
Amazing service and delicious tapas. Unfortunately we were surprised to see very few people dining in Little Spain. Not even close to pre-pandemic numbers of diners. It’s a great time to go before the crowds return!
Great COVID-19 protocol and nice services.
Went very well, portion sizes to share were perfect!
Really Bad Service, food just OK and
Overpriced. Not going back
Food was amazing, the service even better highly recommended
Advertised as a bit of Barcelona but nothing like the real thing. Ordering through the App was weird but efficient. Shouldn't have ordered everything at once because it all came at once; now we know. Tapas were good and a nice selection.
Little Spain is my favorite place to eat in NYC! Truly the most authentic, delicious food from Spain.
While the market lost its pre-pandemic buzz and variety, the food they serve is still top notch, and service very friendly and efficient. I am just glad they are open and I can still have good Spanish tapas.
Tasty amazing food! The tables are far apart enough and the servers are so nice!
Great food, great environment, quick, just a little expensive- but nothing to deter me from going back. I would recommend it!
Delicious authentic tapas and sangria. Prices are a bit high. Those small plates add up. Online self-ordering system at the table was a bit confusing but waiter was helpful and willing to place our order.
There is nothing better than the Spanish way of eating tapas, drinking wine and enjoying good conversation. La Barra brings that to you, authentic Spanish tapas which is delicious, great wine and vermouth, and surroundings that buzz with life. When I miss my favorite bar in Madrid, or cafe in Sevilla, this is where I head over to. Highly recommended!
Love this place!
Valentine’s Day, meal was excellent
Def a great spot to eat after touring Hudson Yards holiday display. Do not sleep on the fried calamari. Simple, delicious, and perfectly executed
Good and ambiance were excellent. Would highly recommend.
100 dollars for 2 appts and a sangria and the cheese board barely had prosciutto and any cheese total hoax!
I’ve been here prior to the pandemic: everything was great. This time the portions were extremely small, the pork was undercooked and the items were overpriced.
Food and serviced were great. Didn’t love the ambience.
Posto meraviglioso, a causa covid non tutti i banchetti erano aperti .... ma esperienza fantastica!
Limited service and limited menu. We ended up leaving and not eating. Unfortunate since Venue is really nice.
