La Bodega Negra – Café
Amazing birthday dinner with the best watermelon margaritas and Tuna tostados ;)
Excellent service, never fails to deliver! Amazing food and atmosphere
Great food as always, just a shame about the disjointed service and attitude of the bar man.
Amazing food and service, made my friends birthday really special. We also LOVED spinning the wheel of fortune ! Thanks for a great night, we will be back!
Great service. Lovely food. Wonderful atmosphere. Loved it.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Visited the restaurant twice this weekend because it was so good. Wished they had this restaurant in Germany, the closest to authentic Mexican I have had outside of the United States. Looking forward to my trip in October!
Had an amazing time at La Bodega Negra cafe.
The most perfect place to have a birthday dinner with friends.
Very poor quality food which resulted in us having to waste our entire meal and look for food elsewhere.
Not as good as the first time we visited. I made a reservation in advance as I know they get extremely busy. We traveled a distance and we got stuck in traffic. I phoned ahead to say we were running late. Arrived and they couldn’t find my reservation, I had to show them my confirmation email. Food was good but not as good as the last time. Chicken on the fajitas was a tad dry and the vegetable burrito was extremely spicy with jalapeños- which weren’t in there last time we had it. We went back mainly for the amazing cheesecake they have. We went to order it to then be told they only had ice cream or churros- this was a disappointment.
Disappointing. I was a bit underwhelmed - the food was fine and the cafe itself was average and service was dismissive. Marguerita Monday was also a bit of a scam as it's not valid for all margueritas but isn't pointed out anywhere until you get the bill. Wouldn't bother going back.
Nothing special, normal food for a high price but was okay, I like the place. What I didn't like specially was the music level, was really too loud.
Food was not good
We had a lovely meal, really tasty. It was the perfect place to go before the cinema. Will definitely come back. I will go to the restaurant next.
Our service was terrible and our waiter was extremely rude. I will not be going back again
Good food. Great value on Taco Tuesdays.
Nice feel at the cafe with excellent position next to the Palace theatre! Ideal for Voldemoert
Fun night. Efficient service great quality food and portion size.
Fairly average food. We got the £10 lunch plate deal, and the food was fine for this price, but I would've resented paying more for it. Margaritas were good, but £35 for a jug is just too much. Service a little bit slow, but also really lovely staff. Atmosphere is great and quite fun. I'd come here for drinks again, but not the food.
Booked a table, the table was confirmed, arrived and the restaurant was closed
Had a very rare opportunity to have a evening out without kids. I looked up best Mexican restaurant in central London and this came up. Checked the menu. Checked the website and settled on this.
Arrived and went downstairs to the restaurant and was told they didn’t have my booking. I asked them to check and they told me I had booked in the cafe. Not once did opentable or the website mention the cafe. When going to the of the booking email and clicking on the link it took me to the main restaurant website
So my wife and I are dressed up having just been for cocktails and then sent to the cafe. We felt over dressed and out of place.
If I wanted cheap street food surrounded by tourists I would have gone to Nando’s.
We then were not found in the booking system asked to wait then scorned at and asked what we were doing. When then shown to a table the waitress stopped to get menus and we waited to only be asked by someone else what were we doing!?!
The menu was basic, the service bad and the setting loud and crass.
We ordered starters and drinks. The starters came and it then took the waitress to come over to realise we had no drinks and then we were brought the wrong drinks. On top of this the margarita was obviously a batch made and smelt of chemicals.
I am not sure which bit of my evening was the biggest let down. Having slept on it and thought it was the fact that my wife and I have 4 nights a year approximately when we don’t have kids and we wasted it on this place!!!
I feel let down, conned and very upset.
The worst thing is I booked this months ago so not even like I scrambled for a table.
On top of this for a restaurant with about 40 tables there were 2 toilets which were shared with both men and women.
It was great, except halfway through our meal it got soo loud! Good for a few drinks and food with friends as long as you don’t want to have any level of conversation
I did't think much of it. The food was mediocre and the service was slow.
Not bad, the cafe was nice and lively on a Friday night but the food was just average, I did expect a little better.
I’d be happy to try the main restaurant as the menu is different, had a couple drinks in the restaurant bar in there which were good, also the entrance is rather interesting ;)
Great ambient and really nice service!!food nice but the key is the cool ambient and place!
Food is delicious and the menu has a lot of tasty options. Although i would recommend it for a group night, there’s honestly too much noise - too loud music - and after a while it gets hard speaking to eachother.
Very good ambience, excellent service and great music! But very expensive for the quality of food
Went here for a birthday treat, ate in the cafe as restaurant was booked out. Food was lovely however you do need to order a few plates if going for the smaller dishes. I had the fajitas and they where a really generous portion but my boyfriend ordered 4 of the tacos and he prob could have had more !
Cocktails where really tasty but are small for the price. Service was 10/10 x
Nice venue, air con was pumped up to high so everybody in the restaurant had coats on. Food is good - was better the first time around but good, simple menu but good value.
Great Soho spot. Not for those who want a quiet dinner out! Vibes aplenty.
Food was okay. Was very overpriced for the serving size, and service was only okay.
Got our food before our drinks and it was tiny for the price.
Food was good, but the service was very slow. There were only 3 waiters for the whole restaurant and they just couldn’t take care of everybody.
There was live music and the band was good, but it was far too loud - we had to shout to have a conversation.
The live music was too loud, the male waiter had attitude
A Good place to eat fill your stomach, before a night out.
Went for late lunch , food was good , quietish time of day
Food was very average and overpriced. Bit disappointed.
The guacamole portion in the Guacamole de la Bodega was tasty but very small and bulked out by mostly chips. The sea bass ceviche was very (nearly too) salty. The taquiza was generally nice but the tacos felt quite bready. The tomatoes in the Roma Tomato Salad were very under-ripe. The warm sweetcorn salad was good: the corn had a good bite and was a little but not too (spicy) hot.
The music was good and not too loud to drown out our conversation, and the general ambience was very pleasant. The service was friendly and efficient; our evening meal for two with a drink each was turned around within 75 mins.
We had a great time, the food was delicious and staff were very attentive and friendly!
The service was good and I liked the latino music. However, the food was not great and the music was a bit too loud so it was hard to have a conversation.
Just an amazing ambience with wonderful servers.
