La Bodega Negra - Restaurant
Fabulous venue and atmosphere, the place had a great buzz and me and my girl friends had an amazing night. Didn’t feel rushed and they happily left us to get on with our evening
The server was nice, the place was very nice, the food was really (really) delightful... At least for the starters. The music was SO loud, like in a nightclub, that we could not stay any longer to enjoy the food any more... I will recommand it, but DO NOT expect to have a real tchat with the person you come with.
The 'secret' entrance was great fun, and certainly added an element of excitement! All the staff were super lovely and attentive, we felt very well catered to! The food was the real star of the show though. Everything we had was absolutely gorgeous! I would probably recommend the Tuna Tostada, but I'm definitely going to go back for tacos here again because they were so good, and could see myself going for drinks here instead of another local bar just so we could get a queso fundido on the side. (a mouthwateringly good cheese and chorizo fondu). Also the drinks were great!
Amazing service, food and drinks. We will come back for sure.
Different restaurant with great atmosphere although since the music is a bit loud (bar) it makes it a bit hard to chat to more than 1 person. Food was good but a bit expensive for the quantity and quality.
1 taco order is 2 small tacos so would would need to order 2 plates again good but not the best place if you are hungry. Also great choose of tequila but the shot (50ml) is quite expensive £8.5 the cheapest but then you get a full margarita for £9 so not much logic.
Very cosy atmosphere, great location... lovely food but a small menu, the tequila menu though was stunning
Great fun venue, lovely staff and delicious food. The music was a little too loud though!
Super overpriced and small portions but tasty food and drinks
Interesting and fun setting, but nothing else matched up. Over-priced cocktails and a very mediocre food offering. Ceviche which was basically slices of raw fish drizzled with overly sweet mango sauce. Nothing like any ceviche we’ve ever had. Tacos also not great. Expensive for what they were. The pork belly was basically one large piece of gristly fat. Inedible. Waiter was attentive and did take it off the bill. However, we left underwhelmed.
There are much better, and more reasonable, Mexican restaurants in London. Go for drinks and a fun venue, just don’t expect much from the food.
Heard great things about here and wasn’t disappointed - Food here was incredible, cocktails were great, setting was cool. Would recommend !
Service was excellent (at both the bar and restaurant), food great as always (especially the tacos) and awesome vibe.
Great night as always, amazing food and very friendly waiter, good humour added to our evening
amazing food!! great fun atmosphere, will definitely be back
Great date venue, somewhere a little bit different, but still cosy and lively at the same time!
Excellent night out. Really cool place with an excellent vibe.
Good food. Really enjoyed the evening.
Bit too noisy but I appreciate that it was a Saturday night and it is that kind of place!
I like a good dance and loud music but not the volume we had during our dinner. I lost the will to talk half way through the meal.
Waiter was pleasant but didn’t wait to take my order for a drink - just my boyfriend’s! Did not explain how the menu works and finally when pressed, advised us.
There was no desert menu and to be honest, the food we had was very average and overpriced for what it was. I would say, save £100 and go somewhere else for dinner not here.
Overpriced, the food was okay but not worth the price we payed for it and the place wasn't as nice as it looks online
Great service and cool atmosphere. Tacos are made with quality ingredient and quite tasty. Big downer is that food is way to pricey for what you get. Be ready to spend £100 or more and still feel hungry.
Portions rather small but tasty food
Worth a visit
Food great. Service great. Just unaware that half the place is a bit like a club. Music too loud and impossible to move around as so many people all stood around the bar. The only downside to what was a really cool restaurant
The food was delicious however my boyfriend and I arrived at 6pm (we could only get a table at this time) and we were finished by 6:45. The food came out way too quickly and we couldn’t really enjoy it despite the bill being over £90. We also got dip, starter and main course so would of expected longer in there.
Amazing Mexican food best I’ve ever had and great attentive staff.
Had 4 vegetarian options. All quite bland and used the same ingredients in 2 of them. Terribly overpriced. Waitress was wonderful and we received a great complementary dessert though. Also wonderful selection of tequila.
Great food and fun cocktails
Food and service was excellent! Only slight complaint was value for money. As having a Mexican family who own a Mexican restaurant, I know how cheap it is to make/prepare. Although I appreciate it is in central London. Stil, I would highly recommend to anyone.
Un sitio totalmente recomandable pero la musica esta muy alta.
Very disappointing. Food was average at best. Service ok. Drinks ok and expensive.
The atmosphere and the restaurant itself is nice, but food wasn't great and the waitress that was serving us was quite rude and kept saying that we will have to leave the table soon.
maybe the only bad feeling, is that it is too much noisy.
Fun restaurant with good food and cocktails. Pretty loud though!
Good food, quick service st a reasonable price. Had a few of the tacos that were great some where a bit bland
A perfect place for a date. Sensual, fun, perfectly lit. The food was good though not mind-blowing (though the crab tacos were quite creative)! We didn't mind: the cocktails were perfect and the tunes were exceptionally chosen. The service at the restaurant was a little slow but still that was fine because the place was enjoyable and the vibe relaxed. Have already recommended it to friends!
If you're looking for a great mexican restaurant there are much better places in terms of choice on menu. If you're looking for crazy loud places to eat there are much better places with better music. If you're just looking for novelty experiences in london La Bodega Negra will fit the bill but only if you dont mind paying a little extra for it and can handle hardcore techno at full blast . Surprising the staff are friendly and patient under the stress of a constant banging baseline.
It was a nice evening, I think the waiter was too busy so waiting for things like more water, the bottle of wine we ordered took far too long.
There was also a table of girls nearby who were incredibly drunk and loud, understandably Pride was on but at the same time these girls were allowed to ruin everybody else’s meal by shouting songs.
Food was nice but I was incredibly underwhelmed at the end
Over priced, tiny portions with not much flavour. Pretty inauthentic food however service and atmosphere where good
Food not great and overpriced! Atmosphere was nice and staff were reasonably friendly. Good came out quickly, but the quality was not great, especially for the steep prices.
