La Bodega Negra - Restaurant
Great food and setting, and lively atmosphere. Highly recommend.
the entrance is fantastic. it's a pitty that the quality of food isn't at the same level of the atmospehere. For example: The fried pork belly tasted the same as the fried crab...
Improve on the food quality and this is a must go
The decor was brilliant but not as much
Lovely Staff and Fun Idea. Food was tasty yet Luke-warm. Would recommend. We went on a Sunday evening and were a little disappointed there wasn't anything theatrical. For that reason we felt it was a little expensive as you come for the experience. Still enjoyed our evening just not what we expected.
Really attentive service even though our waitor seemed a little overwhelmed his energy was 10/10. The food was tasty and the environment was lively.
Great service and atmosphere!
Insane food, hot & cool staff, good food and great vibes!
Such a friendly greeting on our arrival. We loved the entrance leading down into the basement. Again we had been greeted by the amazing staff who could not have done enough for us. Food came quickly and it looked amazing. We chatted until late in the evening, as it was such a nice comfortable, and also amazing place to dine. Thanks so much!
Love this place
Great food, great service, great location
Nice for a dinner before a night out .
It’s quite noisy.
The food is really tasteful !
Incredible food with an amazingly friendly staff. Definitely will be back
Possibly the best meal out I have ever had. The lamb shoulder was divine and they went out of their way to make my partners birthday special.
Muy divertido. Comida correcta y servicios súper amable y sinpatico. Música genail, con una dj fantastica. Muy recomendable
Great place, great food, a hidden gem in soho, eat before 10 as it gets very busy with cocktail lovers late on
Food was average, 15% service charge was over the top.
Absolutely amazing dinner - highly recommend for big groups, best margaritas!
Great food and great atmosphere. Loud table next to us but other than that it was a perfect evening.
Quick service, and good cocktails. We started with the guacamole which was delicious. We opted for the Lamb to share but it was a really large portion for 2 people, and there wasn't enough tortillas and sides (salsa, sour cream etc) to accommodate the volume of meat (only 3 small tortillas each)...so we were eating just lot of lamb on it's own. It was a bit underwhelming, which was a shame as I'd been for cocktails before and loved the vibe. Not sure I would recommend for food.
Servicio excelente, musica buenisima. Un ambiente perfecto para un sabado por la noche prefiesta.
Quirky hidden restaurant, great vibe but slow with drinks order in beginning. Did provide first round free due to this though. Staff really friendly
For ambience it’s a great place to go. Food is average and considering it’s Mexican not spicy at all. Service and ambience great, food not so much.
Food and drinks not the best, not that authentically Mexican, and not that appetising. Very expensive for the size of the portions and the quality of the food. A 15% surcharge is ridiculous and was the final straw.
It's so expensive, that's the only reason I wouldn't go back. Portion sizes are absolutely tiny too, despite ordering 3 things (1 didn't even arrived, I ate the other 2 and had to ask them because they forgot about it!) I left not feeling full at all. Increase portion sizes or drop the price, it was good for a one time night though! Fun and good atmosphere for food and drinks for 2.... (£120 bill)
We waited an hour and 40 minutes before any food arrived, we were there for a birthday and it totally killed the vibe. The waitress was great and very apologetic but the food wasn’t even good when it came. Not great.
Interesting and quirky .. cloakroom person very helpful. Food good and different .
We loved the entrance of the restaurant! The menu was small and a bit expensive for the portion sizes but the whole ambiance and service were great! I would definitely come back.
Atmosphere was great, as was the service. Starters and shares were lovely although both main meals were disappointing. The pork belly was extremely chewy and burnt to say the least. Although both main meals had mostly been left not much was said by our time waitress. I’d return for drinks but food is overrated and you can get better elsewhere
Nice atmosphere, the type of bar/restaurant where you can have a good night out. Food was mediocre, have had much better mexican food but you would go here for the experience, not food.
Second visit - great night out.....
It’s a must do if you want to blow of some steam...
A great hidden spot with a central location. The food wasn’t the best but the lively vibe and drinks are worth the visit.
A bit on the pricey side but fab cocktails, lovely ambience if you get there early. Portions weren't massive for the price but we left feeling satisfied! The starter special (crab on a crispy tostada) was the highlight, along with the tastiest sweet potato fries I've ever had.
Without warning we were kicked off our table before we had finished. Otherwise a lovely evening.
The food was quite tasty, small manageable portions. Very expensive for what it was. They advertised live Cuban music but played very loud rock and pop music the whole night.
Fantastic service in a wonderful restaurant with an electric atmosphere. A great evening had by all
Amazing tasty food, great atmosphere and the best service I have experienced so far! This is a hidden gem! Will definitely come back!!
Always a pleasure. You can rely on the ambiance, food and service without fail.
Our server was fantastic. Our original table was slightly to load due to my partner recently having a throat operation, but staff were able to relocate us without any issue even though they were busy.
Very average food ... service was decent but table in the side room lacked ambiance a bit. Not expensive though. Overall I would not hurry back given the hundreds of better places around.
Great atmosphere and wonderful service. Food very tasty but bit on expensive side
