Beautiful fresh and flavoursome good and just a bit different. We will return. Best restaurant in Tenterden
We came there for my partners birthday. The two salmon pasta dishes were very poor. Undercooked dry and tiny slithers of salmon. Very disappointing and quite upsetting for my partners birthday.
It was our first time dining here and we were made very welcome. The food was exceptional with a delightful menu. Definitely not to be missed.
A real Italien Evening in Tenderden. Excellent food, host and chef!
We were the first customers for the evening, yet even ordering drinks took some effort, as if we were an inconvenience. The food was ok but we had to wait ages for our main meal while others who arrived later were being served. A shame that the poor service would deter us from returning or recommending this restaurant.
I booked to eat at 22:00 last Friday as we were going somewhere else before. I received a phone call to say last bookings were 21:00 and a mistake had been made on the booking website. I explained that it was my husbands birthday and they agreed to honour the booking.
On top of that they presented my husband with a happy birthday plate of sweet treats.
The food was fabulous as was the service and friendliness.
We went for a joint anniversary dinner and we’ve never paid so much for 4 people to have dinner. £19.50 for a tiny steak and some rocket!?!? The prices were extremely high for the quality and amount of food you got. However the food we did have was nice, but we left feeling hungry (never good!). Service was good, but we won’t be going back.
Lovely establishment and very friendly staff. I took my mum here for her birthday. The staff were very professional and also brought over a happy birthday dish for her at the end of our meal. Thank you!
The food was really nice, however I'd say a bit too much garlic in the main.
I would definitely visit again :)
Excellent as usual, exciting new menu. Dont know why it isn't busier as it deserves to be successful.
The food is always well presented and full of flavour. Relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend.
Excellent lunch with friends. Lovely service, good food and wine. Could do with a little more choice for veggies.
the Italian way: simple, fresh ingredients full of flavour. A lovely meal!
One of the best Italian restaurants in Kent. Delicious food made with fantastic ingredients. Great service too!
Great real Italian food. Fabulous service and very relaxed atmosphere . Small and intimate restaurant with a small menu but all the dishes are authentic and delicious !
Only have had lunch there a few times. Cannot comment on evenings.
Delicious authentic food. Set lunch menu was perfect - sensible portions, beautiful presentation and tasted great.
We did not check the menu before booking, mistake!! The menu is limited and my wife was having difficulty finding anything she would have expected from an Italian restaurant. The olives were probably the worst I have ever tasted definitely well past their best, all soggy, need to throw the whole batch away!!! The breadsticks were the cheapest quality and had no real taste. The starter of burrata was the most bland taste, thank heavens for the sun-dried tomato accompanying it. The main course arrived and we were not offered black pepper or parmesan. My tagliatelle di mare was fine except the tagliatelle was served as a pile with the seafood poured on top. I'm afraid the nouvelle cuisine style of piling food high does not work with pasta. If it had not been for the very good waiting staff this would have been rated my worst meal ever. Needless to say, we won't be back.
Brilliant Italian food. Micky and I were on holiday in Kent and had no idea where to go, but knew we fancied Italian, and were SO pleasantly surprised when we found this place. Excellent Italian food and wine, cooked and served by a nice Italian couple, whose names escape me for the moment, as we also drank a delicious Chianti and finished with Amaretto and Amaro. Would definitely recommend if you like authentic Italian food rather than naff chain stuff.
Absolutely delicious food as always. This restaurant is a little gem on the High Street.
Haven't had the opportunity to visit Tenterden until recently and this was a refreshing addition to the normal high street stuff. We had an early supper (pre-theatre) so can't comment on the ambience as it was quite quiet, but we were very impressed with the young and attentive waiter, his knowledge of the food and wine and we were not disappointed with either. Great menu, authentic and different to your usual Italian restaurants, so would definitely recommend.
Our second visit, lovely food (I'm vegetarian, husband is not), lovely staff, I had a very nice Mojito and its well priced. It makes us want to go back to Italy.
My only tiny issue was that on a very, very hot evening those plastic chairs are a bit uncomfortable. They look nice, but wooden ones might be better! We will be back, thanks for a lovely evening.
After a lovely welcome we were expecting a fab experience. Unfortunately the restaurant was not busy and as a consequence the service suffered. The staff were in their iPhones and we had to get up from our table to order coffees. One dish was not hot and when it was replaced it was half the size it had been. It had potential to be great but not there yet!
Stefania presides over a delightful small family-run restaurant. It is the genuine Italian neighbourhood restaurant and we have never had a poor meal here. The wine list includes well-priced wines from Sicily and Sardinia, and portions are well-judged from a short but balanced menu. Service is friendly and attentive. PerM
We enjoyed a very good lunch on our first visit. Although the restaurant is small one did not feel hemmed in although the restaurant was not busy. Food was carefully prepared and arrived looking fresh and was very tasty. The husband and wife team deserve to be supported and we shall certainly return.
Really enjoyed our meal. House wine is very good value
This restaurant serves very good food in a nice atmosphere. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. It is a lovely place for lunch with friends, convenient and I would thoroughly recommend it to others
Beautiful food, really friendly service, nice comfortable surroundings and happy atmosphere. The wine was excellent. All in all a lovely dining experience (lunch) and good value for money.
We were welcomed warmly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable. I look to forward to returning again soon.
Disappointing, very small menu and little variation and a high price for two. Was expecting more of a small Italian bistro situation,
A delicious meal of freshly cooked food served to us by engaging and helpful staff. Well worth a visit!
1st rate as ever.My friends & I have used this as a get together lunch space for over a year We are always delighted with the quality, appearance & variety of authentic Italian food. Attentive service & very helpful to people with allergies as well as good disabled access.
Everything was lovely but my main was lukewarm which was disappointing cos it tasted lovely
Good freshly cooked food. However, it was a shame that the gratis starter (part of Valentine's Offer) was not available as a vegetarian option (vegetarians do not eat fish!). Nice friendly atmosphere and a nice touch with the Valentine cup cake to finish.
Very enjoyable, delighted the set menu was available on Thursday evening.
Upon arrival, I immediately loved that atmosphere with tables around half full. Nice buzz.
However, the kitchen burnt the food and had to open the front door to air the room (as all open plan and not appeared to have an extractor fan (open plan which I don't particularly like) and it was a pretty cold and wet Friday so didn't appreciate that.
Chicken Milanese was overcooked from the fixed lunch menu but my baked camembert was very delicious.
Muck up over the tea and a very long wait for the right one to turn up.
I'd go back though - a pleasant change from pubs and chains.
Great and original food in a small and welcoming local restaurant
My first visit having been recommended by a local friend. The food was excellent and very good value for the money. We were served by a very friendly person. This was an excellent venue as we three friends live in different places-Tonbridge, Speldhurst and Aldington.
We will definitely meet there again.
We visited on a Saturday lunchtime. All 8 tables were occupied but there was only one waiter. Service was dreadfully slow and the kitchen also seemed unable to produce food promptly. The food itself was distinctly mediocre - the lasagne had been made several hours before being served and the liquid tiramisu was unpleasant. To cap it all we were told when given the bill that the card machine was not working and we had to pay cash. Fortunately we were carrying sufficient cash - but other diners had to visit the local cash machine. There are much better choices in Tenterden - avoid this one.
We have been on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the food. We had first class attention from the owner yesterday evening.
Always excellent authentic Italian food.
New waiter/maitre d' /barista (Davide) a fabulous addition.
Would like a mix up of the menu again though.
