Chocolate Mousse Red Coulis Sauce
We ordered from the three course meal menu and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, just the right amount of attentiveness to allow us to talk and enjoy our meal. I plan to go back again as soon as possible.
It has a wonderful French cafe feel and ambience.
Everything we ordered was excellent Pate, escargot, bouillabaisse, beef bourguignon, lamb chops and deserts. Also, even though they were busy and short staff, service was excellent. Very warm and cozy little restaurant with a country French theme.
I've had consistently wonderful dining experiences at La Côte d’Or. On my recent visit, I had lunch with a friend. Our food was delicious, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, the seasonings were perfection, and it was beautifully presented. We sat in the sun room which was light, airy, and perfect for lunch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very professional. Over the years, I've enjoyed lunch, brunch, dinner, and the Chef's tasting menu–each experience was perfect. I highly recommend La Côte d’Or.
Great service well prepared food with healthy portions. Prix Fixe menu is outstanding
We had a lovely lunch here. The staff are great and food always good. We love it because the tables are spaced out so that you can have a conversation without having to worry about the noise level.
Wonderful way to celebrate wedding anniversary
Always a solid night out - which was nice after over a year of just eating at home. The 3-course menu was a great value, the food was delicious, and the service was spot on. This restaurant is always a go to for our special nights out and it didn't disappoint.
Another good meal at LCD. Comfortable setting with fine service.
The food did not disappoint. The three course special was an incredible value. Cocktails were the only disappointment. Next we’ll just order a bottle of wine! Decent wine list.
We were in the area and looking for some escargot. It was excellent, as was the rest of the food and service. We will definitely revisit. Peppercorn steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Desserts were fantastic.
The chef’s 5 course prix fixe apple dinner highlighted tome amazing French cuisine -fabulous combinations to include apples in each course. Chef gave a talk before each course which was both informative and funny. The service was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. The patio room is so nice. Wonderful dining experience!
The staff were wonderful - warm and attentive. The food was very heavy and a bit old-fashined for a French restaurant. Overall it was fine.
Date w wife. Everything was good except the bread pudding dessert. That was lacking.
Nice dinner- decent house wine but wished the brand was listed.
The acoustics of Côte D'Or's narrow terrace room make that room unfriendly for those of us who wear hearing aids. The glass and other surfaces in the room reflect sound very efficiently, creating a loud background babble. This constant noise makes it very difficult for hearing-impaired elders to hear their dining companions. For the young, a loud indoor babble creates "energy" that translates into increased beverage sales in bars. But for those of us who want to talk to our friends and family over a nice meal in a peaceful environment, it can ruin our dining experience. Fortunately, there is an easy remedy: Offer a "quiet seating" option for those making reservations, and seat those customers in the quiet main room.
We had not been to this wonderful little French restaurant for quite awhile because of the pandemic. It had been a family favorite before and after our experience last night it will remain so. One of our favorite servers warmly greeted us, his service was impeccable and our food was excellent. We'll be back, hopefully more often if the pandemic subsides.
Wonderful evening at an establishment we have enjoyed going to for years! Pleasant and friendly service and the food was wonderful!
We had a fabulous evening, it could not have been better. The French onion soup was comparable to the best we have eaten in France or other highly rated restaurants. We could have made a meal on it
The beef burgundy was also noteworthy, melted in your mouth, and rich.
We also discovered they have Fresh cod fish and chips special on Wednesdays! We can’t wait to try.
We highly recommend it. It’s in our neighborhood and so close. We don’t have to drive to DC… and it’s better!
We had not been back since the pandemic started and loved every minute. The ambiance, service and food were just as we remembered. We look forward to returning soon!
A great neighborhood restaurant. Consistently well executed and the best place Dover Sole around. Reasonably priced, good portions, and attentive service.
Everyone is doing their best during these difficult times. Friendly and attentive service, nice variety on the menu.
We had a lovely dinner and very helpful servers. The ambience was nice and the food was very good. The waiter matched a lovely red wine to pair with our dinner selections.
Excellent menu with wide range of offerings, well-prepared dishes, pleasant atmosphere ideal for dining with friends and family
Restaurant is dependably good and the service is prompt and courteous. I have gone there before and never been disappointed.
They were so helpful. They saw me approaching using a walker and directed me to the side entrance, which had a ramp. They also let us sit in that section even though it was empty and didn't need to be used, so we could hear one another with ease.
My only issue is that I wish the waiter had warned me that the escargots were very salty, especially as I had said I needed to avoid salt as much as possible.
Otherwise, the food was delicious and the three of us were very happy with our meals. I especially enjoyed the floating island dessert, which I'd never had before, a large baked hunk of meringue floating in a liquid tasting of coconut, toped by carmalized sugar (think the top of a creme brulee) toped with a bit of whipped cream and blueberries.
We were there for restaurant week so there was a choice of either the $35 or $55 3 course menu. This was a mixed experience and not as good as I was expecting from a supposedly French bistro. The onion tart and the crab were both very good and the frogs legs were fine. I was disappointed in the trout which had little flavor; couldn't taste butter, lemon or garlic. The cinnamon bread pudding was just so so, but the chocolate mousse was good. We were not offered a wine list because my husband chose the special martini and I said I'd have a glass of wine: so choice was Chardonnay, pinot grigio, or sauvignon blanc, no brand choice. The place was packed. I will give it another chance in the future.
Amazing food with generous portions! We also had an excellent and attentive waiter!
The floating was fabulous! The French onion soup was the best We ever had. We would come again.
Every dish was just mediocre. Steaks were ordered rare but served medium, pasta very oily with no flavor. Staff was friendly, but service was very slow.
Overall the experience was delightful. My only complaints was related to the mussels in the bouillabaisee. The taste was off and they weren't very plump. Everything else was very good.
We came in for lunch (restaurant week), had a wonderful meal and plan to come back. This place has very tasty dishes, space to celebrate special occasions, have friends’ get-together and a date. We were very pleased with everything, and will be back.
Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely return
nice meal, friendly staff!
My mother and I tried it here for our Saturday lunch since it participated to the 2021 Summer Restaurant Week. It was near her workplace and it was a perfect brunch spot after we attended mass. We loved the ambiance and the food. The place was cozy and the parking was very convenient. We also loved the French food and the choices for the restaurant week's 3-course menu special. It was not that pricey too. We had a great experience and I hope we can come back.
I was disappointed in my dinner. The lamb was cooked to medium-well and requested medium rare. The profiteroles were over baked.
Great food an ambience! I would definitely eat here again
I can always count on this restaurant to provide the best food & service!!! I had the floating island for dessert & almost licked the bowl (but didn't). Be sure to try this little slice of France right off Rt.66 :-)
