During this scary pandemic it was great To go to our favorite neighborhood restaurant for dinner. They are limiting the number of people eating in so they can keep safe distances between tables. Plus, they are offering their full menu for carry out. The Weds night “mussel night@ was as good as ever! Support this fab restaurant however you can!
Nine family members met for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday; all were pleased. The menu offers both multiple lunch and breakfast items; everything was very good: mimosas, bloody Marys, rainbow trout, omelette, eggs Benedict, mussels, deviled eggs, Caesar salad with anchovy dressing (!), et al. With current conditions, we were seated well separated from other tables but service was excellent. La Cote D'Or has been here for several years and this most recent visit explains it well-deserved life!
We previously dined at the Cote d'Or, and were not disappointed during this return visit. They even threw in a free birthday dessert.
Perfect place to celebrate my birthday.
We dine at La Cote d'Or as often as possible, and last night we had a takeout dinner from there (because of the pandemic). It was beautifully prepared and packaged, and everything was delicious. Jacques and his crew do superb work. Of course we would rather be able to sit in the charming restaurant and be helped by the excellent wait staff, but we enjoyed the trout and salmon dishes in our own dining room this time. We're hoping that others will support La Cote d'Or during the stay-at-home period by placing orders for delivery or pickup. We want this lovely place to be around after the pandemic is over.
Serving size was generous and the food was excellent.
Staff was very attendant.
The food was excellent and the ambience delightful.
Lovely meal with a friend, the food was delicious.
Wonderful quiche. Very nice neighborhood restaurant. Staff is excellent.
We went here for a relative’s 85th birthday. The service and food are top notch. The sunroom is quiet and bright.
Great food and experience. A hidden gem. Do not hesitate to go.
Nice as always. Pecan crusted trout was sublime.
We had the special Mardi Gras menu, not the normal fare.
We went for the special Mardi Gras menu. Everything on the menu was delicious, and the service, as always, was courteous and attentive. We especially liked the salad appetizer with andouille sausage, Edam cheese and dried tomatoes, and the jambalaya.
Great spot for Brunch. There were six of us and everyone enjoyed the egg dishes and French toast. My husband ordered to steak with frites and he said the peppercorn sauce was excellent.
your chef has some interesting and new ways to present old favorites. They were a surprise and easily imbibed. With relish. Will be back again. And again
When making a reservation, diners should be notified that they will be placed in what appeared to be an enclosed porch area with no decor, drafty. The main dining area was full. We were about to leave and asked about an open table in the bar area. Turns out it was free but had not been offered to us.
Great service and delicious food. Try any of the soups on appetizer menu. Don’t forget the Floating Island for dessert. A treat to have on the menu.A place you can have a conversation with dining partners and not have to raise your voice.
Friendly and attentive service. The Beef Bourguignon and Chocolate Mousse was excellent, however, everything else I tried was average to bad. The Escargot and Bouillabaisse was the worst I’ve had and the Creme Brulee was almost like scrambled eggs.
Great service Great Food
Reservation not available on Valentine's but easy reservation for Sun after. No parking available in adjacent lot but found parking up the street. Warm welcome, pleasant seating in side streetview dining room. Excellent service, food, value. Definitely recommend.
We had a delicious prix fixe post-Valentine lunch on Sunday. The paté and soup appetizers were copious, and the leek and red pepper quiches were outstanding. A floating island and a crème caramel were a perfect finish to this lunch. The service was professional and efficient. We’re returning in early March!
First time diners here and the food and service was fantastic. We will definitely be making this a regular dinner spot.
The food and service at La Côte d’Or were, as always, excellent. The reason for my lower rating is due to a frustrating mixup between the restaurant and Open Table. The reservation was for Valentines Day, and, knowing that La Côte d’Or always has a delicious service on Valentines, we went online to reserve a table for that day. Open Table showed reservations available at 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00, and we chose to reserve 3:00. But the day before the reservation, the restaurant called to tell us that the kitchen would close at 3:00, and we needed to move our reservation to earlier. Which we did, but when we arrived, we discovered that the Valentines menu was only for the dinner time, and we would need to order off the regular lunch menu. Our lunch was quite good, but it was not “special.” We wish that either the restaurant or Open Table had thought to tell us about the hours for the Valentines menu or the fact that the special menu would also be served on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to Friday. Having prepared ourselves in expectation of a special occasion, we went home in some disappointment.
La Cote D'Or is a great restaurant for friends to dine comfortably and engage and protracted conversation. It was exactly what we were looking for on this outing. It's quiet, tables are nice spaced.
Jacques' La Cote D'Or is our favorite French Restaurant. We have followed him for the last 20 years in this his third establishment. You cannot beat his steaks, pom frites (best in the metro DC area), and wines (which are great values). You are safe to order anything off the menu--you will not be disappointed.
We like the ambiance and usually the noise level is very low which adds to the enjoyment of the culinary experience. I recommend you try the "Jacques" experience.
This place is lovely cute and small. We sat in the glass enclosed section on a freezing night. But the place was adequately warm. Bread was perfectly French. I had the lamb, which was very tough and not delicious at all.
Everything was great about this quiet, off the beaten track wonderful restaurant. Very authentic and yummy.
This was my first time dining at La cote D'Or and was it good! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Thank you!
