Very accommodating we were late. We all enjoyed our lunch and there was plenty of options. Beautiful interiors and friendly staff.
What a gem! It was amazing all around. A must hit in Dublin!
The staff were all friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely and we had a nice night overall. My portion of ravioli was very small (6 pieces) for €22 which was quite expensive considering my friends dishes were all quite big portions. But still lovely ravioli
We loved it but they rushed us off the table even though the place was pretty quiet, there were 4/5 empty tables
Thank you so much for your kind words relating to La Cucina - we are thrilled you enjoyed your time with us but we are sorry to hear that you felt you were rushed. Tables of 2 are allocated for 1.5 hours per table on premium demand nights - occasionally we have the flexibility to extend this time however, on a night such as valentines we would have to adhere to the guidelines. We apologise for any inconvenience with this and hope it will not deter you from returning in the future. Best, Alanna
Food came cold and little sauce on the pasta. That being said restaurant dealt with it very well and would go back to try again. Lovely restaurant
Dear Camcgc78, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to La Cucina. We are sorry to hear that there was some issues with the food presented to you which is needless to say reflected in your low scoring to us. However, we are pleased to hear you appreciated how we dealt with this from a customer service point of view and look forward to hopefully welcoming you back again soon, Warm Regards, Alanna Feeney, Manager, La Cucina
Food was average, staff really good!
Unfortunately we ere rushing to the theatre and did not get the full value for our visit.
Service good. Staff friendly and welcoming.
We only had 2 courses... pizza Okay. Small and v thick base.
Lighting was a bit dim to read the menu
Overall v good and we will return
Our experience at the cucina has been very poor. First, the service was extremely pushy. We had a booking for 8h15 pm on a Saturday evening and were asked to leave about 1h later while the service condition mentioned that our table would be booked for 1h30. Second, our mains were rushed into our table not even 5 mins after we ordered them and arrived cold, while our desserts portion (tiramisu) were ridiculously small. On top of that, we got mandatory 12.5% service charge added to our bill as we experienced the pleasure of getting rushed through the end of our bottle of wine..... In short, we won’t come back.
Alana & Paddy...a pair of Superstars out the front on the floor with a magical Team in the Kitchen. Authentic grotto-type Italian ambience, wonderful food and wine. What a spot!
Great food, ambiance, and great experience! Overall very impressed!
First time visit , and the staff were excellent along with the food
Alana and Paddy were fantastic hosts and ensured a wonderful night had by all. Terrific location, ambience and service. Magic Dingle G&T! On my favourite List!
Restaurant was closed when I showed up - couldn’t get in, was never seated so I don’t know why I got an email saying I was. I called and it went straight to voicemail with no details of opening hours to even explain. Really disappointed because I was meeting a friend while on vacation from Hong Kong. Would not recommend restaurant to anyone.
Our restaurant had to close for emergency maintenance on a vent unit in our kitchen. All reservations for the Sunday were notified on Saturday (bar one) as we could not get through to you as the mobile number assigned to your booking from your web reservation was incorrect. Unfortunately we had no alternative method of contacting you. We hope this clarifies the matter for you & apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Good overall food options limited but quality good
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Totally recommend this place!
The food was delicious, the ambiance was absolutely lovely. The only minor thing was that we brought our two kids and there are no real options for the kids to eat, but they ended up splitting the risotto and we’re very happy! They had a limited menu because of Christmas and while everything was really good, we found it to be a bit pricey for what we got. Definitely our most expensive meal in Dublin even though we only got one course and shared a bottle of wine. Still, a memorable and enjoyable evening in a venue with lots of personality.
Very warm in the restaurant
Wonderful meal on Christmas Eve, particularly liked the concept of trying different starters. Main-course of seafood linguine was excellent. The service was very good and it was a lovely dining experience.
Food was amazing !! Six people having dinner and we all thou roughly enjoyed our food. The service was amazing!
I have been in the place before and had a great time. I went there on Thursday and I was shock how tasteless and simple was the food considering the price. From starter to dessert, disappointment over disappointment.
Hi Luis, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent trip to La Cucina. We are sorry to hear that despite our 5 star service and winning ambiance that you felt it necessary to award us only 1 star. We always strive to wrong the right on any given night and wish you had told us of your displeasure with the food at the time which we would have changed immediately. We hope this will not deter you from giving us a chance again in the future. Best, Alanna Feeney, Restaurant Manager La Cucina
Really great food and wonderful service
Ridiculous table with cutlery drawer behind table so waiters had to lean across to get cutlery for other tables.
Over priced, €22, mediocre pasta.
Nowhere to hang coats. Get a coat rack!
Three different people asked if we were ready to order in the space of 2 minutes. Confusion.
Management came across as arrogant.
Setting is somewhat romantic.
So to sum up... a rip off, badly run, sloppily managed, confused service, poor food, charming restaurant!
Stay the f@#K away!!
Nice atmospheric setting.Waiting staff were friendly and professional.
Menu was quite limited under the guise of "Christmas Menu".
Starters were fine. One main course -fish- was quite skimpy and represented very poor value for money
Asked to pay bill and leave the table at 8.50pm when 2hr reservation wasn’t up until 9.15pm - really poor management.
Your reservation was for 7:15pm - of which you arrived nearly 20 minutes late. We outlined to you upon arrival that tables for 2 are only assigned for 1 hour 45mins and that given that you were late, we would still require the table back in advance of another sitting at 9pm. You agreed & stated once the food was served in time you would leave. You dined off a 3 course meal & refused to leave. Nonetheless, delighted you enjoyed our food. Wishing you & yours a Merry Christmas from all the team.
Nice, good food but very small portions and due to that the prices are way to high.
Some of the staff (just our waiter) was arrogant but the restaurant is very cozy and nice.
I went with my daughter and we loved it. On the third night of our weekend in Dublin and having eaten pizza and Thai on our first two nights, this was to be our 'treat' and it didn't disappoint.
We chose a shared dish of salted almonds as our starter and we both had the lamb rack for our main course. What we particularly liked was the fact that the lamb was beautifully cooked, medium rare, served with lovely roasted new potatoes and kale, and the portion was just right. A couple of glasses of Primitivo each to accompany and coffee afterwards and it was just over 30 euros a head, so not cheap but good value for lovely food, nicely served in really atmospheric surroundings.
Absolutly great evening. Food, wine and service perfect!.
Booked dinner @ La Cucina for a treat for myself and the other half (Friday 29th Nov), and I *so* wanted to love it.
Beautiful, atmospheric setting, with romantic low lighting and a relaxed atmosphere set. Front of House staff were lovely - warm and welcoming.
Wait staff were excellent from the beginning. Our wine order was promptly taken once we were seated, as were our food orders.
Starters were beautiful, particularly the prawns. We had high expectations for the mains - 2 8oz fillets, requested "rare".
Unfortunately, the fillets arrived cooked medium at best. While the meat was of superb quality, the over-cooking spoiled the experience completely. The roasted herb baby potatoes were very tasty, but again somewhat ruined when we realised that a couple of under-cooked potatoes had made their way into the meal. Tenderstem broccoli was fantastic: flavoursome and cooked to perfection.
I understand that we could have mentioned the over-cooked meat at the time, but we were pushed for time and we were extremely hungry. La Cucina also seemed to be exceptionally busy that night, as waiters were constantly running back and forth between the restaurant and Farrier&Draper with what looked like party food. We didn't want to make a big deal out of the situation and cause hassle for the staff.
However - we did feel that for €32.00 per fillet, we were well within our rights to expect a properly cooked steak of a very high standard.
Dessert was Bailey's cheesecake. What arrived (eventually) was a hard mass of flavourless...something. I suspect there were issues on the night with the cheesecake, and our waiter very graciously removed it from the menu without promoting.
Overall, we were very dissapointed with our experience. We were geared up for a lovely meal and had been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks. I stress again that this was a massive treat for us, and we rarely get out for dinner, as we rarely have the money to do so. I can't say I will return :-(
Excellent food and a lovely setting. Service was very professional.
Really lovely atmosphere and vibe for our anniversary dinner. Food was amazing, especially the Sea Bream special. Highly recommended.
Great early bird menu. Lovely ambiance. Excellent service
Superb from start to finish. A warm welcome, efficient and friendly service, sublime food, we had a really terrific evening and will be returning soon
Great setting and great bar above for a pre dinner drink. Felt a little early for Christmas music though! However we really enjoyed our meal and the ambience and would return. Delicious burrata starter stands out
Very tasty food and friendly staff !!
I’d definitely recommend it to a friend.
Nice food ambiance excellent and service really good
We arrived 15 minutes early 19.45 and were told abruptly by the hostess we are too early and they are running 10 minutes late- no offer to sit at the bar and wait- First impression rather rude! The restaurant was chosen based on previous food reviews and it’s quirky design. We came back 20.10 and still we had to wait-this time for a few minutes. We decided on two starters, a risotto and sea bream as main courses as well a bottle of white wine for €45. Our starter of artisan bread was served immediately and the wine we ordered was warm and not chilled! The waiter offered to put in extra ice and apologised, that they don’t have any ‘Gavi’ chilled, but the ice cube will do the trick! we were left with just water , bread an warm wine. Ca 10 minutes later, another waiter came and ask us if he could open the wine and we complained that the wine is warm and the few ice cubes would not chill the wine quick enough. Having ordered a €45 bottle of white wine you would expect for this to be chilled. Another waitress appeared who was nice and apologised and offered us to choose a different chilled wine. we decided on a different option. our main courses were served: risotto and sea bream with a side salad. Both main courses were tasty and we enjoyed our food and wine. When we just finished our main course, we were offered dessert. we asked we need a bit of time to let the main course set and enjoy the wine. Ca 10 minutes later our waiter came back and apologised but he had to serve us the bill now! No offer if we are ready now for a dessert or coffee We still had 1/2 bottle of wine left and were asked to pay our bill! We complained we had to wait more than 10 minutes for our table on arrival, an expensive white wine served warm and not being able to finish the rest of the wine and asked to leave is simply rude! We’ve asked if we could at least finish our wine, but he left and put the bill on table! So we gulped down the wine in one go, paid and left after 1 hour!
It was good ! Food amazing and the service friendly!
Lovely cosy spot with excellent service and food. Wine list was superb too. Definitely our favorite Italian and dine out place in Dublin
Great hospitality of the staff here! We were welcomed very nicely and served very well.
The ambience is lovely and the only negative point for me is the overpriced price of wine - 9€ per glass. Food was good and well presented!
Food was very nice but not worth the price the lamb dish was cold when it came out as it was not on a plate but a board and the side of potatoes where not cooked through.
