This is a lovely Resteraunt with a friendly vibe. We came for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. The lamb and beef were both slightly rare and delicious. The vegetables too were perfectly cooked and included both roast and dauphinois potatoes. We were too full for a pud! The staff were lovely.

The food and service were excellent, as always, but we were very disturbed by a family sat across the aisle from us. They spent virtually the whole time on their mobile phones and completely ignored their children, It was a pair of very young twins who were no trouble at all but they also had a girl around 2 who was allowed to run around the restaurant and make lots of noise with her mobile device. I have nothing at all against parents taking the children with them, particularly for Sunday lunch but they should have regard for the other diners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch at La Flambe. The food and service is exceptional, they really do care about what they serve you. They even assisted with a special request outside of the regular menu for a slightly fussy 10 year old! If you try it, you wont be disappointed :)

Another lovely evening, this time we brought friends who had not been before. We all had quite different selections, and everyone enjoyed their choices. I really appreciate as a veggie having several interesting things on the menu. Lovely wine, wonderful and friendly service . Always a great evening

My wife and i have been going to La Flambe' for 16 years now,That in it's self says all that I need to,The setting is good,the food is excellent and the portions are generous,If I had to find a minor negative it would be that on this occasion the outside decorative lights were not switched on and the wife said there was no fresh flowers in the ladies toilets (apparently there is normally) and she said there was no hand cream or something like that which is normally there,she likes the little extra touches. From a Male perspective all was normal ! we have never had fresh flowers and hand cream (just hand soap) and the outside lights being off did not detract from my experience. Of course we shall be returning in time.

We have been visiting La Flambé for over 20 years, and every time is excellent. We love that it is still in the same family, with some of the same staff. La Flambé is without doubt our go to venue for celebrations!

Table booked for 1:00pm & we were congratulated for arriving on time. But we were not asked for our order until 1:45pm by which time we needed a 2nd bottle of Fleurie. Only 2 waiters on duty. Both excellent friendly & helpful. But the lamb shank & coq au vin out of stock by time we ordered. No years shown beside wines on list. Pate, mussels & rack of lamb delicious tender & tasty. Open log fire made whole dining room cosy. A great place could be exceptional if more waiting staff around, tho that assumes kitchen capacity ok

Seated and served quickly. Good choice for a Sunday .. always great to have other options than just a roast. Food was really really lovely with a good choice of veg. Personally I’d prefer not to be served the roast potatoes and dauphinois. We will be back.

I so want to give this 5-stars. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive, it was a great atmosphere and excellent drinks selection. The only qualm is that the quantity of food was actually quite intimidating! We had starters and due to the size, we either had to leave 1/2 of them or bail on most of the main. I had the most lovely brie parcels as a starter but there were 4, I only managed 2.5 and I had to take most of my main home... It sounds daft to complain about food quantity but to help the restaurant, the portions could be easily halved, and might encourage more to commit to three courses. There's something a bit carvery about this size portion. Less is more!

My partner and I have dined here several times over the past 12 months and the food has always been excellent and the staff attentive and welcoming. Good sized portions too unlike some other restaurants and there is a good choice of both food and drink. We will be returning and can highly recommend this as a great place for a special occasion.
