Excellent good and service
2nd visit in 2 months, that tells you everything!
Danno looked after us both occasions, friendly, knowledgeable & a great asset to La Goccia.
Food is fresh & great flavors. Ate outside both occasions - lunch & dinner, lovely ambience.
Would highly recommend & will visit again
The waitress forgot our pre-dinner cocktail. There was a 20 minute gap between the last two tapas dishes
One of the best places I have been to in London!
The ambience was good but there were 100's of rates running out which spoiled the whole experience of Fine dining. After paying so much, you have to sit and deal with 100's of small mices. This was really horrific. And the staff was so normal about it.
The food is delicious and so interesting as you can try several small dishes.
The service is excellent and the ambiance very nice.
It’s our second time and although it’s expensive it’s lovely for a special treat.
Fantastic food, great service- couldn’t have had a lovelier time
The food and cocktails were amazing, staff were attentive and the restaurant has an amazing atmosphere.
Outstanding. Knowledgeable waiter and fantastic food and surroundings.
Lovely setting, food was good and our waiter was very nice, helpful and polite.
The experience was slightly ruined by the person I assume was the manager coming to our table at 19.59 to tell us he would need the table back at 8pm. This meant if we wanted dessert or coffee we would have to move inside. We decided to ask for the bill and when the manager brought this over we asked to pay 50/50. He then informed us he couldn’t work that out so one of us would need to get our phones out to do this.
Fully accept you have a turnaround time on your tables but in your restaurant this was not long enough to have a full meal. We also felt the manager, if that’s who he was, would benefit from working on his table side manner.
Lovely covered outdoor seating area surrounded by greenery. Lovely Italian food served by delightful staff. Recommended to anyone wanting a chilled out time in this little oasis.
The aesthetic’s of the location, ambience and overall vibe… Absolutely stunning!
It is such a shame when a lovely place and great food is spoiled by poor service. La Goccia is in a lovely courtyard just off Covent Garden, the food is delicious and reasonably priced by our waiter was surly and inattentive.
A great restaurant makes you feel like they are pleased to see you, La Goccia acted like you should be grateful they let you in.
Beautiful setting with lively ambience. Food was excellent, we especially liked the squid and also the spaghetti with wild mushrooms. Our server was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.
Ambience ruined by senior staff arguing with waiter close to our table. Created an unpleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was very good though. Bill had charity donation automatically added and service charge of 13.5%. When asked manager told us it was usually for central London and some places charge 15%.
Nice restaurant. Outside is covered and it’s a nice vibe and atmosphere. Lucy on the door was super welcoming and helpful. Our only downside was the service we received from Richard - not sure why but we always felt like he was looking down on us and we were an inconvenience. Beyond that we had a very enjoyable evening.
Lovely atmosphere and staff here.
La Goccia is especially good at pasta and we didn’t feel the need to venture on to “mains” Desserts were divine too. The wine seems expensive but you pay for the location and outdoor eating experience .
I had a 12.30 table and arrived ten minutes early. My guest had not arrived at that stage. I believe the time allocation is one and a half hours per sitting. The lady on reception advised me that if I sat down then (12.20) that my time allocated would start immediately.
I would suggest they change that policy as it thoroughly irritated me in its small minded and bureaucratic attitude. Standing outside for ten minutes waiting for my guest did not kill me but the message was unpleasant.
A hidden jewel which provided a great setting for a pre-theatre lunch. The lovely waitress, Eva, took time to explain the menu and gave advice on how much to order
Birthday - absolutely lovely
I had booked for inside but the weather was quite nice, the young lady in front desk was just lovely, we sat in the bar area where another young lady took our drinks then table was ready, the waitress explained the dishes to us and best way to order, we loved it, if I have negative thing to say is the “donation put on the bill without asking” I would have done it but should have been asked ,
Wonderful food and great service. A little chilly in the air-con, we asked to move and a table was quickly found for us. I will definitely return.
Waiter was very pushy on us ordering stuff we weren’t interested in also getting a bottle of wine when we said we only wanted glasses, they then brought the wrong sizes out and mine came 10 minutes after my friends. They very obviously gave our food to the table next to us who ordered the same despite them arriving half an hour after us. Said we couldn’t have a table outside and then multiple people who walked in they very happily moved them onto a table outside. Food was good but won’t be returning again.
Wonderful service, ambiance and food. It was my birthday and they brought me a surprise dessert with a candle which was lovely!
We loved the food the atmosphere the service was perfect. But there was one thing. We heard so much about the restaurant and the food and we went there hoping to eat some of the best seller dishes but almost a lot of our option we choose they had to change because of containing alcohol in them so it would be nice to I have choices to do it without alcohol for muslims. Otherwise everything was perfect the rest of the food tasted amazing and the staff were so friendly that they did some stuff for us especially
Tasty food in a sheltered courtyard. Pleasant staff.
We loved the sustainable concept of the food and the interior filled with lush plants and stylish paintings. The food itslef was fairly simple but of such high quality. A simple hummus transformed into a whole experience. Really enjoyable. See you next time :)
Lovely food and drink, beautiful setting, excellent service.
Food very good but booked table over week before attending. Beautiful evening so outside tables all full - given table for 2 hidden away at end of run of tables and cramped by inside plants. Complained - after discussion gave us table more appropriate. Why weren't we given a decent table given our booking notice? Service good but plates not take away before courses (small plates) Had to request change. Why aren't toilets signposted that they are downstairs?? Busy and buzzy restaurant with good food but let themselves down on small points which wouldn't take much to improve.
Beautiful surroundings of greenery and with a continental feel to it.
Food was amazingly fresh and tasty.
I loved the sharing of small plates. It meant I got to try everything I wanted.
Definitely go back again.
My Wife and I visited the La Goccia for our Wedding Anniversary yesterday and had a fantastic experience... Staff were great , food was superb .
I am Gluten Intolerant and our server new about all the options and could even provide alternative Gluten Free Pasta not on the menu . Food came at a good speed , small plates with plenty of options , overall I would highly recommend .
Compliments to the chef. Loved the food and the atmosphere. Will surely go again.
Enjoyed the food a lot and it was very fresh ingredients - could tell from the taste. The portions were too small though which is the only negative about this restaurant
But deffo need to try at least once
Fell short on service. Dishes were fresh and nice, apart from the baby ‘boiled’ potatoes.
Absolutely amazing food. We had a brilliant evening at La Goccia. Would go again in a heartbeat.
We didn’t realise that this is a place which only serves cicchetti..and if you look the name up goccia translates to ‘drop’.
so yes lots of little side plates of food which are therefore overpriced.
You need 2-3 pp for a main course amount.they all came out at different times so we didn’t feel like we’d actually eaten together.the food itself was well cooked and good quality so no complaints there.
This was a special meal so we were disappointed.if you want a nice lunch then it’s fine or you like the casual tapas style meal, but if you want a special meal or ‘proper dinner’ then I can’t recommend.
Just to note the court where it’s based is beautiful and packed with foliage..you feel you could be abroad.
A hidden gem in a beautiful setting. The food was just delicious and the service professional and friendly. Tempted not to tell too many about it as I was very lucky to get a table. 😂
Very pretty outdoors or indoors spot for lunch in the heart of Covent Garden, yet in a sheltered spot behind the Floral Street shops. Nice concept for lunch of small, sharing plates. I think I'd be hungry if it was dinner. Good cocktail and mocktail list, friendly and attentive service. We ate burratta, grilled chicken and delicious lemon/ricotta ravioli. Only thing we didn't enjoy was the very flat, soggy foccacia - not really authentic at all.
Not our best visit. Extremely noisy, couldn’t hear each other speak. Menu not as interesting as past visits ( or maybe we just didn’t like the choices this time). Waiter was very helpful. But bad taste left in my mouth, yet again, by charity charge added to bill ( it is my own personal choice which charities I support), and by service charge of 13.5%, which I feel is excessive - again, personal choice should come into play.
We sat outside in the very lovely terrace space and were once again, very much looked after by the staff from arrival to departure. Some lovely dishes made for an enjoyable meal with an ambience that is tops.
Thanks again to Ana in Events who is without doubt one of Petersham's shinning stars.
