The food was incredible, you have to try the squash risotto. Also the drinks were half price and were amazing too. However, we arrived at 5:30 (15 minutes before our booking was) and within 10 minutes of sitting there they said the kitchen was about to close and the bar was too. This wasn’t said on the website and we felt very rushed, only able to have one drink. So, it was a great, vibrant restaurant - which meant we wanted to stay longer but we were rushed out.
My favourite local restaurant. The food is consistently good. The bottomless brunch on a Sunday if great value.
Staff could be more friendly and warm to really enhance the experience.
Brilliant location, good food, but the service is so poor that it forfeits its potential. Disappointing.
Lovely ambience. Starters were great but the pasta dishes we got were all abit dry and bland.
always wonderful food and wonderful service. always!
Food was great . I love this restaurant anyway, I have been here many times . The only thing is , the people who work there should be more attentive .
Another fab meal in this beautiful courtyard restaurant. It proved to be great spot to meet our friends as it's outdoors. It was a cool evening but thankfully La Goccia's outdoor heaters proved more than adequate. The service was friendly, professional and obliging as it has been in the past (thanks again Johan!). The Tapas-styled food was, as in the past, vibrant and delicious and remains reasonably priced. The wine menu is somewhat limited but caters well to most tastes and budgets. We will be back again for sure!
I enjoyed the ethos of the restaurant. The food was excellent quality and well made.
The service was a little slow and it was incredibly hard to attract the attention of anyone. It took me over 10 mins to get anyone to talk to me about my reservation. That said, it didn't ruin my experience and I would recommend dining here.
The anchovy and sage is recommended. Delicious.
Atmosphere, food and staff were lovely but I just wonder whether service could have been better for the price. Several times we were searching for someone to either order more plates or refill our glasses. I can't remember the last time I poured our own wine from the chiller at any restaurant.
Overall a lovely experience but perhaps a little complacent on the night.
I was worried before turning up that we wouldn’t be able to have a table outside as we were two households, but our table was available to us. We were celebrate a double birthday, and ended up getting the bottomless brunch - which we didn’t realise was available on the menu. The food was lovely and the service was very friendly and staff were happy to top up our bubbly! We were never rushed or told that our bottomless had finished which most other places would do.
Such a lovely restaurant.
Great to eat outside. Staff so kind and friendly .
This is my third visit and I will be coming back .
The best place I have been to in the last 9 months!
A beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and the service professional and on point. I would say that it is a little on the pricey side but the overall experience is very enjoyable and you are in the middle of Covent Garden in the most beautiful courtyard! The small plates are imaginative and very tasty. My pasta was a little bland, however my husbands Squash Risotto was delicious. We shared baby squid, anchovies and stage and some lovely Bresola to name a but a few of our small plates and they were all delicious. Really good Italian wine list and some very imaginative cocktails. I loved my Negroni! Overall a very lovely, leisurely lunch!
The staff went above and beyond and made the birthday celebrations extra special. Great night and vibe.
Poor service. Took 45 mins for the first place to come out and the rest of the meals coming at staggered times.
Behind the table was where they kept all the spare cutlery, cups and had the waiter constantly reaching over us to get to these.
When asked to be moved to a free and explained the reason, had a rude response.
The food was excellent. Truly first class food. But every time I ordered a glass of wine, it arrived after each course had been eaten. This was despite me say no further than 15 feet from the bar and me being able to see how busy the bar tender was. He wasn’t in the slightest. I’d have far rathered wander over to a bar with all the wines open and I serve myself and then settle up afterwards. So many restaurants think we want to be served - but this only works if the service is good. If not, just leave it to me. I’ll help myself. Or better still, I’ll BYO and then I can happily serve myself when I want to.
We enjoyed happy hour- which made us the happiest of customers.. beautiful service, ambience and service was exceptional- even when we changed our mind on our order, we were graciously obliged and made to feel that no request was too much trouble. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
Celebrated my sister’s birthday on Sunday at La Goccia and we couldn’t be happier. The quality of the food was amazing and the fresh products they use made all the difference. We’ll be going back for sure
The location and environment is great with a nice vibe. The food was good, not exceptional, but not average and the choice of wine and cocktails are great. However the service was pretty lax, possibly because we were in a corner little out of sight but even when drinks were ordered they were slow delivering
Lovely food and atmosphere, service was super friendly and helpful when they were there.. but getting them to serve you was difficult, we ended up only having 2 drink throughout a 3 course meal as we just weren’t asked anything, took a very long time to have our orders taken.
Great restaurant- delicious food and excellent customer service!
We were recommended La Goccia by a friend and we were not disappointed Great food and service. When there you must try Sicilian vine Zisola
First time we have visited to eat here, although have shopped here for treasures before. Food was very tasty and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Will definitely come back next time we are in London. Very pleasant evening here despite the heavy rain!
Great gluten-free options on the menu and they are very accommodating with turning a dish gluten-free (with GF bread and pasta) or dairy-free. Delicious food.
Almost perfect- only criticism is that the tables are too cluttered and too small for small plates
Delicious food, lovely courtyard with fairy lights. Service was a little slow - it took a while to have our order taken
A nice place to have an appetitive, but not nice to have a proper dinner.
Lovely outdoor courtyard setting (with some heaters for the autumn day), especially for members of the party nervous about eating inside during the Covid crisis. Service was attentive and good, food was lovely with a good choice. The wine list, even the one we were advised was the "house" option, was very expensive. Perhaps just one cheaper option could be provided?
Extensive menu but perhaps a tad overpriced for what you get. Think you are maybe paying for the brand here rather than what's on the plate. A very nice evening regardless with a friend, and the cocktails were delicious!
Food really good , lovely sharing concept , great cocktails good covid consideration felt safe and looked after
Will be back
The courtyard garden area has always attracted me to try this restaurant.
We were poorly advised by the waitress to each order 3 small dishes each, plus a main dish for lunch. I appreciate the need to up sell at present but in the end it actually detracted from our overall experience.
The staff were however attentive in every other way, which is why I rated the service highly.
The squid, Zucchini’s fritters (an oily, heavy fried version of tempera), plus the La Goccia chicken speciality (over cooked fried chicken) were all disappointing. The Burratta was delicious but when we ordered bread the portion seemed rather mean.
The seafood linguine was dry, which was kindly removed from the bill. The braised linguine was tasty but by then my appetite had been spoiled by the earlier oily dishes.
We ate at three restaurants last week and was very much looking forward to our booking at La Garcia, which was well below the standard of the other two restaurants, which were at a similar price.
I hope this feedback helps.
The location is wonderful and so is the decor. Sadly we felt the food was a let down.. the fried baby squid is mainly fried (and very greasy; fried food doesn't have to be dripping in fat) breadcrumbs, the lamb chops had very little flavour themselves and the dipping it came with was in contrast super hot with loads of chilli. It wasn't bad, just not great either which we had hoped it would be.
It’s a lovely venue, a green gem in a quaint London street. Quite magical in the patio area. It’s food credentials make it even more appealing. The food was all tasty & nicely presented. Generous portions & two to three sharing plates each seems to hit the ‘satisfied’ mark. Pity it’s bedtime at 10pm these days!
A beautiful find, thanks to some Instagram recommendations, I am so pleased I booked this for my colleagues and I. A real gem and beautifully delicate and delicious food and cocktails, thank you for making us feel safe too during Covid times.
Always a great place food fab - Martin is so nice
Waiting staff very welcoming. Beautiful decor both inside and out. Food is exceptional.
Lovely place to have a catch up with friends. Food was lovely and staff was friendly. Nice slow pace meal lovely if you’re out side in a sunny day. Cocktails were expensive apart from that everything else was fabulous.
A very nice place in Covent Garden. The tiramisu is AMAZING.
Amazing food, really delicious. Plates were quite small but great food. Cocktails are pricey and not so great. The waiters don’t pay much attention and we had to wait for a long time before we got the bill.
Lovely setting outside. On the whole the food was tasty. The fried squid and courgettes were a little over battered. Good service.
