Welcome to La Peniche! Falmouth's vintage restaurant, floating at Haven Marina, where every seat has a view across the harbour, Marina or quays. Our prime location tucked away on historic North Quay in the heart of the town & our novel premises provide a unique dining experience.

    The best public car park to use is Grove Place (Event Square). We are just a 5 minute walk from there. Custom House Quay (by local emporium Trago Mills) is nearer but in summer there are not many spaces available. For taxi drop off or pick up ask for North Quay.

    We are moored in the heart of the town waterfront on North Quay, near the local emporium Trago Mills on neighbouring Custom House Quay. We are walking distance from Falmouth's car parks, Town & Docks train station and bus stops. We are slightly tucked away from the hectic pace on the main street. Seek out "Bookmark", a great little bookshop, turn off Arwenack Street and stroll down Quay Hill all the way to the water. When you can't go any further, turn left and head though the top Marina gate and onto our pontoon. At low tide you may not automatically see us but follow the signs and look left and you'll find our hidden gem. "The jewel in Falmouth's dining crown"! For Taxi drop off ask for North Quay.

    Despite being half empty, it took around half an hour for our drinks. Then my starter was wrong twice. Maybe they were having a bad night, the food was fine and the staff were friendly. But won't be rushing back.

    Such a unique place to eat. The food was so delicious and well Cooked. The waiting staff were smart and polite and the drink prices were very reasonable. Lovely atmosphere, especially as the sun started to go down and all the lights on the boat glowed. Lovely experience for an evening meal. The menu for breakfasts and lunch also looked great. Will definitely visit again.

    Family meal on holiday. Chose here because of the location and had a wonderful welcome from the ever-smiling host. Limited menu only offered 2 (£30) or 3 course menu. We asked if we could order off the a la crate but not an option.If we’d known this in advance, I would have looked at the menu. The food is over-complicated and unfortunately doesn’t deliver on taste at all. Offering an amuse bouche is great, but really didn’t deliver on taste, but I then ordered the skate main meal, and the taste of the vegetable accompaniment was almost identical to the amuse bouche…curried (maybe I’m expecting too much!). Shouldn’t be having that clash of taste. Wine list is really limited and I thought overpriced. Staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive, faultless.

    Can’t fault this gem of a restaurant. Tucked away at the side of the busy quayside is this charming bistro. The staff were so friendly and attentive; we even witnessed them being so kind and patient with a customer who was challenging the minute he walked in. The food was outstanding (best mackerel my husband has ever eaten, and he’s a fan) and we thought the prices were reasonable too. You would pay two or three times the amount for this quality in London. We were lucky enough to be given a table on the side of the harbour so we had a great view too. Will definitely return when we visit Falmouth again.

    This is fine dining in an unusual setting on the water. Menu was original as well although quite a narrow choice. Food nicely presented and tasty but needed sides. French frites very good. We thought the wine was expensive.

    The environment was delightful and more spacious than expected compared to our experiences of other boat restaurants. All the food was delicious as was the Chablis. Who knew rice pudding could be so special and that basil meringue is a thing? But both are at La Peniche. The waitress was attentive and fun which added to an overall amazing, memorable and very special dining experience.

    La Peniche is a beautiful restaurant on a boat. The food is out of this world and the staff were amazing. It’s not cheap but for the quality of food, it’s excellent value.

    We booked after our friends told us of their great experience. We really enjoyed the ambience - nice and quiet and well spaced tables. Great service from the young staff and really delicious food. Thanks for a brilliant birthday ! (PS the bits of brownie with a candle in were a great touch !!

    A lovely restaurant for any occasion though we enjoy celebrating the special ones here as it feels so decadent with its gorgeous 30’s Art Deco interior. The food is delicious, great service & you’re on a fabulous boat with glorious views, what more could you wish for!

    Booked Sunday lunch - at low tide - but still had a nice water view. Ladies and Gents either side of entrance - not very welcoming but Manageress was - very pleasant however not very knowledgeable about menu - had to keep going to refer to the chef. Don't know where this chef has been hidden! Had excellent meal, beautifully cooked with desserts to die for!!

    Booked this amazing place for an Anniversary breakfast for my Parents while on holiday in St Mawes. We were welcomed by the very friendly owner and given the option to sit indoors or on the deck. The weather was a bit unreliable so we opted to sit inside . The interior was cosy and exceptionally clean . We opted for the full breakfast and there were a variety of drinks on offer. The breakfast was delicious and the overall experience was wonderful and memorable.

    The fantastic reviews I had read before We booked were not wrong. La Peniche is a real gem, with a lovely relaxing ambiance, in a great (if a little quirky) setting in the harbour. The menu is small, but perfectly done, and there’s a good selection of drinks. We had three courses, with every one of them cooked to perfection and served with a smile by friendly staff. If I lived in Falmouth, this would be at the top of my list when eating out.

    A great evening with wonderful food and service. A fairly limited menu choice but I assume that's because all the produce is fresh. Some nice wines were available to compliment the meal.

    Visited la Peniche last year and it was excellent, however, this year the food was extremely disappointing. The same dish: cod was dry and didn’t seem fresh.

    Small fixed price 2 or 3 course menu with red meat, fish, poultry and vegetarian options. Focus on quality over quantity. Prompt and friendly service, authentic French cuisine with views across the bustling harbour front. Savour the flavours on a boat without the bloat.
