I have lived in Devon for 17 years and the mussels served here were the freshest and tastiest I've been served in that time. I would certainly recommend this fabulous little restaurant. A hidden gem and well worth the drive.
Our second trip and my mothers birthday. The experience was even better than the first time. The staff were delightful, the chef insightful, the food was delicious and a lovely meal was had by all. My father in law said it was amazingly amazing and my mum was very happy. Cake for my mum was very thoughtful.
It felt like a tiny French restaurant had been transported to deepest Devon. Very authentic food and atmosphere, great friendly service and an obvious passion for what they do.
A pleasant and surprising experience for rural devon
As always, a great location for Anita's culinary skills. Beautiful room with great atmosphere, and nice to be in view of the kitchen. I had the whitebait which were great - big and flavoursome, followed by an outstanding coq au vin. All in all a top night with friends.
Absolutely excellent - food as good as in the best Parisian neighbourhood bistro.
La Petite Bouchee is relocating to Mid Devon imminently. The West Country's gain is sadly South East London's great loss. This was a superb dinner with a variety of decent wines and outstanding food. We wish LPB good fortune in the future.
