Set over three intimate floors, La Petite Maison brings you a taste of authentic French cooking in an informal environment, where the focus is on serving quality fresh Sussex produce.
We are currently running a set, one,two or three course set menu until 7pm each day and Sunday roasts are served from 12pm.
Very pleasant little restaurant. Specials of the day were far better than advertised and more exciting than the menu options.
I was assured a "confirmed" booking by the open table app.
I gathered my friends and we intended to meet there for dinner but to our surprise the restaurant was closed for maintenance and I was not informed. The whole evening was ruined along with money wasted going back and forth to the place on multiple taxis and the embarrassing situation I was put in. There was a miscommunication and we were the victims and of such a thing. I am willing to have good faith in your service, but my trust has dropped a lot with today's events.
I hope to hear from you soon regarding a logical explanation and with an appropriate course of action.
Your once faithful user.
Two of us visited for dinner. Service was a bit chaotic but the waiters were all pleasant and friendly. The food was uninspiring. Ambiance fairly good, although the tables are rather crowded together. We won't be going back when there are so many better places in Brighton.
The food was delicious and decently priced. Great live music and outdoor seating. The staff was not very attentive. I had to wait a long time to get service.
Keep coming back as always good food, friendly staff and welcoming to children
The food served to everyone in our party of four was very poor. The skate wing was overcooked, the "seafood platter" was a joke, the surf and turf consisted of four prawns and a poor quality piece of meat, and the duck was a very small portion. Overall it was very disappointing. We did not complain on the night as it was a special occasion and our guests requested us not to as it would spoil the evening. I would not eat at this restaurant again nor recommend it.
Visited La Petite Maison as it was convenient for the theatre and had a nice set menu. I wasn't disappointed - the food was good and the service was efficient without being intrusive. Will definitely visit again when I am next in Brighton.
Lovely little bistro in a vibrant area of Brighton close to the Lanes and the seafront. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Only drawback was the steep climb to the loos on the third floor with a final step that could catch you out but this was very minor point for most able people.
Very friendly restaurant with a very welcoming atmosphere.
Menu had a good range of options and they met specific dietary requirements very easily with no hassle.
The food was delicious and presented beautifully.
The restaurant is in a square and has a good vibe, sat upstairs but felt a bit withdrawn from this atmosphere.
I booked this restaurant for my husband's birthday meal without really knowing anything about the Brighton food scene.
It was a Tuesday evening and all was very quiet so the ambiance wasn't quite there...not the restaurant's fault.
We were given a table overlooking the square and the staff were very attentive even if there was something lost in translation.
The food was absolutely gorgeous and I had a very happy birthday boy on my hands.
A small glitch when we were charged for a dessert twice was easily rectified.
Our waiter was a sweetie.........!
Our fourth visit here as it was my birthday, we travelled down from Newmarket. It didn't disappoint in any way.
The Duck, wow....favorsum and one of those plates you didn't want to end.
Gracie to our waiter, who was very attentive, (no name sorry, from Alicante and new to the restaurant)
Great food, great value, great service, great location.
Poor selection of drinks, untrained staff and underwhelming food.
We won't come again!
Great food in the sunshine
The food delicious!
The service perfectly understated!
The atmosphere relaxed and friendly!
I completely recommend anyone to go. The staff were very welcoming.
Not really a "French" restaurant but OK. We chose to go there because on their website they advertised Lamb and Pork Belly - neither of which was available. We found this out after we had ordered a bottle of wine and it was opened. Not good, and not happy. Nevertheless, we had a Ribeye Steak (tough), and the Seafood Risotto - tasty but not much seafood to be seen. About 8 mussels was the main seafood in it.
simple fresnch bistro, food well cooked
nice moule marinare and entrecote frittes
desserts were a real disappointment - seemed like they came out of a packet
Service friendly but a little bit disorganised (the opposite, on both fronts, to what I'd expect in a real French Bistro)
Very disappointing having read the earlier reviews. The menu is very similar to a chain or pub food offer. It is a squashed environment and the service slow and haphazard. The food was basic and dry, the Porc Maison 80% fat.
Won't be going back.
Good service and good food, but volumn is a little bit small than i expected, try order more. Enjoy
Came across La Petite Maison while wandering around Brighton - an absolutely wonderful dinner experience ! Friendly & welcoming staff, incredible food & delicious wine.
Our second visit here was lovely, they treated us as if we were old friends.
Starters and mains Excellant, although I was disappointed with my dessert which I had really been looking forward too.
We were told They changed supplier and it wasn't a patch on the first visit, I hope they change back. It's was bread and butter pudding, the first was almost like a French patterisery this was was like a pudding. They were worlds apart.
Wouldn't stop us going back though and we travelled two hours to enjoy it.
Great food, great Service lovely setting a really really enjoyable experience and would recommend to anyone.
