Really enjoyable, the manager was super attentive and we were given a lovely table in a quiet room to the left. Good food and good wine, definitely would recommend.
Really lovely restaurant. Quiet enough to be able to relax and have a conversation but still a good atmosphere. The food was incredible. I would definitely go here again.
We were so excited as the reviews and pictures look great and the menu confirmed what we hoped, that it was a proper Italian restaurant. The premise of Italian good food, prepared simply and cooked well. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I'm sorry not to have taken pictures, but to keep everything short, i will use the lamb main course as the example. Do not expect any meat or fish to come up any way other than thinly sliced. 2 weird thin pieces of 'lamb' came so overdone they were charcoaled and extremely tough. Two of us had the same dish and 3 out of 4 of us were convinced it was beef, not lamb. The waiter says it was, but they were not convinced at all. For more than £20 a main course, it was extremely poor value. The swordfish meal was good and by far the best....the Sardinian seafood pasta and aubergine parmigiana both did not go down well, most of them being left. The puddings were average. Very sad to say it was not the graduation celebration I had hoped for, we won't be going back and we definitely won't be recommending it.
Update from your reply.
I’m afraid you have not been given the correct information. Yes I said I was pregnant which is why I ordered medium well. Unfortunately both mine and my fathers lamb came up beyond well done. Most importantly we were never advised not to order the lamb or that it would be tough, neither did our tables plates come back empty and as for no complaints... we asked the waiter if it was the right meat... we challenged him on it being beef given the texture and toughness. You will see that most of my reviews are highly positive, it is incredibly rare for me to post a negative review but sadly our experience was worth it. I’m very sorry we did not take pictures to prove my points. Hopefully it was just one bad night. All the best.
Hello DaleLFM, we are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience at La Tagliata. The floor staff, which looked after your table during the night, told you to avoid ordering a very well done lamb as it would come out tough. You explained that you're pregnant and that you wanted it overcooked anyway. The plates all came back completely empty and no complaint have been raised from your side after our waitress kindly asked you if everything was okay. Thank you for your feedback
Nice environment. The quality of the food is fine but not outstanding. I complained because one dish of pasta was cooked incorrectly and they did not offer it for free or suggested a discount, they missed the opportunity to apologize for a mistake.
we saw all tables have served with bread, except us
Good service and location but seriously expensive
Brilliant service and delicious food and wine, dessert also was to die for
Food great but airflow in restaurant should be better. Had to ask for it to be turned on but minor annoyance as food was very good. Sambuca has coffee beans in it.
definitely I recommend to my friends for traditional with hint of new trend.
I love this place. Great food and service, treated like a regular after two visits!
We had a lovely evening in a quiet intimate restaurant - uncrushed but efficient service. Our food was very good and the wine was good, too.
Really enjoyed our visit here. The staff were lovely and good fun. We were six women who hadn't met up for 12 months. So we were rubbish at ordering and kept talking instead of making drink and food choices! They were terrific. The menu offered unusual options to the usual pasta fare with lovely flavours. Wine a little more pricey starting at £26 for a bottle. Our thoughts of getting a red and white became a bottle of rose! Beautiful classy interior. Will definitely be back. What a find. Thank you to the staff for a lovely experience
Amazing, as always. I keep coming back, both for the food and the vibe
I picked La Tagliata due to it's close proximity to Liverpool Street stn; and my colleagues wanted something atmospheric. We were really impressed. They loved the swordfish and my LE ORECCHIETTE SALSICCIA E POMODORO was delicious. I also liked the Modigliani artwork and other wall art. Bravo !
Amazing service and great food. I found the salad a little too salty and just mentioned it causally and immediately the staff looked into it for me and refunded it off the bill. Excellent service - pasta was amazing, although slightly oily but it didn’t bother me too much. My cousin ordered the gluten free pasta and I had a little taste and that was delicious too. Brilliant service and great food. I will definitely return.
Outstanding food and service. Really nice place for a quiet dinner.
Lamb chops literally uncooked.
Aubergine starter very salty
Very nice Italian restaurant with a service orientated manager. Would recommend if working or staying nearby.
Great food, great service
Very good food quality and service was exceptional.
Good food and service
Fabulous meal, service and ambiance was wonderful. The decore is understated, doesn't take over from the meal, but has some good art work. I would suggest the steak - it was perfect.
Agree with a couple of the recent reviews. Food is bland and expensive for what it is. The signature Tagliata is not a Tagliata at all - it’s not even cut into ribbons and the balsamic glaze is non-existent. Staff are pleasant but as stated elsewhere, don’t know the menu or the wine. Wine list is actually good but if you’re going to serve decent wine, don’t do it in Ikea wine glasses and instead invest in some decent glassware.
We went on a Thursday night and it was empty.
If this continues it’ll be closed by the summer.

Whilst the service was good, I was disappointed with the menu and food, with a limited menu, I was expecting a more interesting set of dishes than the basic options offered and I have to say that the food whilst executed well, lacked any real flavour and left me questioning the price/value.
This is the third time I have dinner at this restaurant and the food has never failed me.
Presentation is nice, food is good and the place is very cozy and well kept.
This time the service, usually good, was just not up to the standards. Orders took almost one hour to arrive, there were mistakes in the drinks and the glass was filled to often (please, leave that poor bottle on the table!)
Still a good restaurant that I suggest, maybe I got the wrong night for the service
Return visit to this quiet and discreet restaurant just a stone’s through from Liverpool St Station and a hop and a skip from the City.
Relaxed and refined atmosphere with a very friendly welcome upon arrival.
Very good food and an appropriate wine list too.
Sadly a change of chef and waiting staff have transformed this once great urban Italian dining experience into an overpriced farce. The staff are curt and clearly don’t know the menu and the new chef has ruined the once stylish modern take on Italian classics. The quality of ingredients remains great, but the experience and execution is poor. I used to love this restaurant but I will not be returning after the experience tonight. Overpriced, overrated, avoid!!!
Nice and quiet for business conversation, food is lovely and service is very attentive, maybe a bit too much though, my friend and I were asked every two minutes if we were ready to order for several times (we were there 6pm in the afternoon so not really a busy time of the day)
Poor service, small portions, cold pasta, expensive considering
Defo Recommend. Lovely restaurant with really good food and perfect location.
Its a very quaint restaurant, with interesting artwork.
The food was very good and the service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing.
If you like authentic italian food then this is a very good option in a pocket of London that has several good options
Great city location very near Liverpool Street.
Service was slower than would be expected.
Vegetarian options limited but fine. Had to clarify with the chef as server was not sure. Perhaps should clearly label with a “V”.
Excellent food - the flavours in every dish are superb. However don't expect to leave feeling full!
Nice food. Great service. Lovely ambience. Would definitely book here again
Waiter was very helpful and patience and the decoration was colourful and calm. Beautiful surroundings. The foods are delicious and I loved the tiramisu.
We went for Valentines with a fixed menu.
The menu seemed really nice and at a very good price.
But the starter is very small, 1shrimp 2 bites of tuna tartare (dry with no dressing) and 3 tiny pieces of seabass soaked in passion fruit juice. I had the risotto with salmon and it was bland, tasteless. The salmon was dry. Mi fiancée had the ribeye and that was much better, tasty with truffle. I wish I had that instead. The dessert to share was good, white chocolate bomb with passion fruit and white chocolate mousse inside, good portion to share.
But the wine list is overpriced and a glass of wine starts at 8gbp, aperitivo spritz are £10! The venue wasn’t too pretty and not really new, the walls had damaged paint and our room smelled too much of perfume candle. Overall I am a bit disappointed especially because I saw so many good reviews about this Italian restaurant.
Got the 3 course valentines menu. Disappointed with the starter and dessert. Main was amazing. At first we thought it was a bit empty as there were no carbs present, but the juicy pistachio wrapped ribeye with truffle and cheese sauce really hit home. Worked out at about £58 per head with a bottle so wasnt too bad
Celebrated my birthday here and had a wonderful evening! We had our own area and the staff were very welcoming and quick to serve us. They forgot to make 2 drinks that were ordered and were very apologetic and then gave us them on the house. The food was delicious, the background music was great and we all had a really good night out!
The desert was really good.
Foods were too salty and were not the Italian foods we like. The area behind the kitchen looks good for more people eat together as a separate VIP room but it smells. It needs a good ventilation to have some fresh air inside.
